Chapter Seventy-One: Bad Luck
The next day, the freshmen went to the classroom in droves.
First-year students are required to take basic courses including mathematics, physics, chemistry, and laboratory in the three semesters of their first year, as well as some science writing and humanities general education courses. The school does not give them a grade, only a "pass/fail" to inform the learning results. This is because, although it is a basic course, it is very difficult and the number of courses is also large, you know, the total credits of the courses they took this year account for almost half of the graduation requirements, and the school does not want students to be hit too hard and affect their enthusiasm for learning in the future. However, even so, most students are unable to complete their first year of study, and many even drop out as a result.
"Hey, Evan, can I take a look at your schedule?"
Although he wanted to avoid him, the school was so big, Evan couldn't avoid it, "William, you're civil engineering, I'm physics, what's the use of looking at my schedule?"
"Of course it works!" Werner Boris Riesenfeld, who was also a physics major, was traveling with Evan. Boris· "The majors are different, but a lot of the courses are the same," Riesenfeld said. Many of the assignments in the school will require multi-disciplinary cooperation, and we can work together as a team. Come, William, I'll give you the timetable!"
"That's what I thought...... William took Werner's hand-copied timetable, and asked Evan as he looked at it, "Evan, do you want to be together?"
Evan was noncommittal, "We'll talk about it then!"
William returned the class schedule to Werner and gossiped: "Charles is really pitiful, he actually fell on all fours in the bathroom on the first day of school, and he doesn't know if it's serious!"
This Charles is also a freshman in the Department of Civil Engineering.
William said with a look of trepidation, "Do you know Werner, he fell next to me and Evan and almost got us involved!"
"So I decided that when I went to see him in the hospital at night, I wouldn't give him apples, not only would I not give them, but I would eat one of them. ”
"Evan, what do you say?"
Evan gave him a blank look, stopped suddenly, pointed to the building next to him, and said, "William, that's it, we're here, the math class you're going to have is still ahead, see you later!"
With that, Evan turned and entered the building.
Werner tapped William on the shoulder, said "see you later", and followed.
William paused on the side of the road, looked at the crowd on the road, and made a sudden decision. He trotted to catch up with Werner and Evan, put his arm around Evan's shoulder, and smiled: "I think physics is more interesting than boring math." Evan, I've decided to skip your lessons. ”
As a straight man of steel, Evan doesn't like a man to be so close to him. He frowned and pulled William's hand off his shoulder.
"William, stay away from me!"
Evan could distance himself from William, but he couldn't stop him from talking.
"Evan, don't, why are you so cold after one night, wait for me!"
Hearing William's words, the students passing by around all looked sideways.
Evan's face darkened, and he could only pretend that he was not Evan, and that I didn't know this person.
Walking into the classroom, Evan casually found an empty seat and sat down. It's a big classroom, and there are a lot of students, not just freshmen.
Werner and Evan sat separately, and William sat in a row behind Evan.
The course is called General Physics, and it has the word ordinary in its name, but it's not ordinary at all — it's worth a full nine credits. THE MAIN TEACHER WAS NAMED ERNEST WATSON (EARNEST· WATSON, A GRAY-HAIRED, BRIGHT-HEADED PROFESSOR WHO WAS ACTUALLY ONLY FORTY-NINE YEARS OLD, WAS THE ACTING CHAIR OF EVAN'S DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS, MATHEMATICS AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING (LATER RENAMED PHYSICS, MATHEMATICS AND ASTRONOMY). Millikan – he also spent 26 years as president of Caltech.
In the first class of the first class, Ewen thought that Professor Watson would nag, talk about gossip, welcome new students or something, but he didn't expect him to go straight to the point, and the lecture was the content of a blackboard.
So everyone was engrossed in writing notes, and only Evan, with a relaxed face, took a long time to put pen to paper.
This "General Physics" is really ordinary physics for him.
Nearly two hours later, the class ended, and everyone had no time to complain about the homework assigned by the professor, so they had to pack their bags and move around.
The next class is in a separate classroom.
This time it's math.
Evan was still at ease.
Eric Bell, who taught this course, said that the class was taught by Eric Bell. Professor Bell, before the lecture began, he called Evan up to get him to know him.
"You're Evan?"
After asking only one question, the professor sat him down.
Others were confused, but Evan guessed some.
This is probably because the professor knows about his article on the mathematical principles in the Rubik's Cube.
That's why Evan was accepted to the school without a letter of recommendation from Governor Earl.
After a short break at noon, the afternoon continues.
And then there's Organic Chemistry.
Well...... This time Evan was not as relaxed as before, there was no way, there were too many proper nouns created by the students in this class, and he had to correspond Chinese and English in his mind.
Evan felt that tomorrow's creatures would not have a good time.
In the evening, the freshmen return to Hovses, where they have to follow the rules and cook dinner together after a day of knowledge bombardment.
Tonight, Evan took turns at DabneyHouse. Before dinner began, Rogers approached him and asked him what he thought.
"Well, the professors are very fast, and the homework is a bit too much...... I guess I don't want to sleep before twelve o'clock!"
“…… That's all?" Rogers looked at Evan's undisguised expression, feeling powerless.
Yes, he is worthy of being a genius who can become a multi-millionaire from scratch at a young age, and he can't accept it.
I don't know when William, who was standing behind the two of them, and heard their conversation, interjected and said, "You want to sleep before twelve o'clock?
William had a plate full of food in his hand, he nodded at Rogers, and said, "Acquaintance, my name is William, Evan friend, can I sit here?"
"Of course......," William's "may" was about to be spoken when he was interrupted.
"Ahh But he could keep his body balanced, but he couldn't do what he was doing, and so, amid the exclamations of William himself and those around him, the plate fell on the table in front of Evan. Caught off guard, the splash of sauce makes Evan and Rogers embarrassed.
"FXXK, William, what are you doing?" Evan yelled at William.
"It's none of my business, someone ......" William shook his hands in a panic, and looked behind him as he explained, trying to find out the real perpetrator, only to find that the person behind him either looked innocent or looked at him with a surprised expression.
It's panic when you don't make a mistake!
Belch...... What can I do?
William scratched his head.
How could I be so unlucky!
