"Brother Zhuang, do you want me to teach him a lesson?"
Peng Feizheng felt that this trip was relatively dull, and after seeing Zhongchuan, he couldn't help but feel a little itchy in his hands and feet, especially when he saw a nodding translator next to Zhongchuan, which made Comrade Peng Fei extremely unhappy, he was most disgusted with these foreigners who took money to run the Chinese costume uncle. "Forget it, don't make trouble, you kid, play for a day, and start work tomorrow......"
Zhuang Rui waved his hand to stop Peng Fei, others admire Chinese culture, where to travel is someone else's freedom, but this Zhongchuan is really quite related to himself, from Xi'an to Dunhuang, he has encountered three times in a row.
"That guy doesn't look like a good thing, maybe he went to China for private cultural relics......" Peng Fei muttered, parked the car, pushed the door and walked down.
Although Dunhuang is located in the middle of nowhere, but as a world-famous tourist attraction, the Mogao Grottoes are crowded with people, and there are tour groups with small flags and sunhats everywhere.
There are four major giant grottoes featuring Buddhist culture in China, namely Dunhuang - Mogao Grottoes, Datong - Yungang Grottoes, Luoyang - Longmen Grottoes, Tianshui - Maijishan Grottoes, among which Longmen Grottoes and Mogao Grottoes are the most famous, and Mogao Grottoes are the largest and most well-preserved of the four major grottoes.
Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes was built in 366 A.D., until the Qing Dynasty of 1,500 years, on the upper wall of Mingsha Mountain in Sanhuali, more than 480 caves were built densely layer by layer, five layers are arranged up and down, the height is staggered, the scales are one after another, the shape is like a beehive pigeon coop, stand at the place of hundreds of meters away from the Mogao Grottoes to watch, it is extremely magnificent.
All the grottoes, all covered with painted Buddha statues and murals with the theme of Buddhist stories, there are more than 2,000 colored Buddha statues, the largest one is as high as 33 meters, the skill of the murals is superb, the number is amazing, if one side is connected, it can be arranged into a gallery of more than 50 miles long.
……
"Zhuang Rui, put all the cameras in the car, you are not allowed to bring cameras in the Mogao Grottoes, if you are interested in those portraits of the Buddha, I can find someone to ask you for a complete collection of images of the Mogao Grottoes......"
Seeing Zhuang Rui with a camera hanging around his neck, Dr. Ren, who got off from another car, reminded him that because the flashes of various cameras have very great damage to cultural relics, it is forbidden to bring cameras into this scenic spot.
In the name of the Institute of Archaeology of Beijing University, Professor Meng has cooperated with the Dunhuang Institute of Cultural Relics to conduct research on the potential damage to the murals caused by carbon dioxide produced by breathing.
With the crowd of tourists, Zhuang Rui and others also stepped into the interior of the Mogao Grottoes, they entered the southern area of the Mogao Grottoes, where there are a total of 487 caves, there are murals or statues at dawn, after entering the first cave, Zhuang Rui was attracted by the rock wall and those exquisite stone carvings on the top of his head.
Looking around the cave and the top of the cave, there are Buddha statues, music, fairies painted everywhere, almost every space in the grotto, there are portraits, after entering the grotto, Zhuang Rui seems to feel that he has entered the ancient gallery, everywhere is full of rich artistic atmosphere.
Different from visiting those places of interest, all the portraits and stone Buddha statues here exude a sense of artistic beauty, rich and colorful all kinds of exquisite decorative patterns, which seem to lead people into a grand and spectacular art gallery, and every subtlety shows the exquisite craftsmanship and artistic accomplishment of the ancestors.
"Zhuang Rui, this is Feitian, the Feitian advertisement we saw on CCTV is based on this......" In a grotto more than 30 meters high, Dr. Ren saw Zhuang Rui looking up at the dome and introduced him to him.
Flying Heaven is the god who serves the Buddha and the Emperor Shakti, can sing and dance, on the wall of this grotto, there are carved flying patterns everywhere, a little fluttering in the boundless universe, some hold lotus buds, straight into the sky, some swoop down from the air, like a meteor, some pass through the heavy buildings and high pavilions, like a swimming dragon; some are swept with the wind, leisurely.
The ancient painters, with the unique winding long lines, stretching and harmonious interest, presented people with a beautiful and ethereal imaginary world, gorgeous colors, flying lines, presented to people a kind of flamboyant power, so that Zhuang Rui has a passion for riding wild on the desert wasteland echoing in his heart.
"The information in the film and television is not as good as what you see with your own eyes......"
Zhuang Rui retracted his gaze at the dome, just now he used his aura to feel the grotto he was in, the exquisite strokes, the beautiful fairies were brilliant, the clothes were fluttering, and they seemed to come alive in the aura induction, so that Zhuang Rui was fascinated, and his heart was shocked, as if his soul was dancing and trembling.
Even Peng Fei, who couldn't find the slightest artistic cell on his body, was attracted by these exquisite portraits, and said in a daze: "Brother Zhuang, I look at these murals, why do I seem to be alive?"
"Well, Peng Fei, this shows that you have a Buddha fate, just become a monk, as the saying goes, put down the butcher knife and become a Buddha on the ground......
Feeling the aura of this unique grotto, Zhuang Rui was in a good mood, and joked with Peng Fei with a smile, but this is also a half-truth, in modern society, people like Peng Fei can already be regarded as killing gods, and being in this important place of Buddhism, maybe he can really dissolve a little bit of the tyrannical atmosphere on his body.
"Hehe, can they accept the wine and meat monks?" Peng Fei laughed when he heard this, he himself was a master who was not afraid of heaven and earth, even in this solemn place of the Buddha statue, it could only make him lose his mind slightly.
"You, don't talk nonsense in this place......"
Zhuang Rui shook his head, walked out of the grotto, and continued to explore, this time he focused on the different forms of Buddha carvings in the grotto.
Because the Sui and Tang dynasties were the heyday of the development of the Mogao Grottoes, the Buddha carvings in the Mogao Grottoes were also deeply influenced by the Buddhist culture of the Sui and Tang Dynasties.
Colored sculpture is the main body of Mogao Grottoes Buddha carving art, there are Buddha statues, Bodhisattva statues, disciple statues and Heavenly King, King Kong, Lux all kinds of colored sculptures, the form is rich and colorful, round sculptures, relief sculptures, shadow sculptures, good karma sculptures can be seen here, the highest is as high as 34.5 meters, the smallest is only about 2 centimeters, the richness of the subject matter and the superb craftsmanship, can be called the Buddhist colored sculpture museum.
When he walked to the No. 16 grotto, Dr. Ren stopped, pointed to it and said, "Zhuang Rui, this is the Tibetan Scripture Cave......
"Those precious scriptures are hidden in them?"
Zhuang Rui used the flashlight he carried with him to shine into it, and on the wall of the square cave chamber with a length and width of only 2.6 meters and a height of 3 meters, there were images of Bodhi trees and bhikshunis, and there was a Zen bed-style low altar with a sitting portrait of a high monk Hongbian, and as for the scriptures, there was no volume left.
More than a century ago, when Daoist Wang inadvertently opened this scripture cave, there were more than 50,000 pieces of cultural relics from the 4th century to the 11th century (that is, from the Sixteen Kingdoms to the Northern Song Dynasty) and paper paintings, silk paintings, embroidery and other cultural relics.
Later archaeologists deduced that the cave should be in the 11th century AD, the monks of the Mogao Caves in order to avoid the Xixia army, when preparing to flee the closed, the unearthed documents are mostly written copies, a small number of engraved copies, especially precious, and there are ancient Tibetan, Sanskrit, Qilu, Sogdian, Khotanese, Uighur, Qiuzi and other texts, which have been handed down to this day, many of them are already unique and unique.
For the discoverer of the Tibetan Scripture Cave, Wang Daoshi, although later generations have mixed evaluations of him, Zhuang Rui has always believed that he is a sinner who has lost this civilization, and his so-called use of the silver taels sold to repair the Mogao Caves cannot atone for his loss of these precious cultural relics.
Many friends may say that the Wang Taoist priest is dedicated to the public, and the silver taels sold to foreigners are not used for personal pleasure, but for a life of poverty, and some people will say that if Wang Taoist did not sell those things, maybe these objects would have been destroyed in the subsequent war.
But do these friends know that the Mogao Grottoes are very little known after the Yuan Dynasty, and the original appearance has been basically preserved for hundreds of years, and no one knows that there are precious and rare Buddhist scriptures and ancient scrolls preserved there.
With the actions of the Qing Dynasty and the national government at that time, it was impossible to take care of the Mogao Grottoes, that is to say, if it was not for the Taoist Wang to open up the Tibetan scripture cave, these precious cultural relics are very likely to be discovered by people today, and these precious cultural relics belonging to China will also be well preserved.
Moreover, after the government at that time paid attention to it, Wang Daoshi still privately collected most of the precious scriptures and cultural relics of the last value, and sold them to the British archaeologist Stein for only 700 silver dollars, 24 boxes of manuscripts, 5 boxes of artwork and 570 Dunhuang documents.
Later, the French archaeologist Birch obtained more than 10,000 pieces of Dunhuang documents for 600 taels of silver, and the last remaining precious cultural relics were also sold by Wang Taoist to the Japanese explorers Yoshikawa Koichiro and Tachibana Ruichao.
As a result, of the more than 50,000 pieces of Tibetan scripture cave documents discovered in 1900, only 8,757 pieces were finally collected in the current National Library of China, less than half of the British Museum, so in Zhuang Rui's heart, Wang Daoshi is the culprit of the loss of Dunhuang culture.
