Chapter 11 Changes with the Times
Chapter 11 Changes with the Times
1. Why do you say that "Hetu and Luoshu" have no scientific value?
To answer this question, we first need to understand what science is. The meaning of science is first of all the meaning of classification and learning, "refers to the study of various knowledge through detailed classification (such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, etc.) to form a gradually complete knowledge system" (Baidu). The second is a summary of the methods of practical verification of the development of things, as well as a summary of the regularity of the objective existence of things. "It is a general term for the knowledge system of human beings to explore, study and perceive the laws of change in the universe."
From this point of view, the "river map" is still somewhat related to science. But "Vena" is completely detached from the meaning of science. Why?
Why? It's not a bad thing to ask a few more whys. The Chinese lack this spirit, because the Chinese advocate closed conservatism and crack down on opening up and invigorating. Therefore, since ancient times, the Chinese have been obedient people who have lived under authority, and the hard-working and capable bees in the sealed box are obedient and obedient.
The theoretical framework of the "river diagram" is based on binary numbers, and binary numbers are now scientifically proven to be related to the origin of the universe, but it is not enough to prove that binary numbers can verify the origin of the universe, and it is just speculation. The theoretical basis applied by "Luoshu" is completely the research and perception of the exploration of the universe created by the Chinese. Because the "Emperor is out of shock" on which "Luo Shu" is based, talking about popularity and change, there is no such thing as "Luo Shu", so "Luo Shu" is not within the scope of scientific knowledge at all, and of course it is not science.
Then, since "Vena" can be passed down and endured for thousands of years, it must have the value of its existence.
So, what kind of knowledge should "Vena" belong to?
To answer this question, we must first understand what science is. Science is, first and foremost, a clearly categorized variety of different forms of learning, an inductive summary of old knowledge. However, "Hetu and Luoshu" are not clearly classified studies. In particular, the fundamental reason why "Vena" has become a round culture in the later period of Chinese culture lies in the emergence of "Vena". Since the birth of "Vena", Chinese culture has begun to be mixed up and confused. The reason is that "the emperor is out of shock", talking about popularity, talking about changes, talking about yin and yang contracts, and talking about the consequences of negative yin and yang.
Since its inception, the "Luoshu" gossip has been pursuing a popular image, exploring the laws of natural change in the changing world, and proving and verifying the laws of change in the natural world through the observation practice that the Chinese have learned. Although it is not completely scientific now, it is very rare to get such an accurate cycle timetable - the lunar calendar under the conditions at that time, and it is very rare to be able to get such an accurate time change cycle calendar.
So, why do you say that "Vena" is not scientific? It is very simple, or is it because "Vena" is a study that is not clearly classified. The round culture produced by "Luoshu" did not push Chinese culture to the peak of science, but laid chaos in front of the Chinese, so that the Chinese could not overcome the chasm set by the "emperor out of the earthquake" after 3,000 years, did not get rid of the strange circle of "rare confusion", and were always in the Taiji of "negative yin and yang" 96-style thinking, unable to explore a more scientific, more magical, and more distinct natural world.
Attributed to all the reasons, it is very simple, it is the reason why the "Emperor is out of shock" on which the "Luo Shu" is based, rearranges the order of the innate eight trigrams, and adds a five in the center.
Don't underestimate the rearrangement of the numbers in the "Vena Book", the number combination after the rearrangement of the "Vena Book" has completely departed from the binary number principle. The rearranged and combined numbers of "Vena" have surpassed the principle of binary numbers and entered the fantasy world of polymetric geometric progression. However Chinese due to the problems of scientific classification methods and the extremely closed range of binary numbers set by the "Hetu", the ancient Chinese could not see the scientific scene of multilateral geometric progression, and could not overcome the chaotic world in front of Chinese eyes, and finally led to the inability of Chinese culture to enter a clear and unambiguous scientific world of classification and learning.
For example, Feng Shui derived from the numerical arrangement of "Vena Shu". Guo Pu's ancient book "Funeral Sutra" said: "Qi is dispersed by the wind, and the boundary water is stopped, and the ancients gathered to make it not disperse, and the line is stopped, so it is called feng shui." In the method of feng shui, the water is the first, and the Tibetan wind is secondary. ”
Ancient Feng Shui is also known as Kanyushu. Kan, the way of heaven. Authentic, authentic. The so-called feng shui is actually a sentence, look at where the wind comes from, and check where the water goes. The wind comes to the acupoint, and the water goes to the bay, that is, the feng shui. That is, the so-called Yang Kan Heavenly Dao Weather, looking down on the water of the earth.
In the vernacular, it is whether the air currents blown by the Kamchatka wind can form a vortex in a certain area, and this vortex can play a role in avoiding the wind current. In other words, it can avoid the blowing of strong winds and form a shelter in a state of obvious whirlpool, which is what the ancients called the wind cave. The correct answer to the wind cave is to avoid the wind and form an obvious image of the air vortex, and the center of the wind vortex is called the acupuncture point, also called the wind cave.
Knowing the meaning of the wind acupoint, the acupuncture point of water is easy to understand. The acupuncture point of water refers to the place where the water flows from the river and the stream, forming an obvious bend, and the water flow forms a whirlpool of water at the bend, and this place is the place where the water is flowing, that is, the acupuncture point of the water.
To sum up, the "Book of Changes" says, "The stars drive the weather, the mountains and rivers drive the earth's qi, the weather is yang, the earth's qi is yin, yin and yang are intertwined, the heaven and the earth are dense, and all things breed." "Therefore, the ancient Chinese attached great importance to public opinion, and the positioning of general cities must be public opinion, especially the country is more serious in the selection of the capital. For example, Xi'an, Luoyang, Beijing, Nanjing, Kaifeng, Datong, Shenyang and other cities that have become imperial capitals are all related to Kanyu.
"The Classic of Mountains and Seas": Gonggong can't touch the surrounding mountains, so that the pillars are broken, the earth is lacking, the sky is tilted to the northwest, and the earth is sunk to the southeast. The sky is not in the northwest, so the sun, moon and stars are bright. The land is not in the southeast, so the water and dust return.
The Book of Changes says, "Yin and yang are intertwined, heaven and earth are dense, and all things breed." "So the ancients had very high requirements for wind and water caves, first of all, this place had to be a haven, and secondly, it had to be rich in groundwater. In other words, the location of the city must first meet the risk of avoiding storms, and secondly, it must be close to the river, the inlet area, and the place must have sufficient water sources. It is suitable to choose urban land.
So what kind of place is suitable for a city?
What is the place where "yin and yang intersect, heaven and earth are dense"? I use a very cheesy but very easy to understand phrase, that is, the place where a woman's umbilicus intersects with yin, and here is "yin and yang intersect, heaven and earth are dense, and all things breed." "The place. This is a place sheltered from the wind and the sun, flooded, and a place where all things grow.
For example, Beijing, Beijing is the intersection of the Northwest Mountain Range and the Northeast Mountain Range, where the two major mountain ranges are backed, overlooking the North China Plain, forming a swirl of northwest wind and northeast wind direction, just forming the center of the whirlpool.
So today people often say that Beijing is seriously foggy, but in fact, many people don't know that if there is no fog in Beijing, it is a big problem. If there is no spring and autumn fog in the Beijing area, it means that the wind direction has changed and the vortex of the wind cave cannot be formed, then this place is no longer a treasure of feng shui. Therefore, today we cannot attribute all bad fog to human factors, and the cave flow of wind direction is also an important reason.
Another example is Xi'an and Luoyang, both of which have one thing in common, that is, they are facing the river with their backs to the mountains.
Xi'an, back mountain, south of the Qinling Mountains. Towards the river, the north is bordered by the Wei River. Xi'an is located in the middle of the Guanzhong Plain, and was known as Chang'an in ancient times. So the environment here is very suitable for human habitation.
Luoyang is more distinctive, Luoyang is located in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, the geographical location is just in the platform of Yi, Luo, Qian, Jian and other rivers, and is located in the Central Plains, the mountains and rivers are vertical and horizontal, the west is based on the Qinling Mountains, the east is adjacent to Songyue, and the south looks at the barberry. Therefore, Luoyang is known as "the rivers and mountains are arched, and the situation is the best in the world".
These areas have been places of dispersion since ancient times, and they are very suitable for human habitation.
There is a more important reason why these three places have been used as imperial capitals for a long time, that is, they are convenient for ruling the country.
Such as Xi'an and Luoyang. Before the Yuan Dynasty, China's territory was an oval-shaped country formed by relying on the Yellow River Basin, and the country's economic lifeline mainly came from the east and west, and the north and south were secondary.
During the Yuan Dynasty, China's borders underwent major changes, changing to a north-south direction, and economic development expanded to the north and south, and the Yellow River Valley was no longer the country's economic lifeline, so Beijing's geographical superiority was highlighted. As a result, Beijing, as the center of the country, can sit in the north and face south, overlooking the world.
So, now looking back, is the Feng Shui science derived from Vena Shu scientific?
The answer, of course, is unscientific.
Why?
The reason is very simple, Chinese feng shui is a public opinion, there is no scientific basis, its theoretical framework is completely from the virtual "emperor out of the earthquake" described by the yin and yang structure, can not be verified by practice to verify its authenticity, it is based on such a virtual hypothesis, so since ancient times the Chinese themselves have regarded it as a metaphysics, Xuan Xuan things to see, nature and the real classification science is not much related.
But, Hegel said, to be is to be reasonable. Since Chinese Feng Shui has existed for thousands of years and has not disappeared, it must have the rationality of its existence. So, where is the rationality?
The rationality lies in the truth I said above.
The rationality of Kanyushu lies in the fact that it attaches importance to natural selection, that is, to choose a natural environment suitable for human habitation according to the laws of nature, so that people can settle down. And in the settlements to find the most suitable environment for people to live, in order to achieve the purpose of ensuring the safety of life. This includes issues such as personal safety and physical health, and in this kind of wind cave and water bay area near the mountains and waters, first of all, this kind of place is easy to defend and difficult to attack, which can defend against foreign invasion and ensure the personal safety of residents. Secondly, this kind of place is a safe haven, which can be protected from storms and ensure that residents are not disturbed by wind currents. Thirdly, the groundwater is abundant and is not plagued by water shortage. This is the source of rationality.
However, due to the fallacy of "Vena" on the popularity and volatile principle, all products derived from "Vena" as a theoretical basis are pseudoscience. The veracity of its theories cannot be measured by scientific standards.
In fact, the reason is very simple, these things ceased to be the tools of metaphysical application as early as the Han Dynasty. After that, the exile to the people is enough to tell the story.
Before the Qin and Han dynasties, the warlock of "Zhou Yi" was a state administrator, managing the country's major policies, and cooperating with national leaders to decide major guidelines and policies.
However, society is developing, humanity is progressing, and civilization is being discovered. When people find that the doctrine of the Yin and Yang Five Elements Warlock cannot solve the problems actually encountered in life, people will no longer be superstitious about these so-called magic numbers and spells. Especially on major issues, such as the issue of determining the fate of the country, in the early days, due to the limitations of people's understanding, the royal power was very superstitious about the so-called magic numbers and spells with the "Zhou Yi" as the theoretical framework, but the results were often not credible, and the events that led to the ruin of the country and the death of the family appeared repeatedly. Therefore, when the society developed to the Han Dynasty, the kings were no longer superstitious about the so-called alchemists and warlocks, of course, the number of spells and spells with the theoretical framework of "Zhou Yi" was the inevitable result of withdrawing from the political arena.
All the studies that cannot become metaphysics can only be regarded as a professional minority of folk academic research, and cannot enter the field of knowledge for everyone to learn and apply.
This is the basic situation of the Chinese Shushu School derived from the theoretical framework of the Zhou Yi after the Han Dynasty. This is not the case today, but since the Han Dynasty. The situation of the Chinese Shushu School has been underground workers since the Han Dynasty, even if it is Zhuge Liang, Liu Bowen and others who are admired by everyone, their identities are not Fangshi, but Confucian scholars.
Therefore, "Hetu and Luoshu" have no scientific value, not only because of the argument, but more importantly, it is impossible to test their truth with real data, and the results obtained from the practice test are often uncertain or even failing, and the consequences caused by this are irreversible.
However, as a kind of professional minority of folk academic research, "Hetu and Luoshu" still have their valuable significance.
Since most of the cultural products derived from "Hetu and Luoshu" are virtual assumptions, uncertainty has become a criticism of Chinese culture.
For example, Chinese medicine, which best represents the elements of Chinese culture. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment is about reasoning, prediction, uncertainty, and etiology, but in fact, the so-called etiology is about hypocrisy, and about the non-existence before existence.
For example, when Chinese medicine looks at the condition of a patient with kidney disease, the first thing that comes to his mind is not kidney disease, but the cause of kidney disease, which is to find the higher organ of kidney function, the lungs, according to the theory of yin and yang and the five elements. See if there is a problem with the lungs, treat the lungs, and then treat the kidneys.
However, Western medicine is pragmatic and practical, and treats people wherever they are sick. If there is a kidney disease, seek medical attention for the kidney, and the medicine will cure the disease. It doesn't take so many weeks, unlike traditional Chinese medicine that has not yet reached the source of the disease, so that the patient suffers from the disease in vain and wastes precious time. This is also the fundamental reason why Chinese medicine is not favored by contemporary Chinese.
This is the difference between Eastern and Western cultures, one is hypocritical, the other is realistic, and it is also a gap.

This hexagram depicts the life of the emperor and the people in a stable and peaceful environment. The emperor marries his daughter in a stable and peaceful environment, which is auspicious and prosperous. In a stable and peaceful environment, the people plucked weeds for food and stockpiled food for emergencies. At the same time, it emphasizes the principle of stability and peace, and stresses credit. As long as you have credit, even if you don't have savings, if you go to the neighbor's house to take it, others will not guard against you. The importance of credibility in a stable and peaceful environment is emphasized.
However, this hexagram, which was originally a stable and peaceful environment, was interpreted by Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism as "Heaven and earth, Tai." Later, the way of heaven and earth is made by wealth (cutting), supplemented by the appropriateness of heaven and earth, and the morality of "the king is close to the people".
Here are four sentences to sum up:
Gentleman and people should be moral,
Hypocrisy, empathy, righteousness, chastity, and adultery.
Civilians feed on thatch,
The emperor's marriage is boundless.
