The 306th round, if you fall behind, you will be beaten
Peng Yichen looked at the people present and said his thoughts:
"Isn't it strange to everyone why our Chinese film special effects production technology is not much worse than Hollywood.
But the special effects pictures produced in the end of domestic movies seem to be so far behind Hollywood
Through the experience of making movies in the past few years, I have found three reasons.
First, the investment management of Huaxia Film is extremely unprofessional and standardized.
Although in recent years, directors and producers in China have begun to attach importance to G production in production, and the amount of investment in special effects has also increased, and even many films have spent hundreds of millions of dollars in special effects investment.
But I'm sorry to tell the truth, among these so-called hundreds of millions of special effects investments, the money that really fell into the hands of G special effects production company is actually pitiful.
Often, before Huaxia Film invests in special effects, it is already very good to be able to give one-third to G special effects production companies. As for where the rest of the money goes, because there is no regulatory body in the Huaxia film industry, and there is no union-type organization.
So apart from the film's director and producer, no one can say exactly where the money for a movie is spent.
Second, the director has mastered the gap in the production of special effects.
Huaxia directors shoot special effects shots, often because they are forced by the special effects pressure of Hollywood blockbusters, and have to pay attention to special effects production.
But every time they start to make special effects shots, it will be revealed that the knowledge structure and age level of Chinese directors are still in the eighties and nineties of the last century.
The fifth generation of directors is the mainstay of Huaxia today. But all of them grew up in an era when computers weren't yet commonplace. Most of them don't know much about computer special effects technology.
Among the older generation of directors, I'm sure that none of them really understand special effects. This leads to a terrible problem, that is, when the film actually produces special effects, there is often a huge communication gap between the director and the special effects producer.
In Hollywood, when the script of a movie is finalized, there is a special effects supervisor who is responsible for following up on the special effects production of the entire film.
Under the guidance of the special effects director and director, the special effects production company will participate in the preparation and shooting of the film throughout the process.
But in Huaxia, when the director shoots the movie, he doesn't think about the production of special effects at all. It is often the case that the entire movie is finished before the film material is sold to the special effects production company.
As a result, there are often special effects shots that can be easily produced in post-production with a little attention during shooting.
In the end, because the director didn't understand special effects shooting at all and didn't communicate with G Productions, the difficulty of completing special effects shots skyrocketed during the post-production of the film.
Even sometimes, the shots shot by Huaxia directors can't be produced with G special effects in the later stage.
I must admit that Huaxia is certainly not the country with the best special effects production. But in today's international film market, all the movie special effects you can see, I dare to say that none of them can be done by Chinese people!
Are we really bad at technology?
No, we're missing directors and producers who know both how to shoot movies and how to use special effects.
In "Journey to the West", the shots that you see that are not inferior to Hollywood special effects rely on the special effects production team of our digital technology training center to participate in the production of the film throughout the process, and finally achieve that effect.
Third, there is a gap in ideology.
In Hollywood, G special effects shots are the real highlight of a movie, and it costs a lot of money and a lot of effort to complete the core work of a movie.
In China, film companies and directors use special effects lenses more to save money, and I think this is one of the key reasons why domestic investment has not really been implemented.
To use a simple analogy, when you do a building explosion in China, it is often because you really blow up a real building, and the price is too high, so you will use a computer to do it.
So if the special effects production company's offer is higher than the price of the actual shot, it will be abandoned by the director and producer.
In foreign countries, directors often find special effects companies to produce because they can't achieve the more shocking and perfect visual effects he wants when shooting a shot of a real explosion in a building.
As a result, the price of special effects is often much higher than that of live action.
When the special effects company has a lot of financial income, the production staff will have more enthusiasm to achieve the special effects of the shot that no one has ever imagined in the director's imagination. In the end, the audience is presented with a more shocking shot than the real shot.
That's the biggest difference, we often use special effects to save money, while Hollywood uses special effects to build a world that reality can't realize.
Now, let's go back to the second question I just raised.
Why are our movie special effects lenses inferior to Hollywood, and why can't we use shocking visual effects to attract a large number of audiences to pay for our domestic films.
After listening to the above three reasons, I think everyone already has their own opinions and understandings in their hearts. ”
Peng Yichen turned around and wrote the third line on the blackboard.
Is Huaxia film shooting and special effects production technology really worse than Hollywood?
Or do we in the Chinese film industry never pay attention to film special effects technology in terms of ideological understanding?"
After putting down the oil pen, Peng Yichen looked at the thousands of college students in the audience, and said the last paragraph of today's lecture in a heavy tone.
"Students, you are all the inheritors of Chinese films in the 21st century, and the future development of Chinese films is in your hands.
However, the thinking of some people in the current Chinese film industry is the same as that of the late Qing government more than 100 years ago.
Closed off the country, resting on one's laurels, and not daring to open one's eyes to the world.
All foreign things are called strange and lewd techniques. I think that if I close the door, I will not be invaded or enslaved by others.
But students, you must remember that history has taught us a bloody lesson countless times: 'If you fall behind, you will be beaten.'
As the successors of the Chinese film industry, you have the responsibility to carry the atmosphere of the development of Chinese films, face the impact of Hollywood films, have the courage to learn from their advanced experience and ideas, and combine our own unique Wenhu to find a real road that belongs to our Chinese domestic films!
And finally lead Huaxia film to the whole country, all of Asia, and the whole world!!"
Peng Yichen's voice was not high-pitched, his emotions were not excited, and his words were smooth and firm, but they made the film academy students on the scene enthusiastic.
These young people never thought that there was such a big crisis hidden in the current Chinese film market.
Unexpectedly, Peng Yichen deeply linked the future fate of Chinese films with them.
So at the next moment, everyone stood up and expressed their excitement and enthusiasm to Peng Yichen with the warmest applause in their lives.
The entire auditorium was applauded as if it was about to explode.
Among the reporters and teachers of the college interviewed at the scene, some people who were not very brave were even pale with fear by the enthusiasm of the students.
I'm afraid that these crazy students will do something out of the ordinary.
