Chapter 35: The Second Attack

The gloomy sky outside made the already dark castle look particularly gloomy.

Evan and the others raced towards the Gryffindor Tower, reeling from what had just happened.

"Unbelievable, Dobby was sent by Malfoy, and he wanted to kill us!" Harry paled.

"I don't think so, why would Malfoy kill us?!"

Evan shook his head, saw Harry's expression that still needed to be said, sighed and continued, "Well, even if he had that idea, he wouldn't be stupid enough to send a crazy house-elf to do such a thing, it's all too obvious. ”

"Why is that Dobby"

"I think he's telling the truth, he must have overheard something about the opening of the secret room, so he came to remind us of it. He wants to save you, Harry. ”

"yes, he didn't let us get on the train, broke my arm, and controlled more than 80 tables and chairs to attack us frantically. Harry sighed, "If he had been rescuing me like this, I would have been killed by him." ”

"Don't blame him, house-elves are very servile creatures, they can't disobey their master's orders, let alone reveal the secrets of their master's house, and Dobby himself has to suffer a lot of pressure and hurt by doing so. ”

"Servility?!" Hermione snorted, "It's unbelievable that slavery still exists in our country in this day and age!"

"I don't care about that. Harry said, "I just wish Dobby could tell me clearly who opened the chamber or what monsters were in it." I really don't understand, it's sneaking around the school, why no one finds out!"

"Maybe it can make itself invisible. ”

Hermione thought for a moment, "Or maybe it can disguise itself and turn into a piece of armor or something, I've read stories of color-changing ghosts in books." ”

"But either way, it has something to do with Malfoy. Evan said quickly, "Lucius Malfoy is planning some kind of conspiracy, but"

He couldn't say any more, and the three of them had just turned a corner and turned into another corridor when they saw a scene of great horror.

Evan felt his stomach liquefied into water, and his blood instantly became cold.

A Ravenclaw girl lay on the floor, cold and stiff, a look of horror fixed on her face, her eyes glazed on the ceiling. And that's not all, there was another figure next to her, and Evan had never seen such a strange sight.

It was the weeping myrtle, no longer milky and transparent, but black, smoky, lying motionless, suspended six inches above the ground, with the same horrified expression on her face as the girl on the ground.

"This, this Ravenclaw girl, we've seen her before, who is she?"

Harry's breath was short, and he looked around the empty hallway in confusion to see a line of spiders scurrying away.

"Penelo Rinvat, she's the prefect of Ravenclaw. Hermione replied in a sad voice.

"Another attack, we should get someone to come and help. ”

Before they could do anything, a nearby door slammed open, and Peeves, who was a prankster, rushed out.

"Ah, it's the three of you!"

Peeves giggled and jumped past them, "What are you doing, why are you sneaking around?"

Peeves flipped halfway through a hollow heel and suddenly stopped. He was headfirst down and saw Penelope and the crying myrtle.

He quickly straightened up, took a deep breath, and before Evan and the others could stop him, he screamed in a straight voice, "Do it, do it, do it again! Neither humans nor ghosts will be spared!

The whole castle was bustling with people in an instant.

During those difficult minutes, the scene was extremely chaotic, Penelope was in danger of being squashed, and people kept standing in the middle of the crying Myrtle, while Evan, Harry, and Hermione were squeezed against the wall.

At this time, the teachers shouted loudly to maintain order.

Professor McGonagall ran as she struck her wand with a loud bang, causing everyone to fall silent as she ordered everyone to return to their house's common room.

Evan heard Justin muttering something nonsense about Harry's heir as he left.

This sentence was obviously heard by Peeves floating above everyone's heads. He suddenly grinned evilly.

As the teachers bent down to check on Penelope and the crying Myrtle, Peeves suddenly sang, "Oh, Potter, you nasty thing, look at the good things you've done, you've killed the students, and you're funny!"

"Stop making a fuss, Peeves!" Professor McGonagall yelled, and Peeves stuck his tongue out at Harry and scurried back away.

Professor Flitwick, along with several students, carried Penelope to the school hospital. However, no one knows what to do with the crying myrtle.

Eventually, Professor McGonagall conjured a large fan out of thin air and handed it to Ron, who had just arrived, telling him to fan the weeping Myrtle up the stairs. Ron complied, and looked at Evan and them worriedly for a few moments before leaving.

"Follow me, Mason, Potter, Granger. Professor McGonagall led them around the corner and stopped in front of a gigantic stone monster of great ugliness.

"Chilled lemonade!" she said.

As soon as he finished speaking, the monster suddenly came to life and jumped to the side, the wall behind it cracking in half. Behind the wall is a spiral staircase, which is slowly moving upwards, like an escalator.

As soon as Evan and the others stepped on Professor McGonagall, they heard a rumble behind them, and the wall closed again. They spun higher and higher, higher and higher, and finally, feeling a little dizzy, Aven saw a gleaming oak door in front of him, and on top of it was a brass knocker in the shape of a griffin.

Evan knew where they were taken, it must have been Dumbledore's office.

He secretly looked around, and couldn't help but be secretly surprised. Harry and Hermione were worried, worried about their fate.

It was all too much of a coincidence, the first attack was discovered by the three of them, and this one too. Now, even if you tell others that they have nothing to do with the secret room or something, I don't think anyone will believe it.

Dumbledore's office was a lot of fun, it was a large, beautiful circular room filled with all sorts of funny little sounds. On the table with slender legs, there were many strange silverwares, spinning and belching small puffs of smoke.

The walls are covered with portraits of the old headmasters, all of whom are snoring softly in their frames. There is also a huge table in the room with claw-shaped legs. On a shelf behind the desk sat the tattered, crumpled Sorting Hat.

Behind the door, on a tall gilded perch, stood a bird with ornate red and gold feathers. It seems to be sick and looks bad.

This should be the Phoenix Fawkes, Evan looked at curiously.

Before he could take a closer look, Dumbledore stepped out of the inside door of his office.

"Albus, Miss Cutwart, and the weeping myrtle," Professor McGonagall said eagerly.

"I know it all, Minerva!" replied Dumbledore calmly, "the Chamber of Secrets has indeed been opened again. ”

"But Albus, you must know who it is?"

"It's not about who. Dumbledore continued, "The question is, how"

Evan was shocked, Dumbledore must have noticed something.

Then, he saw the look on Professor McGonagall's face and knew that he, like Harry and Hermione beside him, must not have understood Dumbledore's words.

Next, the expected questioning didn't happen, and Dumbledore didn't ask anything, and after talking to them about Phoenix Fawkes for a while, he let them go.

Evan turned, not knowing if it was an illusion, he felt Dumbledore's gaze stay on him.
