Chapter 525: Understanding Performance (Part II)

"This is just my own statement, if you think it's bad for Korean actors, you can change it to a metaphor that you think is suitable. The principle www.biquge.info pen & fun > pavilion is the same. ”

It's quite strange, in the face of Han Yu's tentative question, Ha Zhengyu looked a bit like he knew everything, squinting and smoking, and explained to Han Yu very straightforwardly: "Although acting is a performance, in the play, the character you play is a living person."

What an actor wants to play is not only the character and behavior of the character marked out in the script.

Those are just the skins of the characters.

The inner things of the characters, the characteristics that are not marked out in the script, and the "flesh and blood" necessary for the characters as "living people" are all shown by the actors. ”

"Not on the script...... Marked out of the features?"

All of a sudden, Han Yu's face showed a little thoughtful.

“…… Well. ”

He replied a little vaguely because of the cigarette in his mouth, and then Ha Zhengyu glanced at Han Yu, who was beginning to think about himself, sniffed, and continued: "Of course, as an actor, you can't just act according to the script, because the script is written by the screenwriter, and the screenwriter is also a person, and human thinking has limitations.

In the play, every character is a living person, they all have their own lives, and the screenwriter is actually using their personal imagination to frame the character's character and behavior. But as I said before, screenwriters are also people, and they are a single person.

It is impossible for them to experience the feelings of every character in the play, so they can only rely on their own imagination.

Imagination often means that there are many unrealistic places.

Of course, I don't mean that the imagination of actors is more realistic or richer than that of screenwriters, but at least, we can't just rely on the imagination of the screenwriter to play the role, we also have to 'think' ourselves, in the play, we are no longer ourselves, but the character, we have to learn to stand in the perspective of that 'person' to think about what the real him is like. ”

Subconsciously frowning and pondering for a while, Han Yu immediately asked Ha Zhengyu with a serious face: "So, senior, what do you think...... What is the 'flesh and viscera' that my character is missing?"

"Standing, sitting, moving. ”

Very crisply, Ha Jung-woo took a cigarette in his mouth and spat out a series of words.

"Standing...... Sitting, and movements?" Han Yu frowned and blinked, looking at Ha Jung-woo with a somewhat puzzled expression.

"Hmm. ”

Nodding and stretching out two fingers to pinch the cigarette away, Ha Jung-woo exhaled two faint puffs of smoke from his nose, while turning his head to look at Han Yu and explaining: "I said before that those characters are 'living people', but in tradition, one of the biggest mistakes that many actors make when performing is that they tend to ignore the role that time and lifestyle, and even personal experience and personality play in those characters. ”

“…… What do you mean?"

"To briefly analogize, do you think a middle-aged man in his forties and a young man in his twenties will have the same voice?"

As Ha Zhengyu spoke, Han Yu, who was sitting next to him, suddenly showed a slightly stunned look on his face.

Because I don't know if it's Han Yu's own delusion, just now Ha Jung-woo talked about the "forty generations" and "twentieth generations", and Han Yu heard Ha Jung-woo's voice have changed differently.

In his forties, his voice was a little lower than his current voice, but in his twenties, his voice was strangely clearer.

Suddenly, Han Yu seemed to finally understand something, looked at Ha Zhengyu with some amazement and abruptness, and muttered, "What do you mean...... Because everyone is different in age, the physical condition of his who we want to perform is also different?"

"Well, that's pretty much what it means. Ha Jung-woo nodded, and then continued: "But it's not just because of age. In the world, everyone is an independent individual, and their experiences, occupations, personalities, and relationships with others are all different.

A person with a cunning personality and a person with a simple personality actually have a somewhat different tone when they speak.

In the same way, a lawyer and a businessman, because of their professional experience and needs, they are not only different in the tone of their speech, but also in some of the wording.

And one of the more serious problems of some young actors now is that they often don't realize that when they are performing, they are substituting their voices, movements, and postures into the roles they want to play.

I once watched a young actor perform and everyone had a good opinion of him, but he had a plot in that drama where he had to play the main character at the same time in high school. In that episode, in addition to his hairstyle, clothing and face, his voice and tone are exactly the same as his self ten years later.

In a sense, it can be regarded as an alternative 'goof'.

In fact, I am generally against such performances that violate age, especially if the actors' acting skills are insufficient.

From young to old, a person's tone and demeanor, gait when walking, and even standing posture are all different, and these are all things that need to be carefully figured out by the actor. ”

"So...... My problem is that I ignore the standing and sitting postures that 'Wu Liwen' should really have...... And the action?"

Han Yu nodded thoughtfully, and immediately after, he asked Ha Zhengyu again, with a faint seriousness in his demeanor.

Unconsciously, Han Yu has already entered the working state when discussing the script and the play with Zhen Xiuwan and others.

Hearing Han Yu ask like this, Ha Zhengyu glanced at him, nodded and replied, "I have studied a lot of people in different professions who are different in life.

The difference here is not just in the mannerisms, but also in some subtle professional habits.

The profession of writer is also one of the objects of my research.

I don't know if you've noticed it yourself, don't you think that the character you play doesn't really look like a writer at all?

I understand that generally for the sake of image, the stylists of the crew generally design the characters to be as handsome as possible, and the Korean actor in the play really doesn't look like a writer engaged in writing work.

But that's the stylist reason, and the question I'm going to say is...... Even if you remove factors such as clothing and hairstyle, the role you play as a Korean actor still doesn't have the slightest hint of what a writer should look like.

In my research, including my observation of some of my writer friends, I found that writers, as a profession that has been sitting in front of a computer for a long time, actually have a little bit of a subtle professional characteristic.

For example, in the standing posture, they actually generally have a slight hunchback, at least not so straight that in the play, like the Korean actor you, stand so straight.

There is also the problem of sitting posture, which is different according to everyone's habits, but on the same point, Korean actors, you sit in front of the computer, and your sitting posture is unusually correct, if you are a person who sits in front of the computer desk all year round and works, it is generally difficult to maintain such a standard sitting posture.

Finally, there's the question of action.

When you type, it doesn't look like a writer who is proficient in typing, and it's the same when you're performing with other actors.

If I remember correctly, Actor Huang is your sister in the play, the younger sister who grew up from childhood to adulthood, and your identity in the play is a very familiar brother and sister with her.

However, although a layman may not be able to see it, as long as he is a professional actor, he will definitely be able to find it.

Korean actorWhen you face the yellow actor, there is still a vague sense of restraint in your actions, maybe it's because of the relationship between your close sister?

I believe that Brother Ji Sheng and Huang Actor should have seen your question, but because of the same intimacy, I'm embarrassed to tell you. ”

As he spoke, Ha Jung-woo slowly exhaled a puff of smoke from the gap between his lips, looked at Han Yu with serious eyes and continued, "But no matter what...... Korean actor, your acting skills are not very good, this is an undeniable fact. ”

It's still such a direct way of speaking, but this time when Han Yu heard Ha Jung-woo say this, his mood was completely different from before.

The whole person pursed his lips silently and thought for a while, and after a moment, he raised his hand to support his forehead slightly, his eyes closed as if he was a little tired, and correspondingly, a trace of regret that could not be concealed flashed from his face.

From an ordinary person who didn't know how to act at all, to a semi-actor who is now able to cooperate with other professional actors, Han Yu only took a few months, and in the eyes of outsiders, this is already a very good talent.

But only Huang Jingyin and others in the same crew know better that Han Yu has made considerable efforts to be able to shoot freely in the crew now.

Usually, as long as he has free time, whether at home or in the crew, he basically holds the script in his hands.

Even when part of the script is considered to be his creation, even if he has already memorized the plot and lines in the script, he still ponders his performance every day.

Because of the performance, it is the first thing he likes to do after Han Yu regained his life, and at the same time, it is also his favorite one.

It's different from the profession of a teacher.

Regarding the identity of a teacher at Seoul University, Han Woo just treats his job that looks more decent out of a serious and responsible attitude.

But for the matter of acting, or for the profession of an actor, Han Yu treats it with complete enthusiasm.

He has always liked to do this kind of thing of "creating", watching a TV series, a good work, a good story, and take shape under the interpretation of his own group of people, which makes him feel an indescribable sense of satisfaction in his heart.

And this is one of the reasons why he is so concerned about the crew's affairs.

Although Han Yu was not arrogant enough to think that his acting skills were comparable to professional actors like Huang Jingyin, he was actually quite satisfied with his efforts during this time.

But what I didn't expect was ......

His "satisfaction" still belongs to the category of failing in the eyes of others.

Ha Jung-woo's words were simple enough, and Han Yu naturally understood the key points that Ha Jung-woo wanted to tell him.

Indeed, if you think about it carefully, Han Yu finds that every problem that Ha Zhengyu said really exists in himself.

Being an actor is not an easy career.

Regarding this understanding, after Han Yu worked in the crew for a few months, he realized it more obviously.

Maybe Ha Jung-woo's requirements are a little too harsh, after all, as Ha Jung-woo said before, not to mention a semi-layman like Han Yu, many actors Ha Jung-woo himself has seen before can't meet the requirements that Ha Jung-woo said.

But.

Even though he knew this in his heart, Han Yu's heart was still filled with an indescribable frustration.

The pride that is not revealed does not mean that it is gone, even Han Yu himself has to admit that there is actually a pride in his heart, and it can even be said that he is arrogant.

Not being able to get things done well is in itself a blow to people who are proud in their hearts, not to mention ...... While Han Woo heard what Ha Jung-woo said, he couldn't help but think of Ji Sung, who played the male protagonist Cha Dao-hyun in the crew.

If you compare Ji Sheng and Han Yu together, in terms of appearance, whether it is figure or handsomeness, Ji Sheng is far inferior to Han Yu, not to mention that the age gap between the two does not seem to be small.

So generally speaking, the popularity of Ji Sheng, the male protagonist, should not be as good as Han Yu, who is the second male.

But in fact, among the fans of their show, in terms of the popularity of the characters, Ji Sheng and Han Yu are half divided, and even Ji Sheng's popularity is higher than Han Yu.

Everything is because of Ji Sheng's perfect acting skills.

Originally, when the TV series first started, Ji Sheng did have a lot of criticism from the audience because of the strong contrast between his image and Han Yu.

But this little opinion was later, because of Ji Sheng's superb performance, all disappeared, and it was replaced by the audience's love for Ji Sheng.

The TV series has been broadcast to this number of episodes, and generally those who have a gossip mentality and a mentality of supporting their own artists at the beginning have little patience to watch it again, and most of the remaining viewers are at least attracted by the story of "Kill Me, Heal Me".

Of course, they don't care much about the comparison between the male protagonist and the second male lead, they basically only care about one thing - that is, the performance of the actors.

As mentioned before, Han Yu was very amazed by Ji Sheng's performance.

The most difficult thing for a person to play the seven corners is not the kind of speculation about the emotions of the characters, but how to play the seven different characters with their unique styles, so that the audience can look at the same face but see the feelings of different people, which is the most difficult part.

But Ji Sheng really did it.

Now that Han Yu thinks about it carefully, maybe real actors have their own professional consensus in acting.

When playing the seven personalities, Ji Sheng pays great attention to the differences shown by each character because of their different personalities.

For example, the timbre of the voice, so far Han Yu can't imagine how Ji Sheng managed to practice his voice into seven different senses, each personality has its own unique voice, and even now, many viewers of their TV series, just need to listen to Chi Sheng's mouth to know whether the current personality is the deputy personality Shen Shi, or the main personality Che Daoxian.

These are far beyond Han Yu's reach.

Han Yu didn't care about the effort he had to put in to hone his acting skills, he understood the truth that there was no free lunch in the world when he was very young.

But in his heart, he still felt lost knowing his own shortcomings, especially when there were such stark contrasts around him.

It's not that you're lost because others point out your own shortcomings, but because you're feeling lost because you're inadequate......

……

However, just when Han Yu was full of frustration because of Ha Jung-woo's words, suddenly, Ha Jung-woo, who was sitting next to Han Yu and squinting and smoking, opened his mouth and said something that made Han Yu stunned.

"But speaking of which, in fact, even if it is Brother Chi Sheng, his acting skills are not good. ”
