Chapter 288: Teaching
Yuan Changwen was lying on his bed, and there was a strange girl outside the bedroom, and she was chattering.
I can't refuse, well, I'll admit I don't want to.
After driving her away, I regretted it.
Unexpectedly, she actually appeared again, and the reason was that her superpowers disappeared, indicating that she was still thinking about her.
Yuan Changwen couldn't help laughing at himself, he actually accepted this reason, and let her sleep in his own home, even though it was just a sofa.
Sighing slightly, it seems that he can't sleep tonight, and his thoughts are rolling in his mind.
Will she sneak in in the middle of the night?
Will she pretend to cough to wake me up, and then I accidentally look at her affectionately when I go to care for her?
I don't know, how is her figure?
However, do you really feel at ease that she is at home?
Ouch!
Yuan Changwen was tortured by his imagination more and more energetically, and after a while, he slowly fell asleep.
Still dreaming.
I dreamed that I had tons of dollars, and I couldn't spend them all.
I dreamed that I was reborn, but I was forced to eat boogers by my children.
I dreamed that I had countless beautiful women, but my body was damaged.
I dreamed that I was traveling around the world, but there was no one.
Then it was pitch black, and I couldn't seem to see my surroundings, and I wanted to shout but couldn't make a sound.
"Let there be light!"
The darkness is gone, and it becomes a slightly dazzling light.
Yuan Changwen looked at it, it was already daytime, and he didn't know what time it was?
Pick up the phone next to the bed and it!
It's ten o'clock!
It's late!
Hey?
No, it's Sunday, no work.
Yuan Changwen continued to lie down, wanting to get some sleep.
Five minutes later, I found that I couldn't sleep, so I had no choice but to get up.
When I opened the bedroom door, I saw a girl with one foot raised high.
Yuan Changwen suddenly reacted, there was an extra girl in the family.
Early in the morning, I do yoga, and I am very energetic.
Yuan Changwen's sleepy eyes were fluffy, and he went to wash up after saying hello casually.
I have to say that water is really an excellent thing for human beings, not to mention the source of life and the like, just to make people sober is amazing.
Those who have not washed their faces can see it at a glance.
After washing his face, as if he had changed his face, Yuan Changwen felt much more relaxed and said, "Good morning!"
"Good morning, long article. I bought KFC's porridge with preserved eggs and lean pork on the table. Xiaoyu maintained her posture and spoke slowly, as if she was afraid to speak and disturb her inner breath.
"Ouch, thank you, thank you. Yuan Changwen was a little embarrassed and said, "Why buy KFC, it's a waste of money." ”
Xiaoyu smiled and didn't speak.
…………
The weather in Rongcheng is mostly gloomy, and it is rare to have sunny days, which will make many people carry the table out to play mahjong.
The two walked slowly along the river, and saw many people playing mahjong.
Yuan Changwen: "Do you really believe in God Heaven so much, and then live in a stranger's house?"
Xiaoyu smiled: "Maybe you don't remember me, but I always remember you." You are a long article, my long article, you are not a stranger. So, it's normal to live in your house. ”
Again.
It seems that this man has no sorrow as long as he believes in God's heaven.
And, her claim, once God Heaven really exists, then her claim is completely unassailable.
Is there really a God in heaven?
Yuan Changwen was taken aback by his own thoughts, and gave in like this?
Xiaoyu: "I know Changwen doesn't remember me, but it's okay, I can chase you again." Hee-hee, it's like you chased me when you first started. ”
Yuan Changwen suddenly remembered Sister Wen's words, "Never live up to a girl's heart."
Maybe, you can, give it a try?
The two of them didn't say anything for a while, and walked slowly along the river.
Before I knew it, I walked to the temple again.
There is no way, Yuan Changwen's house is not far from the temple, and it is antique, and the most important temple does not charge.
Instead of going to the master, the two just wandered aimlessly around the temple.
Stone paths, bamboo forests, Zen incense, Buddha statues.
The master came from the inner courtyard with two little monks and happened to meet him.
Xiaoyu was very happy: "Hello master." ”
The master saluted slightly and said, "Both, if you have nothing to do, you can come with me." ”
Yuan Changwen was just like that, he was pulled into the lecture hall, and countless believers sat there, very religious.
The master sat on it, bowed deeply to the Buddha statue, and then began to speak:
"Today's talk is about happiness. Many people are unhappy, they are looking forward to happiness, and they are trying countless means to pursue happiness. Up to now, it has evolved into the two biggest factions, one is that I am happy when I have money, or I am happy when I have something.
The second is that happiness has nothing to do with material things, even if you have coarse tea and light food, you can be very happy. I don't discuss right or wrong today, because in my eyes, there is no right or wrong in this world, everything is perfect.
What I want to talk about is that the first step to happiness is to have faith. No matter what you believe, there must always be a faith. You don't have to believe in Buddhism to be happy, if you want, you can believe in Marx.
But what I am most afraid of is false faith, that is, mouth letters. As soon as the wind blows, social information flows, and your beliefs change all at once. This kind of false belief will make your whole life float, and naturally it will be difficult to be happy......"
The master spoke eloquently, his voice was very soft and soft, and he never seemed to be in a hurry, nor did he think about convincing others.
In this way, like a spring of water, it slowly flows into the heart of every believer.
"Fear, that's something that none of us want to face. I'm sure many of you, all of you, have experienced that feeling of being bound by fear. Panicked, anxious, completely unsure of what to do, and desperately seize it once a direction that seems to be an opportunity arises.
At this time, we have been kidnapped by fear, and we can no longer see any reason. When the fear is gone, and when you look back, you will feel how you could have been so impulsive or have acted so irrationally.
So, what should we do when fear comes? Most people resist fear, just like they drive away the bad guys, trying to drive the fear out of their hearts. And the method is the so-called hard work, or using some chicken soup for the soul to deceive yourself, or even the idea of upgrading your understanding, which is just to avoid inner anxiety.
There's a problem with this, none of these methods are the ultimate solution. If it doesn't work out, then fear will continue to strike. Even if we succeed, then there is also a greater fear waiting for us. These are all ways to treat the symptoms but not the root cause.
So, is there a cure for the root cause? Of course there is, let it go. The talk here is about letting go, which is not commonly understood, letting go of your desire for money, letting go of your longing for a big house and a luxury car. If you let go of everything, you will become a Buddha? No, because the thought of 'wanting to let go' cannot be let go of itself.
When I talk about letting go, I mean letting go of the confrontation with 'as is'. Fear comes, it's a fact, fear appears in you. Then, 'fear is coming' at the moment, and there is nothing else to add, that is, fear is coming.
But many people are resisting, either making up stories about what the future will do, and fear themselves. Or, it is to take the previous method, using chicken soup or cognitive upgrades, to numb yourself and ignore the facts in front of you, and tell yourself that there is a bright future.
But is it really going to be over, or is there really a bright future? Aren't both of these delusions delusional? The only thing that can be done at this moment is to let go. Acknowledging that fear is in the body, acknowledging one's own fear, and not resisting the appearance of fear.
Fear comes, this is 'what is', how can we resist it? All resistance to what is is is the source of trouble. At this moment, I allow fear to arise and allow fear to be within me. When we let go of our resistance to what is so, everything will naturally dissipate, and our troubles will come from delusions in our heads.
Delusion, on the other hand, is the rejection of 'as it is', the non-recognition of the moment. ”
The master talked a lot, and finally there was a question session.
Ask: "The master once said that everything is inevitable. But there are some things that I really can't figure out why it's inevitable, and I don't see any point in these bad things happening. ”
Master: "You can see the inevitability in front of you, the good luck it brings you, so you won't doubt it." But if you avoid breaking your leg in another city because of a flight cancellation, this must be invisible.
This is the role of faith, not because of what you see in front of you, it does not affect your convictions. Everything that happens is inevitable. So, how is it possible for you, as an individual human being, to know the full details and plans?
Modern people have a problem, with the development of technology, it seems that they have to control everything. And what is beyond the scope of one's own understanding is either despised or doubted. I ask, is it really possible for you to control it all?"
Ask, "Should we study the Dharma carefully?"
Answer: "The Dharma is a text that describes the truth, and of course it should be studied carefully." But the Dharma is not the truth after all, it's like a signpost to an attraction that tells you how to get there, rather than making you treat it as a attraction and just sit there and enjoy it.
Of course, the Dharma is so vast that you have to experience it with your heart in order to reach our purpose. I hope you will remember that the Dharma is like lightning in the dark night sky, and you should not marvel at its beauty and just look up at it.
Rather, it is to use the light of lightning to find the way under your feet. ”
Ask, "How should we do good?"
Answer: "Lao Tzu once said that everyone in the world knows that what is good is good, and what is not good is good. You deliberately do good deeds, that's not called doing good, you just want to tell everyone, come and see, come and see, I'm doing good. You're just trading with the Buddha, I've done good deeds, you should let me get promoted and get rich.
Good is the root of evil. Buddhism talks about bodhicitta and universal benefit to all sentient beings. Doing good is not good in deeds, but good in heart. When you encounter something, the first thought that arises in your heart is your original mind, which is your Buddha-nature awareness.
If it is not the intention to do good, but in the end you are doing good, then it is just your action after thinking about profit. But nowadays a lot of people are blinded by their Buddha-nature, and even if the first thought is a Buddha-nature, you can't be aware of it. By the time you realize it, it's already Hongchen's thoughts.
At this time, you have to rely on cultivation to clean up the dust in your heart. Everyone is talking about good fortune, and they are all talking about being reborn in the Pure Land of Bliss in the West, and of course it is right to do good deeds. But it is useless to hold the mentality that if you don't do good deeds, you will lose your qualification to be reborn in the Pure Land, or if you don't do good deeds, you will go to hell.
Why do we have to be good because we are afraid? Can't we be good because we want to be good?"
Ask: "Master, how should we stop our troubles in our daily lives?"
Answer: "There are many ways, the first one is to recite the Heart Sutra. If you don't recite it twice, you can't recite it twice, and if you don't recite it five times, until your lips are numb and your throat is dry, you naturally won't remember what you're worried about.
Second, stay aware. Ask yourself who bothered you. Finding Him is not an external thing, but someone in your heart who makes you feel troubled. Find him, feel him, don't try to suppress your emotions. Look at him and feel him.
The third is to visualize blessings. Avalokiteshvara is majestic, close your eyes and think about Avalokiteshvara's blessings on you. The majesty of Avalokiteshvara is your majesty, the tranquility of Avalokiteshvara is your tranquility, and the body of Avalokiteshvara is your body.
Slowly, you become one. You are Avalokiteshvara, and Avalokiteshvara is you. At that time, you look at your troubles again and imagine how Avalokiteshvara dealt with them, and you deal with them. Because, you are now Avalokiteshvara.
Finally, no matter what method you use, don't resist your worries. Let go of resistance, admit that it is, admit that you are troubled, admit that your troubles are eating away at you. Everyone, you can give it a try, when you let it go, when you don't resist, it will naturally raise a space and weaken the power of troubles. ”
Ask, "How exactly should we practice?"
Answer: "This question is a bit big, I estimate that I can't finish talking about it for three days and three nights, and everyone can go to Du Niang for practicing kung fu methods and the like." I'm going to talk to you about the core of the practice, being aware.
Always pay close attention to your thoughts, don't be nostalgic for the past, don't expect the future, those are just your own stories.
Always stay in the moment, the moment is the most exciting. If you stay in the present at all times, then cumulatively, your past will be wonderful all the time, and your future will be wonderful too.
When you encounter something and become aware, when the first thought arises, you let go and don't make up stories. Don't dwell on the past and the future, you will be able to give birth to wisdom, without judgment, attachment, and delusion.
Cutting off the existence of time is the core of the practice. ”
Asked, "Is it true that the worst of sin will go to hell?"
Answer: "After comparing Western theology and Buddhism, I found that both emphasize this point, and that a serious sin leads to hell. In Buddhism, it is said that the side sins are excluded from the edge of the Dharma, and they cannot be tempered for eternity. These are all about using the emotion of fear to make you a good person.
You are good because you are afraid of going to hell. Or is it the same sentence, you are willing to live your life in worry and fear, you don't want to be a good person from the heart?
If you want to be a good person and be a good person, you don't need any hell, you don't need any hell reincarnation. Be a good person just because you want to be a good person.
My Buddha is compassionate, Amitabha. ”
Yuan Changwen sat in the last row, seemingly having gained something.
