Chapter 13: The Magician?
Glicenta lay on her back on the bed, not knowing whether she wanted to cry or laugh. When she thought of what had just happened, her heart was mixed. The tears flowed and she didn't want to flow anymore, and the sword still rested calmly beside her, reminding her that the strange thing she had never experienced had just ended.
She turned to the side, sighed, and reached out her right hand to gently stroke the hilt of the sword. That's when something strange happened. The blue-purple sword, carved with dense magical runes, suddenly released extremely powerful energy. The furious electricity nearly knocked Glistanda to the ground. I only heard a crackling sound, and the house was suddenly in shambles. Plumes of black smoke emitted from the wooden roof, and the tables, beds, and mattresses were all damaged and scorched. Grisenda was not hurt by her own resistance, but she was also very embarrassed. She scrambled to her feet and looked around in disbelief—even now, there was a visible surge of electricity in the room that had not ended.
The sword remained calm on the ground, as if nothing had happened. Grisenda mustered his courage and stretched out his right hand again, gently stroking the hilt of the sword. At this time, the sword returned to its original gentle state.
"Thunderstorm, what's wrong with you......?"
Grisenda drew her sword, her brain racing, remembering the words that Mage Dhansur had told her. It was a long time before she could barely think of a possible reason for this - a powerful magical force was injected into the sword, making it unable to control its abilities, so it burst out at the touch of her own hand, causing the scene just now. But Grisenda couldn't believe that it was the man just now who gave the sword this powerful magical power. Grison Dath was the only one who had ever touched the sword, and there was no other person who could have given it great magical powers.
Could it be that someone has come in stealth?, Grisenda shook her head, shaking off the thought. It's impossible, if someone drinks the invisibility potion, it's impossible for someone like himself who is extremely sensitive to magic not to notice. But didn't she notice the man when he woke up? Grisenda blushed at the thought of that awkward scene and his unbridled gaze.
One of the only two ways to inject energy into his artifact was that the man was an extremely powerful magician, who could inject surging magical energy into the sword just by activating the magical power in his body. The second is that he has a powerful magic weapon that can easily transfer the energy from it to the sword. But the man was not carrying anything with him at the time, and after he fell to the ground, he checked again to make sure that he was unarmed. I'm afraid it's not possible to carry a magic weapon. Then in this way, there is only one situation, and that is that he is an extremely terrifying magician. Grisendar couldn't make the figure of the man in front of him connect with the mysterious and powerful Mage Dhansur: because he was too young. The only possibility is that the magician used some kind of spell to change himself into a secondary body, or blinded Grisenda. In this way, the man was an old immortal pervert again, and Grisenda was even more angry.
She took out a scout scroll from the Philosopher's Stone, held it in her hand, picked up her sword, and rushed out the door without even putting on her armor, hoping to use the scroll that Mage Dhansur had given her to reveal the true face of the old immortal pervert. Her room was at the corner of the hallway, and there was only one house next door, so she quickly found where the man lived. Grisenda kicked the door open and found it empty, save for some clothes and miscellaneous items.
Grisenda frowned, it was hard for her not to find the man. A note full of darts was attached to the wall, and Glicenta took it down to find a person's name: Adan. She did a quick search in her head, but she didn't remember any news about the name, it seemed that this old immortal pervert mage still had a grudge against someone.
Grisenda returned to her room, put on her armor, and put on her cloak. The hard, scarcity-clad blue steel plate armor engraved with magical runes was as light as a layer of gauze on her body. He seems to say that he is just an ordinary guard, Grisenda thought, so he lied to me even if he said that...... But Grisenda had no choice but the walls, so she packed up her things and hurried in the direction she had entered.
......
James climbed the wall, and Joseph glared at him.
"Joseph, look at what a beautiful scenery it is, it's sunny after the rain......" James smiled as he looked at the scenery outside the city walls.
"You're only three hours late. Joseph said coldly.
"Look how bright the sun is and how fresh the air is......"
"Tell me, where have you been in the past few hours? Is it taking that long to get something? I walked the whole outskirts of the city in less than 30 minutes. Don't tell me you spent three hours going to the Salrest Hotel, who would believe it?"
"It's summer, and a lot of flowers are blooming......"
Joseph hammered James on the back with his hand.
"Stop pretending, tell me where you just went?"
"Uh...... Well, this can only be understood but not spoken......"
"You're still talking nonsense with me here......" Joseph had just stepped out of his legs, as if to kick James, when another cry of terror came from under the city walls.
"Is there anyone? Is there anybody? It's a big deal, come to the rescue!" a fat man stood at the bottom of the city wall, shouting with his hands waving and looking terrified.
"What's wrong with you?" replied Joseph dissatisfied.
"Joseph, let me come up quickly. They're trapped in the mine!"
When Joseph heard his words, his face turned from red to white, and he hurriedly pulled up the gate of the city, and let the fat man climb up the stairs panting. James could tell that the man in front of him had been running for a long time before rushing to Lannega.
"What's wrong, Barry, you tell me, Captain Whitewater, what's wrong with them?"
The man, Barry, gasped for breath before stammering, "The mine exploded, and many places collapsed......"
"What?!" both James and Joseph looked horrified.
"I was sitting at the door of the mine...... Then a loud explosion was heard, and there was a faint glow of fire coming through. Right next to me, there was a road that had been buried by the collapsed rubble, and I feared that Captain Whitewater was in danger...... Thereupon...... I'm going to run over to you and tell you......"
James and Joseph both looked at each other.
"I'll go!" yelled James.
"No, I'll go!" Joseph was not to be outdone.
Then, after a quick discussion, the two agreed to go with them, and asked Barry to go to the back door and call the rest of the people. Barry nodded, as if he hadn't fully recovered from his panic, and he staggered down the gate and ran to the other side of the city. James and Joseph gathered their weapons and equipment as fast as they could, and had just come down the stairs when they ran into Marcus walking up.
"What's wrong with you guys?" said Marcus, confused. "I'm just here to find some medicinal herbs......"
"Captain Whitewater, they're in danger in the mines, and the two of us need to rush over to help. ”
"What?!" Marcus's gray beard shook with the red flesh on his face. He quickly took off the dirty gloves he was wearing, handed them to James, and took several bottles of red liquid in his pocket, and stuffed them into Joseph's hands.
"Goblins are good at using fire...... Although this glove is old, it is still the forged glove I used when I was refining medicine, and it is very resistant to high temperatures. And these vials of flame protection potion, I hope they can help you......"
"Thank you!" James said gratefully, touching his thick gloves. Joseph bowed to him, then dragged James toward the plains outside the city.
At this moment, Grisenda, who had just arrived at the city gate, saw the scene in front of him, and just wanted to draw his sword and go up to ask questions, but found that the two of them were running faster than rabbits, and couldn't help but be furious, and rushed out of the city under the gaze of Marcus.
"Why did that little girl feel like she was scorched?, do young people like this style now?" Marcus shook his head. "Hey, I don't want to think about this, may Captain Whitewater and James come back safely......"
