Chapter 169: Reminiscences of the Past (2)
"How many skewers do you have, I'll buy them all!" The young man is very generous.
"Really?" the girl couldn't believe her ears.
"Why am I lying to you!" The boy spat out these words with a slight teasingness.
"Okay, I'll figure out how many skewers I have!" The girl said a little innocently.
"No, you can take the money!" the boy handed her a bill of hundreds.
"Wow! My sugar gourds don't add up to such a value, brother, you better take back the money!" the girl replied politely.
"This?" The young man hesitated.
"Although I am not very sensible, I definitely dare not take a penny more from others. The girl continued.
"I'm a foreigner! I've been in your place, and I'm looking for a place to live, I don't know if it's convenient for you?" The young man wanted to help her.
"Yes!" the girl smiled.
"Well, well!" said the young man, smiling pleasantly.
"Then you follow me!" the two walked through the bustling street and into a relatively remote alley.
"Is your house here?" asked the young man suddenly.
"Hmm! The girl replied.
"How many people are in your family?" asked the young man.
"Just me and my mom!" The girl replied casually.
"By the way, what about your father?" The young man asked about her father.
"He, he, I don't know him!" The girl's answer was beyond his expectations.
"So where is he?" The young man tried to ask something.
"I'm sorry, I don't know!" The girl tried to dodge his question.
"Okay! Then I won't ask, then I won't ask!"
"Here it is!" The girl pointed to the bungalow in front of her, then stepped forward and knocked on the door, "Mom, I'm back!"
"It's coming, it's coming!" The haggard voice of a middle-aged woman was heard inside.
It didn't take long for the door to open and a middle-aged woman stood in front of them.
"Girl, why did you come back so early today!" This is what the middle-aged woman said as soon as she opened her mouth.
"I, this brother said that he wanted to live in my house for a while, and gave me a lot of money, so I brought him back first!" The girl told her.
"Auntie, when you go out, there is always an inconvenience, please bear with me for the inconvenience caused to you!" The young man said politely.
"Why don't you go to a regular hostel and go to my place?" asked the middle-aged woman.
"The hotel environment is too bad, I can't get used to it, so I have to settle in you. The young man said.
"Okay! There happens to be a vacant room in our house that no one lives in, although it is not luxurious, but it is relatively clean!" The middle-aged woman arranged a vacant room for him.
"Mom, here's the money he gave us!" The girl took out the hundred-dollar bill, which was sky-high for half of the people in that era of scarcity.
"Ahh ”
"You don't have to mind that, I have a lot of things that I need your help with in the future. The young man persuaded him.
