It is also said that Emperor Wu of Liang regretted after learning the identity of Bodhidharma, and sent people to chase him, and suddenly the two peaks in the road suddenly closed, cutting off the way of the pursuers, and Bodhidharma, who came to the riverside, directly broke a reed by the river, threw it into the water, and stepped on the reed.
Then there were stories such as Songshan facing the wall for nine years, and the second ancestor Hui could break his arm to seek the law.
There are different mouths, different versions, and Zhou Hao also happens to know this story, but from a scientific point of view, don't say it's a reed, even if it's a bundle of reeds, for an adult, it is impossible to cross the Yangtze River unharmed.
In history, there are also many literary masters and Buddhist Confucians who have commented on this, and they all think that this is just a myth and legend, and it is simply impossible, but Zhou Hao doesn't think so, because what happened to him makes Zhou Hao feel that there is still this kind of magical power in the world!

"The so-called Zen Buddhism, do not set up words, don't teach outside the teaching, point directly to the hearts of the people, see the nature to become a Buddha, don't talk about it blindly if you don't understand, listen to the two masters!"
The asked Master Yineng was silent for a moment, smiled slightly, and put his hands together again and said: "Amitabha, Patriarch Bodhidharma, the nature of crossing is the Yangtze River, and the nature of stepping on is the reed." ”
Master Zhipu on the opposite side immediately asked, "What kind of river is that river, and what kind of reed is the reed." ”
"The poor monk saw that the river was called the turbidity river, and the reed was called the heart reed. ”
"What is the turbidity of the world, what is the heart reed?"
"The river comes from the west, rolling like red dust, stretching for thousands of miles, eternal, the same as the water of the same river, but gentle and turbulent, the depth of light and shade are different, or the waves are dreamy bubbles, or the whirlpool five aggregates are full of suffering, or the sand and gravel six roots and six dust, or into the sea without roots and death, or the four seasons of cause and effect. The heart reed is the heart, the nature, and the ancestor is teaching my generation to subdue its heart in order to be able to cross. ”
A one-ability master, with a lotus tongue, witty words, word by word, is not quoting scriptures and classics, exhausting the true meaning of Buddhism, and the Zhipu master on the opposite side is also flying lips and teeth, the two of you say a word,-for-tat, but let everyone hear it clearly.
Unconsciously, in response to this problem, the two had been chatting for more than half an hour, and then they folded their hands with each other, pronounced a Buddha name together, and looked at each other and smiled.
I saw that Master Zhipu on the opposite side clasped his hands together and asked again: "Amitabha, dare to ask if this turbid river is a river, whether the heart reed is a reed, and then ask, Patriarch Bodhidharma, what river is crossed, and what kind of reed is that reed." ”
Everyone has studied classical Chinese, and the conversation between the two just now somewhat understands the meaning, and sighs at the profound knowledge of the two and the ingenious metaphors, which makes everyone suddenly have a sense of enlightenment.
Since ancient times, it has been like this, gentle and turbulent, the four seasons are different, from west to east, this is the law of nature, this is just like life, there is no fixed normal, but everyone's life and death are destined, and this reed is shuttling in this three-foot red dust, your heart. The heart is towards the opposite shore, not following the tide, and naturally can carry itself through the bitter sea.
This is great wisdom and great supernatural powers!
Everyone listened in fascination, and many people's originally frowning brows were also relaxed.
But everyone understands the truth, why does Master Kezhipu still ask the same question, isn't Master Yi Neng's explanation good enough?
Everyone frowned, not understanding what Master Zhipu meant, but Zhou Haowan smiled: "Buddhism is the true law, and it talks about the fundamental true meaning and the ultimate method." This turbid river is naturally not a river, and this heart reed is naturally not a reed. ”
Qiu Yanxue, who was in a fog on the side, hurriedly asked, "What's the matter, do you know what the master is asking?"
Zhou Hao smiled slightly and said, "Although I don't read much, I also have some opinions of my own. After a pause, he said: "Dependent arising emptiness, sexual emptiness dependent origination, Buddhism says that everything is born and died without roots, it is a dream bubble, legend has it that when the Buddha attained enlightenment, the palm of his hand touched the ground, and the original form of the turbidity world appeared with great divine powers, which is a colorful glazed pure land. ”
Zhou Hao's words were very light, but many people around him could hear them, and only heard Zhou Hao continue: "The Buddhist scriptures have clouds, the four directions of heaven and earth, thirty-three days, only our world can practice and become enlightened, and the other heavens are not suitable for cultivation, unable to comprehend the Buddha's principles, such as hell, all the time in pain, naturally have no intention of comprehending the Dharma to achieve great liberation, the other few days of Elysium, a life of obedience, food and clothing without worry, boundless bliss, no greed and hatred, no seven sufferings, no experience and naturally unable to comprehend the Dharma." ”
Saying this, the people around him fell silent, even the two monks smiled silently, looked at each other and smiled, and listened quietly.
"And then again, the thirty-two qualities of the Diamond Sutra, in fact, the true meaning is only in the first chapter of the opening chapter, as long as you understand the sentence 'good men, good women, should live like this, if it is to subdue their hearts', it doesn't matter what I look like people and all beings behind, I don't care about the five treasures and so on, and naturally I don't care about the last paragraph, 'everything has the law, like a dream bubble, like dew and electricity, as such a view. ’”
Qiu Yanxue on the side was stunned when she heard this, and asked blankly: "What do you mean?"
This means that as long as you are enlightened at the moment and have a clear mind, this world is not this world, and you can understand and see through everything, and you are already a Buddha, and you are already living like this. ”
"I don't understand this, what does the Yangtze River and reeds have to do with it?" It was not Qiu Yanxue who asked, but another young man on the side. I saw that the man's brows were slightly furrowed, as if he understood the meaning of Zhou Hao's words, but he didn't seem to understand.
"Master Zhipu asked twice, the turbid river is not a river, and the heart reed is not a reed. My understanding is that since I am already on the shore, I have a clear mind, or rather, I am already a Buddha, and this end of the river in front of me is actually the same as that end, and the river is naturally not a river, and this reed is naturally not needed. That is what I have, why ask. ”
Summing up: "So, at this time, this river is in the eyes, naturally it is not a river, and the heart reed, naturally not the heart reed, as the Heart Sutra says, the emptiness is not different color, the color is not different from the empty, even the heart looking at the Yangtze River and the reed is empty, so the present is the other side, the present is the Buddha country!
After Zhou Hao finished speaking, everyone was silent, and many monks and tourists couldn't help frowning and thinking.
In the field, Master Yi Neng and Master Zhipu put their hands together and pronounced a Buddha name in unison: "Amitabha!
Seeing the praise of the two masters, Zhou Hao hurriedly folded his hands and replied: "Disturb the two masters Zen Feng, and please forgive me." ”
Master Yineng laughed, but Master Zhipu on the opposite side asked, "Then, why does Patriarch Bodhidharma still want to cross the river?"
Zhou Hao smiled slightly, and replied directly: "Because he still has to preach the second ancestor!"
After listening to Zhou Hao's words, Yi Neng and Zhipu paused, and then let out a loud laugh, laughing very happily and comfortably. And Zhou Hao also laughed, causing nearly 100 people in the audience to look inexplicable!
"What a preacher two ancestors. ”
"Little friend is extraordinary, Amitabha!"
The two masters both looked at Zhou Hao deeply, and Zhou Hao also smiled at the two of them.
