The second step is to continue to make breakthroughs in the basic technology of manned spaceflight: multi-person multi-day flight, astronauts going out of the capsule to walk in space, and completing the rendezvous and docking of the spacecraft and the space module. The launch of Shenzhou-6 marks the beginning of the second step of China's manned space program.

The Shenzhou-8 and 9 spacecraft achieved the first automatic rendezvous and docking and the first manual rendezvous and docking, and the Shenzhou-9 astronauts entered Tiangong-1 and were on duty.

From 2009 to 2012, China's manned space program will complete the launch of target vehicles, and at the same time, the space-orbit rendezvous and docking technology of the spacecraft will be implemented in space orbit.
