On October 16, 88, BEPC achieved the first electron-positron collision, which was hailed as another major breakthrough achievement in the high-tech field after the successful explosion of the atomic bomb and the hydrogen bomb and the launch of the artificial satellite.

If Mr. Zhang Wenyu had stayed in the United States or the United Kingdom, his personal scientific research path would undoubtedly have been countless times easier, with mature laboratories, high financial support, and high-quality partners, all of which would have pushed his prestige in the field of world physics research to the peak, but he chose a more difficult path, and what China needed more at that time was practical technology that could directly produce benefits.
