Chapter 2: Letter from the Dursleys
Little Huijin District, No. 4 Privet Road, lives the Dursley family. Pen @ fun @ pavilion wWw. ļ½ļ½ļ½Uļ½Eć info Vernon Dursley, Penny Dursley, and Dudley Dursley. No one would consider Harry Potter, who lived in his house, to be part of the family, and of course, Mr. Potter himself felt the same way. He thinks that the school he attends is his home, and every summer vacation, he just goes to a relative's house for a month or two to borrow it.
The Dursleys did not have a good relationship in the neighborhood, except that Mr. Dursley's temper was a little short-tempered, and the family's baby, Dudley, always liked to bully the neighbor's children. Of course, all the families in this neighborhood don't really have a good relationship with each other.
On this day, for the first time in the day, the Dursleys received two letters in addition to the mall's leaflets, mail-order brochures, and utility bills, but only two letters delivered at the same time, so that the courier had to ring the doorbell, ready to see for himself what kind of family could interact with such two different classes of people at the same time. The envelope of one letter, covered with stamps, looked a little comical, with the address and the recipient's name written on the only remaining exposed, while the other was a little too rigorous. The whole envelope did not seem to have any seals, it looked like a complete paper bag, and the corners were stamped with what looked like some ancient family crest, and on the signature, the title of earl almost blinded the postman's eyes.
Knocking on the door and handing the letter to the bearded middle-aged man, the postman wanted to go up and talk, but when he saw that the middle-aged man's face turned red with normal, the postman immediately turned away, no longer expecting any tips or any words he could say. I heard a "bang", and the door was slammed shut, "You, come to the living room!"
In the living room, Penny took a letter from Vernon Dursley, the letter was for herself, neatly handwritten, neatly folded, and I had to admit that this was a letter that could be considered a work of art, even if it was just a letter.
Carefully tear open the envelope and take out a thin piece of stationery inside, which is an appointment letter for a visit. It reads:
Dear Mrs. Doisley,
I haven't seen each other for two years, and I hope you can remember me, although I came two years ago because of official business and happened to encounter some unpleasant things, but I believe it was just an accident. This Sunday at 5 p.m., I will make a private visit to your home, and I hope we can have a pleasant meeting and exchange.
Countess Holly Lily Peverell
The short letter, but behind it is delicate letterhead, delicate and intricate dark lines, a badge representing the family's power, and a signed earl title, at least in Penny's knowledge, there should be no one with a higher status in the Dursleys' social circle. Even if they had forgotten who had been there two years ago and what had happened, this visit was still worthy of a serious reception for the Dursleys.
On the other side of the living room, Vernon Dursley also had a piece of stationery in his hand.
"A letter, yours. Vernon Dursley raised the purple letter in his hand and said to Harry.
Then look down at the letter and read it aloud:
"Dear Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, we have met Su Wei, but I am sure you know a great deal about my son Ron. ā
"Harry may have told you that the Quidditch World Cup final is going to take place next Monday night, and my husband Arthur got a ticket from the Ministry of Magic through his connections, and I hope you will allow us to pick up Harry to the game, as this may be the only chance of a lifetime. ā
"The United States hasn't been a host for 30 years, and tickets are particularly hard to come by, and of course, we're happy to have Harry spend the rest of the holidays with us, knowing that he's safely on the train back to school. ā
"Please ask Harry to write back to us as soon as possible, in the normal way. Since the non-magical postman never sends our hearts to our home, I'm not sure he knows the address. ā
"Hope to see Harry soon, your sincere Molly Weasley. ā
"P.S. I'm sure I've put enough stamps on it. ā
"Look at this!" Vernon waved the envelope in his hand.
"She's got enough stamps. Harry said, trying to make it sound like a common mistake.
Vernon gritted his teeth, "The postman noticed, and was curious to know where this letter came from... He thought it was funny. ā
Harry couldn't say a word. At that moment, Penny's voice came from the living room, breaking the brief silence.
"Vernon, Sunday afternoon, our family is coming with a guest, and it looks like a very important guest. ā
"Oh, Penny, really? how did I not know?" Vernon glared at Harry, then turned and walked towards the living room, planning to reason with Harry again later.
"Just came the letter. Penny raised the letter in her hand.
"What is this guest for?" asked Vernon as he walked over.
"I don't know, but ...... I think it's worth it. Penny shrugged, she didn't get any valid information from the letter, but the letter itself was informative enough.
"Hmm......" Vernon began to diligently examine every word on the letter with his small eyes.
āā¦ā¦ā
"Well, well, I think we're going to have to make all sorts of preparations, including dinner. Even if the guests don't come, I think we can make for a good family dinner. After all...... We've been eating vegetarian food for a long time this holiday season and need to improve our lives intermittently. Isn't it?Dudley?" Vernon said after a moment's thought, turning his head to look at Dudley.
"Hmm. Dudley nodded. A calorie-controlled diet on a holiday made him miserable. Now that there is an opportunity to eat something else in the open, he naturally will not object. The family then discussed the ingredients they needed to prepare and what they would go out to buy later, completely ignoring Harry Potter who had snuck upstairs.

In the second-floor bedroom, Harry Potter was looking at a note that Ron had written to him: "Harry, Dad got the ticket, Ireland vs. Bulgaria, Monday night." Mom wrote to you asking you to come and stay. They may have sent the letter, but I don't know how fast the postman was. Therefore I have asked the little pig (owl) to send you this letter. Whether they like it or not, we'll pick you up and don't miss this World Cup. It's just that Mom and Dad think it's better to ask for their opinions first, but whatever their opinions, we'll pick you up at 5 p.m. on Sunday. ā¦ā¦ See you soon, Ron. ā
After reading Ron's note, Harry thought back to Mrs. Weasley's letter, which didn't seem to mention when they were coming, and went downstairs to tell the Dursleys.
