In Buddhism, the achievement of body luminescence and natural incineration such as rainbow transformation is not unique to Dzogchen. As early as when the Buddha passed away, it had already appeared. There is such a record in the "Five Lantern Huiyuan".
"Then the whole coffin is lifted, and the seven dora trees are high, and they go back and forth in the air, turning fire into samadhi. It must be gray for a moment, and you have to relic. That is, the fifteenth day of the second month of the fifty-second year of King Mu. 」
In the Later Nirvana Sutra, it is recorded in more detail, that is, "When the time comes, with great compassion, from the heart, the fire swells outside the coffin, and gradually falls. 」
It can be seen that the achievement of this kind of fire samadhi is from the heart, self-emitting fire, and the flame is also very violent, and can even gush out of the coffin. This is also very similar to the rainbow of later generations.
Wang Zhong still knows a little about this rainbow, because there have been many examples of rainbowization in the mainland. One of the most famous is Master Shi Guxing, a disciple of the old monk Xuyun.
On this night, Monk Gu Xing went to the old monk Xuyun's meditation room as usual to knock on peace, but today he couldn't help but bow down sadly to the ground. He said, "Master, the disciple is going! I am here to say goodbye! After the disciple is gone, who will wait for the master?" The old monk Xuyun said: "Good boy, what should you do, you can do it! Don't miss your big business! I am here to recite the scriptures to help you." ”
After nightfall, the mage of the prison made rounds and named him, but he could not find the monk Guxing, and everyone could not find him. Just as everyone was talking, they suddenly saw a dazzling white light flashing several times, straight into the night sky, illuminating brightly. The villagers who lived outside the temple and were enjoying the shade before they fell asleep also saw a strong white light rising into the sky in the temple, thinking that the Buddhist temple was on fire and hurriedly ran in.
The monks and the villagers found the place where the white light came from, lit the torch and took a look, but saw that the monk Gu Xing was upright, his eyes were half-closed, smiling, his feet were folded, and he was sitting motionless.
The old monk told everyone that the monk Gu Xing had sat down, and the white light that everyone saw just now was the light of the true fire of Samadhi sent by the monk Gu Xing, and he had burned himself to ashes with the real fire, and if he vibrated slightly, it would turn into a pile of ashes, and everyone should not touch him.
Everyone carefully looked at the monk Guxing, only to see that he was wearing a robe, holding a chime in his left hand, holding a wooden fish in his right hand, sitting towards the west, his face was like life, but there was no ups and downs of breathing, he was clearly a living Guxing monk, but the wooden fish handle, the chime handle, the monk's shoes, and the rice stalk and futon where he sat have all turned into ashes.
When the old monk Xuyun saw that the monk Guxing was shown in the body of Ruixiang, he wished the monk Guxing to keep it for one more day, so that the reporter could take photos to keep the evidence, so as to spread it to the world and transform sentient beings.
The next day, the old monk invited "Kun. Tomorrow Daily" photojournalist, Yunnan Provincial Governor Tang Jiyao, Director Wang of the Department of Finance Zhucun, Director Zhang of the Water Conservancy Bureau, Humble Xian, people from all walks of life, and Buddhists came to pay their respects.
The old monk Xuyun saw that the merits of the monk Guxing had been completed, so he took down the small chime in the hands of the monk in public, and said to the monk Guxing, "You can go west with confidence", while tapping the small chime, knocking until the third sound, the whole body of the monk Guxing vibrate, and it was dumped into ashes in an instant.
The old monk Xuyun, who was the master, knelt down in front of the public, and the Tang Governor and thousands of guests also knelt down. The next day, "Kun 0 Ming Daily" published news and photos with headlines, causing a sensation throughout Yunnan. When the whole body is burned to ashes, how can it not fall down? What kind of fire can burn a person's whole body to ashes? If it is burned to ashes, how can it maintain its original appearance, posture, and appearance? When the whole body is burned to ashes, how can the robe be in good condition?...... Too much is incredible, so that Yunnan people have a firmer belief in Buddhism, and tens of thousands of people come to the mountain to worship.

At the beginning of the 7th century, after Songtsen Gampo moved the capital to Lhasa, in order to marry Princess Wencheng of the Tang Dynasty, three nine-story buildings with a total of 1,000 palaces were built on the Red Mountain, which was named Potala Palace. According to historical records, there is a silver and copper bridge between the inner and outer cities of Hongshan, Songtsan Gampo and Princess Wencheng's palace. Outside the east gate of the Potala Palace, there is a racecourse of Songtsen Gampo. When the Tibetan Dynasty founded by Songtsen Gampo collapsed, most of the Potala Palace was destroyed in the war.

According to legend, when the Forbidden City was built, Zhu Di of the Ming Dynasty, also known as the Yongle Emperor, planned to set the total number of rooms in the palace at 10,000, but on the fifth night after he passed down the holy decree, he suddenly had a dream. He dreamed that he was summoned by the Jade Emperor to the Lingxiao Hall of the Heavenly Palace, only to see that the Jade Emperor was full of anger, and the Yongle Emperor didn't know what was going on. Later, when I asked, I learned that it was because the number of palaces in the Forbidden City that he wanted to build exceeded the number of 10,000 in his Heavenly Palace. So he said: "Please let the Jade Emperor calm his anger, the ministers are offended, how can the number of palaces in my mortal world exceed that of your heavenly palace!"
When the Jade Emperor heard him say this, there was a smile on his face, and he said: "That's right, I will give you a 'Heavenly Stone' to town the palace, and you will ask seventy-two earthly demons and one hundred beasts to protect your mortal imperial city, so that the wind and rain can be smooth, and the country and the people will be safe, you have to remember." Zhu Di hurriedly thanked him, and when he raised his head to look at the Jade Emperor again, he was gone, and he woke up to find that it was a dream.
So, Emperor Yongle hurriedly sent a decree to summon Liu Bowen into the palace and told him the dream he had last night from beginning to end. Liu Bowen was also stunned when he heard this: "The Jade Emperor can't be provoked, just listen to him." Since his Heavenly Palace is 10,000 rooms, then let's build 9,999 and a half rooms.
In this way, it not only saved the face of the Jade Emperor, but also did not lose the royal style. When Emperor Yongle heard this, he felt that it made sense, so he agreed.
In less than four years, the Forbidden City was completed, and Liu Bowen invited the Yongle Emperor to come and inspect it. This Forbidden City is built not to mention how magnificent, carved beams and painted buildings, golden and brilliant, the noon gate is tall and majestic, especially the Fengtian Palace is spacious and magnificent, compared with the Jade Emperor's Lingxiao Palace, it is really not much worse. After Zhu Di walked around the palace for most of the day, he felt very happy. At this moment, he suddenly remembered the "Heavenly Stone" given by the Jade Emperor and the seventy-two earth demons and one hundred beasts to be invited, so he asked Liu Bowen where they were placed.
"Hurrah, don't be busy, the minister will take you to see them one by one. Liu Bowen said and took him to the royal road behind the Huagai Palace, pointed to a huge rectangular stone sculpture and said: "This is the 'Heavenly Stone' of the town palace courtyard given by the Jade Emperor, called the 'Cloud Dragon Step Stone', there are nine dragons, leaping between the flowing clouds, it is the largest stone sculpture in this palace, weighing tens of thousands of catties!"
"Good!" Then the Yongle Emperor asked, "Where are the seventy-two earths?"
"You can't see this, the minister sent them to the seventy-two ditches below this palace, in case the little devils underground make trouble and spoil the feng shui in this palace!"

"Look at the glazed ornaments on the ridge of the palace, they are dragons, phoenixes, lions, pegasi, fish, bullfights, fish, and sinisters. There are those who fly in the sky, those who run on the earth, and those who swim in the waters. There are those who pray for rain, and there are those who ward off evil spirits. "Needless to say, this is the beast that was invited? Liu Aiqing has done everything that has been done by the Jade Emperor, and I want to reward you again!"
Zhu Di finally asked: "Is the palace in this palace nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine and a half?"
