Chapter 12: Silence
Chapter 12 is silent
The new week began with Evan's silent provocation and Robert's tight mouth just not talking.
After a day of buffering and the family's relief, Robert finally accepted the fact that the voice change period had arrived. Although he is still a little depressed, he is ready to be an audience member when he can't go on stage at Christmas.
As for Evan saying that he couldn't be a starring actor and could play a background or something, Robert didn't hear it. He does things, or he doesn't do them, and he wants to do them perfectly. This kind of work is so embarrassing that he doesn't do it.
The siblings arrived at school at their normal pace. After seeing Virginia enter the school, Evan wandered around the school gate with his school bag.
He called Carl yesterday to make an appointment.
After waiting for a few minutes, a car came to an abrupt stop on the side of the road, and Carl stepped out of the driver's seat. His hair was messy and unkempt, and he was obviously in a hurry to go out, and he didn't have time to take care of it.
"I'm sorry, Evan, I'm not late, am I?" asked Carl uneasily, scratching his itchy scalp after returning to Ervan.
"No, it's just right. Actually, it doesn't matter if it's late, you can come to me at school. Evan didn't care if Carl was late, he just wanted to explain his purpose clearly, but at this moment Carl's image was indeed a little unexpected to him, "You're sober now, right?"
"Of course!" Karl nodded incessantly.
"Well, there's one thing that called you here, well, it's urgent, and I want you to do it. Evan nodded suspiciously, took out a file bag from his school bag, and handed it over, "This is my latest new invention, you can help me sell it." โ
"You should know from Albert, he wants you to join my company. It's kind of a test, and if you complete it, you'll get more autonomy. Think about it, it's up to you to say yes or not. โ
"If you say yes, I only have two requests: first, sell as high as possible, and second, today is the 22nd, and I want you to complete the task within ten days, I mean get the cash. โ
"Now, if you have any questions, just ask them as soon as possible, it's almost time to ring, I don't have much time. โ
Carl subconsciously took the file bag, and after listening to Evan's words, he didn't rush to open the file bag to find out, but scratched his scalp and said, "Well, I won't ask you why you're in a hurry to get cash, I only have a few small questions." โ
You ask. โ
"Are you sure it has value and can be sold?"
"Sure!"
"Is there a reserve price?"
"Of course there is, but I won't tell you! It's up to you to judge whether the price is right or not, and it will determine what you think of me. โ
"It's tough, but I like it. Finally, is the authorship sold? You know, you're giving too little time......"
"Yes!"
"Alright, I've accepted the task!" Karl patted the bag and promised, "Please wait for my good news, I promise to sell it for a good price." โ
"Thank you, please try to keep this matter as confidential as possible, and after the matter is completed, you can take 10% of it. Finally, I have to go in, and you'd better check if you can drive when you get back. Bye-bye!"
After saying this, Evan didn't wait for Carl to reply, and immediately ran quickly to the school gate.
After seeing Evan disappear, Carl returned to the car, took out a cigarette from the storage box, lit it, and after a few minutes, Carl, who was much better, opened the file bag and pulled out the materials inside. There is not much information, only about a dozen pages, which is a fraction of the information about the instant noodles handed to him last time.
The first thing that catches Karl's eye is a blueprint.
"Suitcase?
Ten seconds later, the Ford started violently and sped away like a mad beast.
The next few days were calm.
On October 24, the Charter of the United Nations came into force, and the United Nations, one of the achievements of World War II, was officially established.
On October 26, Colin, who had not been heard from for two months, sent a letter back to everyone in the family. After receiving the letter, Virginia carefully avoided Earl and Nina, and held a small meeting with her four younger siblings.
On Saturday, October 27, Evan hid from Virginia and went to Twelfth Avenue alone. He was going to see none other than Audrey.
Evan hadn't been in a relationship in his previous life, but after actually dating Audrey, he was unprecedentedly nervous, so much so that he kept jokes at first, such as accidentally stumbling and almost falling flat in front of Audrey, such as almost using Alexander as a coin when he took the bus to the cinema. Fortunately, Evan is not a "real" hairy guy after all, and after the powerful calming effect of a soul much more mature than his physical age, Evan quickly returns to his normal state of mind. AFTER WALKING INTO THE MOVIE THEATER ON GARFIELD AVENUE AND ASKING AUDREY FOR HER OPINION, EVAN BOUGHT TICKETS FOR A MOVIE CALLED STATE FAIR. Finding a place, the two sat down, and after a while, the screening room fell into darkness, and a moment later, the screen appeared and the film began.
As the movie began to show, somehow, Evan suddenly let out a long breath. At this moment, Audrey's silver bell-like laughter rang in Evan's ears. The laughter was short and abruptly stopped.
Evan looked sideways at Audrey and saw her covering her mouth and a smile in her bright eyes.
Evan opened and closed his lips and asked silently, "You, laughing, what?"
Audrey put down her hand, shook her head, and smiled without saying a word.
Seeing that Audrey didn't answer, Evan stopped asking and returned his attention to the curtain.
Unbeknownst to Evan was that he was watching a movie, and Audrey, who was beside him, stared at his side face for a while.
He's tall, he's careful, and he's taking care of people.
Sometimes he has a poisonous mouth, sometimes he is careless, and he is distracted in class, but his grades are still outstanding.
He said he was a hero.
So, will he be my hero?
Audrey was restless and imaginative.
At this time, at the ticket office outside the screening hall, two Lori, one black and one red, were fighting each other for which "Cat and Mouse" to watch, and Robert, who was sandwiched in the middle, was in a dilemma, and he couldn't choose which one was right. Virginia, who was standing next to her, was silent, regretting why she had brought them out.
I'll just be alone in following Evan's affairs, and I'm just asking for trouble when I bring them out!
Well, now I know that Evan and her girlfriend (as Virginia believes) are in the movie theater, but I don't know which movie they are watching. If you don't know the movie, you don't know when they will end, but do you want to wait at the door?
Looking at Robert, who was about to be split in half by Dora and Dorothy and was asking her for help with her eyes, Virginia sighed silently and gave up her plan to "tailgating". She showed the majesty of her eldest sister, knocked on the heads of Dora and Dorothy, and said: "Watch "Keep Quiet", I will pay for the ticket, and I am not allowed to complain, so it is decided!"
Dora: "ใ (โงโโฆ) ใ"
Dorothy: "(>_<)"
Robert: "โโ(*^- ใ)v THX!!"
