Chapter 38: The Beginning of GLP
"Caitlin. Eric didn't hesitate in the slightest, "Remember, if another woman gets hurt a little, I swear, I'll make you pay back tenfold, hundredfold, thousandfold." β
There was a haughty laugh on the other end of the line: "I think you should remember that she was Jefferson's only daughter, and this Caitlin, you have only known her for a few days." Great detective, do you like the new and hate the old so quickly?"
"Don't talk nonsense, when can I see people. Eric growled.
"Right now. Parking space No. 152 in the underground parking lot of Triumph Plaza on Champs-ElysΓ©es. With that, the phone was hung up.
Eric sped away, and fifteen minutes later, he saw a red sedan parked in parking space 152, and through the half-open window, he could see Caitlyn who was sleeping. Eric slipped into the passenger seat and turned Caitlyn's body, shaking her shoulders and patting her cheek.
"Hmm-" With a low gasp, Catelyn woke up.
Eric never imagined that such a strong woman's instinctive gasp when she woke up would be so crisp, like a clingy Persian cat, that people couldn't help but want to hold her in their arms. Before he knew it, Eric had in his mind the image of Caitlyn snuggling in his arms, rubbing against his chest.
"How did we end up here. Caitlin immediately looked around alarmedly.
"This ......," Eric coughed lightly, cursing to himself at the thought of the inconsequential.
"What's wrong with you. Caitlin immediately noticed Eric's erratic expression.
"I, I'm fine. Eric immediately changed the subject and told Caitlin what had happened.
"How he did it. Caitlin rubbed her temples.
"I don't know. Eric began to rummage around in his seat, "But since it's three cases, three people, then the next hint for this case should be in this car." β
"You shouldn't have changed me first, Leonardo is much more important than me. There's a hint of reproach in Caitlyn's tone.
"I know what you're worried about. From the time we fell asleep to the present, if Felix were to attack Leonardo, with his means, all the tricks that should have been made at this time would have been recruited, so it didn't make much sense to replace that bad old man first. β
"That'...... Chiko ......," Caitlyn asked tentatively.
Eric pursed his lips, but still explained ruthlessly, "In this case, you are more suitable. β
"Thank you. Caitlyn shrugged her eyebrows, but it didn't seem to be the answer she wanted.
"There it is!" Eric pulled out a file bag from under the passenger seat.
"What's in there?" asked Caitlyn.
"According to credible sources, several dangerous elements will conduct an arms deal in GLP Tower, and find them and all the arms and equipment they have before the deal is closed. After reading the tips and materials in the portfolio, Eric smiled, "It seems that I chose you very correctly. β
"I think so. And Felix is also very caring. Caitlyn pulled her pistol from her waist and opened it,*, "I still have mine." β
It seems that he also pities the jade. Eric frowned slightly, it didn't look like Felix's style. If not Felix, who would it be? a third force found in Lenkenshire?
"Anyway, just check it out. Caitlyn seemed to see what Eric was thinking, and twisted the car keys.
With wild driving skills, Eric and Caitlin completed the 90-minute journey in just 40 minutes. When he arrived at GLP Tower, Eric learned that this was a flea market that was more than 20 years old, and it was indeed a good place to conduct illegal transactions.
Eric bought a dirty blue cloak to wrap around Caitlyn, and smiled, "You need to dress up properly." β
Caitlin realized that many people in the building, men and women, were looking at her strangely. Indeed, his black leather jacket upper body and black leggings are indeed out of place here. She smiled gratefully at Eric, but she was also upset that she had made a stupid mistake.
"Hello, ma'am, your pearl bracelet is really good. Eric turned his head and got close to a woman. However, the woman looked at Eric in a daze, babbling something in a language that Eric didn't understand.
"Your pearl bracelet is really good. Caitlin used the language of a woman's babbling.
"Thank you. Would you like to buy a string?" the woman picked up a sheer bracelet and handed it to Caitlin.
"How much. Caitlyn took the bracelet and gestured a color to Eric, signaling that he didn't have any money with him.
"20 euros. The woman laughed.
Eric took out a 50 euro sheet and said to Caitlin in a dejected manner: "Tell her, I don't have change, 50 euros for two strings, and the remaining 10 euros are tips." By the way, tell me what kind of language this is. β
After Caitlin bought the two bracelets, she told Eric that this was the indigenous language of country Z, that the GLP Mansion was a gathering place for refugees from all over the world, and that the government of country F had allocated such a place for refugees to live for themselves.
"So, ask me again if there are any unfamiliar faces coming in and out of here lately. Eric glanced around, and judging by the way he was dressed, he seemed to be poor people struggling to live at the bottom.
After Caitlyn translated, the woman shook her head and pointed at Caitlyn and Eric. This time, even without Catelyn's translation, Eric could guess the meaning of the babbling language - he and Catelyn were strangers here.
"It's so big, GLP Tower has 12 floors, and each floor is crowded with hundreds of these shops. Caitlin frowned.
"Ask again, I want to eat something special, is there a place like this. β
"Good idea. Caitlin immediately understood Eric's intentions. The woman danced and gestured to a place - the open-air bar on the balcony on the top floor of the GLP Building.
Because there was no elevator, when he arrived at this open-air bar, Eric, who had climbed more than ten floors, ordered a large glass of dark beer and drank most of it in one gulp. The bar was deserted, with a few tables of individual customers, a waiter, and a dog.
"Would you like another drink? The brown-skinned bar guy asked.
"Do you speak English?" Catelyn glanced at the young man who was wiping down a bar glass, who looked no more than fifteen or sixteen years old, with dark brown skin, ponytail hair, and an indecipherable tattoo on the left side of his neck.
"I also know a lot of language, even if it's just a few common phrases. The young man said proudly.
Caitlyn and Eric looked at each other and smiled, each glad they had found the right person.
