Chapter 142: Instruments

Winter goes to spring, time flies, three years have passed in a blink of an eye, and we have entered the seventies. Pen & Fun & Pavilion www.biquge.info

In the past three years, many major events have taken place in the country.

In addition to political activities such as "one dozen and three antis" (cracking down on counterrevolutionary sabotage activities, corruption, theft, and speculative activities), "agricultural science Dazhai", supporting the construction of the "third line", "criticizing and rectifying the style" (called "criticizing Chen and rectifying the style" within the party, and the great leader himself ended the political life of his secretary), the "913" incident (Lin defected to the Soviet Union and crashed), and criticized the "theory that reading is useless", there are also such political activities as China's first artificial satellite was launched into the sky, the Chengdu-Kunming railway was opened to traffic, and the "golden thread of jade clothes" The successive unearthing of the corpses of women of the Western Han Dynasty in Hemawangdui, the restoration of all legitimate rights of our country in the United Nations, Kissinger's secret visit to China, the issuance of the Sino-US Joint Communique, and the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan.

In fact, there are many events here that could be seen as a positive sign that our society as a whole is about to change direction. Unfortunately, ordinary people have not noticed the special changes that have taken place in certain areas, or even the positive effects that have begun to arise from such changes, and most people's attention is still focused only on political activities.

However, unlike in the past, because the various "movements" that have been emerging one after another have been going on for quite a long time, there is no time for them to end, and because the initial enthusiasm of the general public to participate has faded, many people have reached the critical point of mental exhaustion and feel extremely tired. In particular, the earth-shattering "13 September" incident caused tremendous damage to the hearts of almost every Chinese people. These have also formed a resonance effect, causing the atmosphere of "seeing through the red dust" in society to become more and more heavy.

Phrases such as "Quotations do not leave the hand, long live the mouth, say good things in person, poison the hand behind the back" began to become a popular folk phrase in this period, and later this phrase was also included in the report of the party congress and became the official language. And the air of suspicion and condemnation is not only frequently seen in the newspapers, but also permeates the people. So everyone fell silent, and a group of prophets began to think silently about what had been right and wrong in recent years.

If there is an apt word to describe this social state at that time, it can be roughly summed up as a "quasi-movement period".

Similar to the spiritual level of the Chinese people that began to undergo major changes in the subtle way, although the master and apprentice of Yuye are still the same on the surface, through the three years of getting along, each of them has unconsciously changed in nature to varying degrees.

As far as Yu Ye is concerned, it is mainly reflected in psychology. He was really old, and he had been lonely for a long time in his later years, so even he had to admit that he had found a lot of fun in the days with his two children.

So when he first started accepting apprentices, his "passivity" and "resistance" that he couldn't erase his feelings had long disappeared, and instead he was all about how to teach him kung fu as soon as possible, planning to grind his two children well. Resolutely not let these two apprentices "pay off their wrestling debts" (jargon, referring to the person who lost his master in the wrestling field) in the future.

As two children, the change is more reflected in the improvement of physical fitness and wrestling.

There is no doubt that Chen Liquan is the most practical person, and under the careful teaching of Yu Ye, he will practice how he wants, so he has benefited the most and made the fastest progress.

As for Hong Yanwu, although the problem of grinding foreign workers has not been eradicated, there is a strict master such as Yuye who is closely watching, although he is lazy after all, there is a limit. Therefore, in general, although he is not as solid as Chen Liquan, he has also successfully completed the training of soft body, tendon stretching and "platoon fighting", and entered the next new stage of learning.

The so-called new stage here does not mean that Yu Ye is going to teach the two children moves. However, because the two children's bodies already have some basic qualities, they will not be easily injured in training, in fact, they have entered another more advanced stage of basic skill practice, which can also be said to be the last pass before entry. Naturally, their morning and evening homework has added a lot of new content.

For example, Yu Ye first taught the two children the movements of "holding the big top", "iron plate bridge" and "somersault".

Don't look at these three movements, it seems to be a juggling, it doesn't seem necessary, but in fact, this is to practice balance. I also want to know what balance means to a wrestler. Therefore, these three actions are one of the most necessary basic skills.

In addition, Yu Ye taught them pumping, kicking, discing, kneeling, and passing, the five kinds of leg skills that must be practiced in wrestling. and the four exercises of shabu waist, waist grinding, waist fanning, and bending back and forth.

Like these training methods, it is natural to exercise the waist and leg ability, and it is also a compulsory course for beginners in wrestling. Yu Ye once specially told them in the form of martial proverbs, "Remember, if you don't practice your waist in wrestling, you will fool around all your life, and if you don't practice your legs in wrestling, you will give it in vain for a lifetime!"

In addition to these, Yu Ye also taught them to practice pulling a hard bow, twisting a stick, shaking a big pole and kicking cypress stakes, which are traditional practice methods of good fighting camp equipment.

First of all, let's talk about pulling a hard bow.

The bow has a hard bow, a crossbow, an arrow bow, a slingshot, a mother bow, etc., the pull of each bow is different, divided into several strengths, the old name is nine catties and twelve taels (about ten catties) for a strength, more than eight strength for a hard bow, ten strength for a stone. The iron tire bow handed down by the Yu family is a stone bow with ten strengths, and almost everyone in the thirteen generations has used it since the Yu family entered the camp. Now, it's the turn of these two "little pads".

Some people may think that this thing has nothing to do with wrestling. The reason why the camp pays attention to practicing this is actually because the flag people have a tradition of archery, and more importantly, it is also the most basic part of traditional strength training.

There is no substitute for the benefits of pulling a hard bow, it can not only be used to practice support and pulling, but also to experience the trick of power eruption. At the same time, you can also practice various footwork such as servant steps, lunges, lying steps, cross-legged, and cantilever forks. Even in the old days, in order to promote the quality of the practitioner. Before the flag man really exercises the bow, he often has to go through the training of putting on a horse and squatting in the crotch pose, hanging with both fists to listen to the bow master from one to ten, and using the Manchu word "counting the bow yards".

In fact, this is almost the same as the practice of the modern army, which can not only enable the trainees to develop a "martial arts" with a single plank and a glance, but also enable them to experience the rigor and solemnity of the military training of the Eight Banners Military Camp. Therefore, when the emperor of the Qing Dynasty hated the habit of the banner man and reprimanded him, he often had the comment that "even the demeanor and actions did not resemble the flag man". This is the same as the origin of the phrase "the archer counts the bow yards - 1510", which refers to the same thing.

Secondly, it is said that the big pole is actually evolved from the Mongolian horse pole, which belongs to the unique training method of the Mongolian pooping camp Mongolian pooping household.

The big rod is three meters long, the texture is flexible, and there are thirteen kinds of practice methods such as horizontal, pressing, shaking, pulling, gripping, pulling, pulling, covering, wei, horizontal, don't, dragging, kicking, and turning, which are called "thirteen rods". It can be used to improve the lateral force, grip strength, shaking force, pulling and other special strength. Since Yuye is a Mongolian, he is most familiar with this way of practice, so naturally, it was naturally passed on to the two children.

The third basic skill is to twist the stick.

The term is strictly an umbrella term. Because it is subdivided into three sticks, small sticks, big sticks and rattan sticks, there are great differences in practice and emphasis.

There is a hole in the middle of the rod, and a thin rope is worn inside. The weight can vary from person to person, but generally three to five kilograms. When practicing, you can divide into a single hand, mainly for finger strength and arm strength, one or two hands to twist the stone from bottom to top repeatedly, until the shoulder, arm, finger and wrist are sore.

The small stick mainly exercises grip strength and arm strength, and can often be practiced without bulging the handle, in addition to practicing the explosive power of scratching the hand. The big stick is an excellent technique for practicing horizontal force, focusing on the strength and vitality of the upper limbs. There is a saying in wrestling, "The big stick is horizontal, and the small stick is twisted", which is what it says.

At the same time, since the material of both kinds of sticks is only required to be hardwood, and the thickness and length can vary from person to person, Yu Ye chose a jujube rolling pin of different lengths for the two children as a substitute.

As for the rattan stick, it is also called the "overlord whip". Similar to the large stick, it consists of more than a dozen rattan sticks, the same length and thickness as the large stick. It differs from a large stick in that it essentially mimics the dislocation of human bones. When practicing, it is necessary to hold both hands tightly and make the rattan stick twist.

In short, practicing twisting a stick is very practical, not only to increase the defense and attack power of both hands, but also to make it have the effect of stabilizing the capture. Like when Emperor Jiaqing of the Qing Dynasty was suddenly assassinated by Chengde with the yellow flag of the Han army in the palace ban, even if it was difficult for all the guards to stop him, the Mongolian prince who sacrificed his life to save him still succeeded in capturing Chengde by relying on his daily unremitting efforts to twist the stick.

However, because Chengde had a kung fu that was far superior to that of the Mongolian prince, it also caused the brother-in-law of the Jiaqing Emperor to be seriously injured and disabled for life. And this kung fu is exactly what I want to talk about kicking cypress stakes below.

The practice of kicking cypress stakes is to bury the stakes with the thickness of the bowl mouth deep in the ground, leaving one foot five inches to two feet on the ground. When practicing, you must kick hard, divided into flat kicks, up kicks, down kicks, forward kicks, reverse kicks, horizontal kicks, side kicks and other kicks, which is the most important way to practice leg skills and stumble.

In particular, kicking cypress stakes and twisting sticks are particularly important. Not only is it required that beginners learn diligently, but even after formal wrestling, they still have to practice every day. And no matter how high you reach in the future, you always have to practice kicking and twisting.

Because these two equipment exercises actually basically represent the two most important foundations of wrestling, it is not good to learn wrestling directly if you do not practice to a very high level. In other words, only by practicing them can you officially pass on wrestling. Otherwise, even if you learn the tricks, you will still expose your weaknesses in actual combat.

All in all, because of Yu Ye's good teaching, the apprentices also practiced diligently. In the past three years, the two children have not only become stronger day by day, but their size is getting taller day by day, and even their mental temperament is very different from before.

Especially when they occasionally encountered accidents, the two children subconsciously reacted, relying on their early agility to help the adults in the family to fly out of the plate and smash the bowl on the ground, which won the unanimous praise of their parents and relatives.

At this point, the Hong and Chen families were happy in their eyes. Hong Lucheng sincerely thanked Yu Ye for his teaching, while Chen Deyuan was glad that his son had learned the real thing. Each of them thought that there would be no more worries in the future, as long as the children were good, life should be able to live in peace like this, and they had no other luxuries.

It's just that the word "fate" represents surprise, and the reason why people are in awe of it is also because when it appears, more probabilities represent bad luck.

In the summer vacation of 1972, on an ordinary day, the Chen family suddenly suffered a sudden blow of "fate", and their pillar Chen Deyuan died!
