Chapter 192: The Battle Suddenly Calls

After all, arsenic is a toxic substance, and too much exposure is not good for the body.

Nitrogen is everywhere in the air, and although steel can only eat pure metals, there is no problem at all in manipulating metal elements to synthesize some metal compounds.

Under the control of steel hammers, the gallium nitride components that currently exist mainly in Shijie laboratories in various countries are produced as if they were not cheap, and they are constantly assembled into powerful phased array radar T/R components.

Chen Xin packed the components into boxes and moved them to a medium-sized van.

The two worked together and fought hard for five days in their rented apartment to get all the 100 kilograms of gallium elemental.

Of course, among these gallium nitride T/R components, Chen Xin also asked the steel hammer to divide its bands in detail to adapt to radars with different functions.

As for the radar band, most people must have heard of it.

Like L, S, C, X, etc., are all codes for the division of electromagnetic wave bands.

The first electromagnetic wave used to search radar was 23 cm in length, so this band was defined as the L band (the prefix Long in English), and later the length of the central wave in this band was changed to 22 cm.

When an electromagnetic wave with a wavelength of 10 cm is used, the band is defined as the S-band (the prefix for "Short" means an electromagnetic wave that is shorter than the original wavelength).

After the advent of fire control radars, which mainly use 3cm electromagnetic waves, the 3cm wavelength electromagnetic waves are called X-bands, because X represents a point on the coordinates.

In order to combine the advantages of the X-band and S-band, radars with a center wavelength of 5cm gradually appeared. This band is called the C-band (C stands for Compromise).

After the British, the Germans also began to independently develop their own radars, which they chose 1.5cm as the center wavelength of their own radar. This wavelength of electromagnetic waves is called the K-band (K = Kurtz, the German word for "short").

"Unfortunately", the wavelengths chosen by the Germans with the "precision" characteristic of the Germanic peoples could be strongly absorbed by water vapor. As a result, radars in this band cannot be used in rain and foggy weather.

Therefore, in order to avoid this absorption peak, radars designed after World War II usually use Ka-band (Ka, which is the abbreviation of K-above, meaning above the K-band) and slightly lower (Ku, which is the abbreviation of K-under) with a frequency slightly higher than the K-band. means below the K-band).

However, Chen Xin did not let the steel hammer produce all the T/R components in the above bands. Instead, it is mainly X-band and S-band.

On the one hand, the S-band is currently the first choice for medium-range air warning radars in all countries, such as the Aegis system used on the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyers in the United States and the Sampson phased array radar used in the new generation of British Type 45 missile destroyers. All are based on the S-band.

Compared to X-band radars with higher accuracy. S-band radars do not have the ability to guide missiles precisely. Generally, medium-range guidance can only be carried out for ship-to-air missiles equipped with active radar seekers, and nothing can be done about semi-actively guided missiles.

Therefore, at present, European and American countries have been trying to convert shipborne phased array radars into S/X dual-band radars, so that they can have the capabilities of long-range tracking and detection and high-precision guidance at the same time.

X-band radars are commonly used in fire control radars as well as airborne phased array radars. Both have a very wide range of military uses.

After two days in Zuihou, where T/R components were manufactured, Chen Xin thought carefully and then asked Steelhammer to produce 10,000 L-band T/R modules.

L-band radar already belongs to the category of meter-wave radar, although the detection accuracy is limited, but it has a very haode detection effect on stealth aircraft.

For example, a very low frequency (VHF) long-range air-to-air surveillance radar mounted on the mast behind the chimney of the Chinese 052C missile destroyer is a meter-wave radar.

The reason why the mainland is equipped with this kind of "old antique" that seems to have been designed in the 50s on its new ships is because there is currently no electronic support equipment with this as the main working band, and the existing stealth aircraft have a relatively poor concealment effect on this ultra-long-wave radar.

This move was clearly developed in response to the stealth jishu that Western powers are proud of.

In the conference room of the Intelligence Department of the General Staff, the regular weekly meeting of the working group of the Bureau of Countering Strategic Fools is being held.

The conference room was filled with smoke, and Peng Guochen sat at the top of the conference room, and below him were experts from various expert groups.

Since the last time the General Staff had provided a report on the incident in Las Vegas, all of the General Staff Staff's previous judgments on the war had suddenly lost their direction.

Peng Guochen immediately reported the matter to the senior leaders, which aroused great attention from the central authorities.

Soon, an order from the central government came down, requiring the Intelligence Department of the General Staff to cooperate with national security to collect clues about the UFO incident in Las Vegas at any cost and compare it with the information provided by the war situation.

In the following period, before the UFO incident in Las Vegas, a series of bizarre events on the West Coast of the United States quickly caught the attention of intelligence officers.

First, the state of California used the Los Angeles robbery to send out the National Guard to block the entrances to the Yosemite National Forest.

As a result, two days later, a bizarre earthquake struck Yosemite National Forest in the evening, and in the early hours of the next morning, the Las Vegas UFO incident erupted.

Just yesterday, the Department of Intelligence obtained some data records from the radar station at Nellis Air Force Base that night through moles lurking in the United States, and the records showed that the three UFOs were departing from the direction of Yosemite National Forest that night.

Peng Guochen spat out the smoke of the cigarette, put the cigarette butt in the ashtray, and said: "Everyone has already read the latest information, let's talk about our own opinions." ”

An expert from the space department said: "At present, it is certain that the technology on Earth is still unable to explain the flight mechanism of these three UFOs, and as for the things mentioned by the Strategic Fooling Bureau before, I personally have reservations......

Peng Guochen nodded, turned his head and asked another expert: "Professor Huang, you are new to our group, I believe you have also seen the photos of Captain Feng, what do you think about this?"

Professor Huang is one of the top geologists in China and the director of the Institute of Geology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Professor Huang held his glasses and was about to speak, when the door of the conference room suddenly opened, and a staff member of the Ministry of Intelligence broke in and said, "Minister, the War Incident Bureau has contacted us......" (to be continued......
