Volume 3 Exotic Divine Path Chapter 12 The Bureau of Life and Death (Qi)

At the exit of the three corridors, the floor that had been broken by the battle of the gods became smooth again, but the ground that was originally as black as ink was now as bright as gold, and it exuded a charming luster under the light curtain projected by the hole in the dome.

Perhaps the phrase "bright as gold" is not accurate enough. Because, the whole piece of the ground has been turned into a piece of real gold with a pure texture and no impurities!!

Of course, there's more to gold than that.

On this golden earth, there are countless pairs of feet, or rather, the limbs of wild beasts.

These are the endless black tides. It turned out that these so-called black tides were not tides at all, but hideous beasts—dead soul beasts, soul beasts that came from the abyss of hell and had no substance.

At this moment, these disembodied, nightmarish shadows are all from the inside out, and every cell and even every atom that makes them up has been transformed into the purest "gold" in the world.

He who has no body has a body at this moment, but at the cost of losing his freedom and life.

And in the middle of the starlight curtain where the holes in the dome were all shot down, Li Juntian was standing there with a long sword in his hand.

Suddenly, the starry sky suddenly collapsed, and it was dark in all directions - but it was Li Juntian who put away the long sword in his hand. I saw her stretch out her bare hand and touch her chin lightly, her bright eyes ignoring the darkness around her, and taking in everything in front of her clearly.

"Tsk. Li Jun leaned his lips and sighed softly, just like an art lover participating in the statue exhibition judging the dazzling array of exhibits in front of him, "I have to say that your aesthetics are really bad." ”

Among these hideous beast-shaped statues, there are seven golden statues of human beings that resemble marble figures of ancient Greece.

These statues all have the same handsome faces and equally toned physiques. The only difference is the expression of these statues. The faces of these statues are filled with greed, some cry out with anger, and when you count them carefully, gluttony, lust, greed, rage, laziness, sorrow, arrogance, and the "seven deadly sins" mentioned by the Church can all be corresponded to in this statue of the human figure.

And behind this large golden statue, there is a more dignified and viscous black tide - now, it seems that it should become a tide of soul beasts.

"Amazing, amazing. As if in response to Li Jun's tilt, in the depths of the soul beast tide, a pleasant voice came. The sound is steady, gentle, and naturally has a convincing charm, like a well-brewed wine, which is intoxicating.

"I can't imagine that the Star Monarch has such a subtle means to continuously confine the soul of Lucifer, the Lord of Hell, to the undead corps of the Hell, in a embodied entity, and even the ethereal emotion of the negative emotions exuded by His Majesty Lucifer himself can be forcibly transformed into a substance and surrender to Your Excellency's 'concept', which is really a good means. ”

The beautiful voice continued in Chinese with straight words. Hearing this wonderful voice, even a big Luo Jinxian like Li Juntian couldn't help but raise the corners of his mouth slightly, revealing an intoxicated smile. And her starry eyes glowed with a charming glow from this intoxication.

Suddenly!

At the moment when Li Jun's eyes flickered, a muffled snort came from the depths of the soul beast tide.

Immediately after, a figure stumbled out.

The neck of this "man" remained its original shape, but his head, along with his neck, had turned into the same gold as the statue in front of him.

The next moment, the man was only left with the golden part, and his body disappeared into the air like water vapor.

"Mirror doppelganger," the smile on Li Junting's face became brighter, "After all these years, you still only hide yourself behind these ridiculous and pathetic things." ”

"Are you so cowardly?" After saying this, Li Juntian said a name in a tone of undisguised disgust and contempt:

"Loki. ”

Exegesis:

Note (1): Seven deadly sins: Seven deadly sins, there are seven sources of sin. The 13th-century Dominican priest St. Thomas Aquinas enumerated various manifestations of evil. Catholic doctrine states that "according to the views of John Gesian and the religious Gregory I, the great evils that often encounter the faithful are discerned".

"Significant" here means that these evil deeds are the source of evil, such as the thief's desire to be greedy. ("Grave evils" are not to be confused with unpardonable grave sins.) )

These evils were originally written by the Greek theological monk Pang Yifa to describe eight evils that damage one's spirituality: gluttony, lust, greed, anger, laziness, sorrow, conceit, or arrogance. Pang Yifa observed that people at that time gradually became self-centered, especially proud. Laziness here means "mental laziness."

In the late sixth century, Pope Evinlevus I reduced the eight sources of sin to seven, sorrow and laziness, conceit and arrogance, and jealousy. His ranking criterion is the degree of violation of love. The order is: arrogance, jealousy, anger, laziness, greed, lust, gluttony.

St. Thomas Aquinas, the famous theologian of the Middle Ages, wrote On Evil in his commentary on Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics, in which religious sins were described in the following order: Vain Glory, Envy, Spiritual Apathy, Anger, Avarice, Gluttony, and Sexual Lust)。

In the Divine Comedy, Dante ranks the seven deadly sins in order of the gravity of the evil deeds, followed by the following:

(1) Lust - unlawful decent, e.g. **. (Dante's criterion is to "love each other too much," and to do so would belittle God's love for people.)

(2) Bulimia - wasting food, or over-indulgence, alcoholism or overstocking of food. (Dante's view is "too much pleasure in pleasure")

(3) Greed - Greed for wanting to possess more than is needed. (Or, in Dante's view, greed is "an overzealous desire to seek financial or power superiority")

(4) Laziness - laziness and waste of time. (Laziness is declared guilty because others have to work harder to fill in the gaps, but they are not doing what they should be doing, which is a disservice to themselves.) This involves the destruction of the equilibrium: one side pays more than the other. From Dante's theological point of view, laziness is "the failure to love God with all your heart, to love God with all your spirit, and to love God with all your heart" – specifically laziness, cowardice, lack of imagination, contentment, and irresponsibility)

(5) Anger - the inappropriate (evil) feeling that arises from hatred, revenge or denial of another person, in addition to the power conferred by the law, the exercise of the intention to punish another person is also classified as anger.

(6) Jealousy - resentment because the other person has more assets than you own (the love for one's own assets has degenerated into a desire to hate the owner of other better things)

(7) Arrogance - expecting others to look at you or loving yourself excessively. Feeling superior to others because of what you have, positioning yourself as a being better than God or others.
