Chapter 700: Science Fiction
"Write a work that can be called a classic!!"
Xu Qian fell into his own thoughts!
There are many works that can be called classics, such as Mo Yan's, but Mo Yan's works are somewhat out of line with this era!
You said that if you write "Life and Death Fatigue", "Frog" and other books will always make people feel a little embarrassed!
There are also Shen Congwen, Qian Zhongshu, Ba Jin, the writing of these people's works is so good, Xu Qian is afraid that it will be a little out of place to write it all at once!
And their works are also somewhat out of this era!
There are also some foreign works, such as "Wuthering Heights", "Jane Eyre" and so on!
These works are actually good, but these works are likely to be unsuitable, after all, they are foreign works!
Moreover, these works are written by foreigners, and our Chinese people will take a high look at them, but if they write them themselves, they will find all kinds of thorns, saying that they are all Chinese, there is no Western classical charm at all, the setting is not rigorous, the characters are not well shaped, and so on!
Suddenly, Xu Qian saw a piece of news on the Internet: "Galaxy Award Essay!"
The Galaxy Award (formerly known as the China Science Fiction Galaxy Award) is the highest honor in the field of Chinese fantasy (mainly science fiction, later added to the selection of other related projects), and the only science fiction award in Chinese mainland.
The award-winning works represent the highest level of science fiction creation in Chinese mainland, and as the highest honor in China's fantasy industry, it has built a platform for Chinese science fiction writers, science fiction lovers, fantasy writers and fantasy lovers to display their works.
Originally established in 1986, Science Literature and Art (now Science Fiction World) and Wisdom Tree are jointly organized by two popular science publications. After the publication of "Wisdom Tree" was discontinued, the Galaxy Award was changed to be held exclusively by "Science Fiction World".
"There are also many classics in science fiction!"
For example, Neil Stephenson of The Book of Coding.
Written by Neil Stephenson in 1999, this 1999 book tells the intricate and interconnected story of a codebreaker during World War II and a geek in 1997.
And "Dune" - Frank Herbert.
This classic is a story that takes place on a desert planet and also tells the power of the spice Melange.
And, of course, "The Rainbow of Gravity" – Thomas Pynchon.
A postmodernist classic, the story is set at the end of World War II, and its events mainly revolve around the V2 rocket program of country D.
This is a book that many people pretend to have read, but in fact, not many people have read it, because the beginning is too boring, but it is sunny to survive the beginning!
And "Base" - Isaac Asimov.
Cornell once boldly said, "In an age when chaos theory has destroyed psychohistory and works are based on that big idea, 'Base' has become a classic that has been discussed far more than read." ”
Although Asimov's robot story "will perhaps remain a must-read for science fiction primers forever." ”
Cadigan also impassionedly reminds people that they should actually read "Base" and not just discuss it: "people "should read it, because it's Asimov, which is one thing, and on the other, it's the most genius example of applying mathematics to science fiction." ”
And, of course, "The Great Magician" - Suzanne Clarke.
A heterogeneous history that tells the story of a long-lost magic that returns to 19th-century England.
It's a work that everyone talks about, but a lot of people don't bother to read because it's "big and thick."
Science fiction is science fiction!
In any sense, Chinese literature has always had a tradition of fantasy.
As early as the pre-Qin period, the mythological stories have been full of majestic imagination, "Classic of Mountains and Seas" in the well-known "Kuafu chasing the sun", "Houyi shooting the sun", "Jingwei reclamation", "Dayu to control the water", "Zhuhai measuring the earth", "Yihe bathing day" and so on, all of them show a magnificent imagination when outlining the various possible relationships between man and nature.
After ancient mythology, philosophers' thinking about nature, whether it is the Confucian "utopian" ideal pursuit, or the Taoist interpretation of the relationship between man and nature, are the immortal products of the imagination of Chinese children.
If it weren't for such a strict definition, no matter what kind of science fiction genre could find a corresponding work in our traditional culture. "Liezi Tang Wen" in a "Yanshi", may be the earliest science fiction in China, or the world's earliest robot science fiction, about the story of the Yanshi dedicated a delicate puppet to King Zhou Mu (see the end note for details), contemporary Chinese science fiction writers have written countless wonderful science fiction works based on this story, here is mainly recommended Dajiao Pan Haitian's "The Legend of Yanshi"; Tao Yuanming's "The Story of the Peach Blossom Spring" have been read, which outlines a picture of "I don't know what Han is about Wei and Jin" Will it remind us of the famous Thomas More "Utopia", and as a utopia, "The Peach Blossom Spring" predates "Utopia" by 1,200 years.
Li Ruzhen's "Mirror Flowers" is like the contemporaneous "Gulliver's Travels", which satirizes the social reality of the time by fictionalizing all kinds of different cultures, which belongs to the category of social science fiction.
Xu Zhonglin's "Romance of the Gods" is also a fantasy born with the help of a historical event, in which all kinds of gods fight each other in the land of people, all kinds of weapons from different spaces and all kinds of bloody battles between protagonists with super powers, will remind you of the popular "X-Men", "Star Wars" and other heroic epic sci-fi movies.
There are also many machine slaves, immortality, and flying instruments scattered in various myths, histories, and strange books, such as Zhang Ling's "Flying Wooden Kite" in "Chao Ye Zai", Shen Kuo's "Dream Creek Miscellaneous" "Rejuvenating Medicine", Hong Mai's "Yi Jianzhi" "Self-boiling Clay Bottle", "Mosquito Repellent", "Wonderful Dyes", "Jaw Transplantation" and so on.
However, if you want to define it strictly, all the above can only be regarded as fantasy, not real science fiction.
"The Lunar Colony" by Huangjiang Diaosu is the first science fiction in China in the opinion of Mr. Ye Yonglie, although it was not completed, and was only serialized 35 times in 1904 in the magazine "Embroidered Image", about 130,000 words.
China's first complete science fiction also appeared in 1904, and it was "Mr. Tan of the New Conch" written by Xu Nianci, the "East China Sea Jue Me".
Gu Junzheng's Dream of Peace, a collection of short stories "Under the North Pole", published in 1939, is the first science fiction collection in the history of Chinese science fiction.
And the glorious era of science fiction in my country was created by a magazine, and that magazine is "Science Fiction World"!
Through the cultivation and influence of "Science Fiction World", the talents of contemporary Chinese science fiction writers have multiplied, and these writers have very different writing styles and concerns, and their language characteristics are also very obvious, and their works take into account both scientific and literary, and also enrich the genre of Chinese science fiction.
He Xi's "Six Beings" and "The Sadder", Lao Wang Wang Jinkang's "Seven Shells", "Ant Life", "Cross", Han Song's "Metro", "High-speed Rail", and of course, Liu Cixin, who is now thunderous and famous, "Country Teacher", "The Wandering Earth", "Full-Band Blocking Interference", "Earth Cannon", "Supporting God", "Supporting Mankind", "Supernova Era", "Ball Lightning" and so on, as well as the "Three-Body Problem" trilogy.
Mentioned above are the four most famous writers in the history of contemporary Chinese science fiction, as well as their classics.
In addition, there are many good science fiction authors, among which I especially like Liu Gongzi Liu Wenyang, his "One Day Prisoner" is also a classic, but unfortunately Liu Gongzi died young, and he is really jealous of his talents.
There is also the big horn Pan Haitian, the "Legend of Yanshi" mentioned at the beginning is his masterpiece, and the big horn later wrote more fantasy, and the famous "Kyushu" was created by him and six other authors.
Galaxy, his "Duel on the Internet" can be said to be China's first influential "cyberpunk" science fiction.
Qian Lifang, her "Providence" was a sensation, and she must have been influenced by the very popular "New Song" by A Yue.
Fei Deuterium, a very young science fiction writer, studied in the Chinese Department of Tsinghua University, and it is also good to watch his "Chinese Science Fiction Blockbuster" recently launched.
Baoshu, famous for continuing to write "Three-Body Problem X", watch more of his "Ruins of Time", which is generally good, but unfortunately the ending is not as good as I want.
Chen Qiufan, one of my favorites and favorites among the new generation of science fiction writers, his "Desert Tide" is very good-looking, and I highly recommend it.
And since Xu Qian has decided to write a science fiction classic, he can just choose one from so many excellent works!
He has already made a decision, and this decision is "The Three-Body Problem"!
