Chapter 675: Jizo Sutra
The old monk told Ms. Zhu that the Buddha tests people, sometimes by using ghosts and ghosts to interfere, which is recorded in ancient books from time to time. It means that this person has reached a certain level of practice or accumulation of virtue in the Dharma, and he must stick to the past, and then he will make great progress. If this hurdle is not overcome, all the previous cultivation will be in vain. Ms. Zhu became even more convinced of her ideas, and under the guidance of the old monk, she began a special three-month practice. Not only to eat vegetarian and chant sutras, but also to do a good deed every day, and go to the field to give porridge on the first and fifteenth days of each month.
Ms. Zhu plans that if three months have passed and there is no effect, she will use the most difficult method in the world to give up all her family wealth, become a nun, and completely become a nun. Because many Buddhist friends have said that the people who can test the Bodhisattva are all related to the Buddha, and this kind of person is rare and rare, and it would be a pity to waste the opportunity to practice. Ms. Zhu feels that she is this kind of person with a big Buddha fate, and she must pay attention to it. In the past few months, she has been practicing seriously, doing good deeds and giving porridge, but in the blink of an eye, three months have passed, not only has it not worked, but it has even worsened.
Before, there were occasional strange things at home, but then it developed to once every three or five days. Originally, there were ghosts in the house at night, but now they are often seen during the day, such as cloudy days, thunderstorms, and dark lights in the house. Strange people can be seen everywhere on the sofa, at the dining table, at the head of the bed, and on the window, sitting or standing, hanging or lying. Ms. Zhu's mother and son could see it, especially in the middle of the night, they didn't dare to come out at all, or they just left the lights on all night.
I can't stay at home, and it's the same outside, unless it's noon on a sunny day, if it's morning or evening or cloudy, Ms. Zhu can also see strange figures in every corner of the roadside. She had to spend her days in crowded places, such as bank lobbies, parks and shopping malls. But you have to go home to cook and sleep, and it's not summer, you can spend the night outside all day like a beggar. Ms. Zhu was very distressed, and when she saw the ghosts, she recited the "Dizang Sutra", which was still useful at first, and when she read and recited those ghosts, she slowly became shallow or even disappeared, but then it had no effect at all.
Ms. Zhu's mind became dazed, and she often said that she would give up her family wealth to become a nun while chanting sutras. Xiao Zhu was so frightened that she took the family's passbook, bank card, mother's pension card, house certificate, household registration book, etc. to her mother-in-law's house for safekeeping, for fear that one day her mother would impulsively donate the house and money. Then I thought about it in many ways, and I went to the temple to find a monk, and I went to the Taoist temple to invite a Taoist priest, and I did many times to do any magic and exorcism, and the money was not spent, but the effect was not good.
That day, Xiao Zhu talked about this with a friend when he was drinking, and the friend said, do you want your mother to go to Thailand and try it with the monks and mages there, and they all said that the effect of exorcism is very good. Xiao Zhu doesn't know about Thailand, the friend said that someone in the QQ group posted an advertisement, saying that he was the business manager of a Sino-Thai Buddhist exchange company, specializing in undertaking all kinds of exorcism and head lowering techniques, etc., and posted a lot of pictures and videos, those videos look very supernatural, like real. So Xiao Zhu asked for Ma Zhuang's phone number and communicated with him.
Under Ma Zhuang's three-inch incorruptible tongue, Xiao Zhu felt a little tempted, so he talked to his mother. At first, Ms. Zhu didn't believe it, thinking that China's senior monks and Taoists couldn't solve it, so what was the use of going to Thailand. At that time, she recited the "Jizo Sutra" all day long, and when she went out, she was also reciting it on the road. The Zhu family did not dare to tell the truth to outsiders, which caused many neighbors to talk about Ms. Zhu, thinking that she was crazy and far away, and even relatives rarely moved. That day, Xiao Zhu begged her mother at home to try, otherwise it would not be a way to do this, when would the wife and children go home.
Ms. Zhu couldn't stand her son's persuasion, so she had to call Ma Zhuang. After the initial exchange, it was agreed that I should call Ms. Zhu directly at that time to learn more about the situation, so Ma Zhuang gave me Ms. Zhu's number at the dinner table. Last night, Ms. Zhu couldn't help but go to the toilet because she got up in the middle of the night, but when she opened the bedroom door, she saw a headless person standing at the door, so scared that she would cry and scream on the ground, and she was in a very bad mood. That's why I've been reciting the Jizo Sutra all the time, and I've been reciting her at the dinner table too.
In the evening, Ms. Zhu was lucky not to see anything at home, so she was in the mood to call me back.
"I want to ask a question," I have roughly understood the situation after listening to her so much, "What is the function of the Jizo Sutra?"
Ms. Zhu replied, "You are engaged in the business of Buddhist supplies in Thailand, don't Thai monks chant sutras?" I smiled and said that the biggest difference between Southern Buddhism and Chinese Buddhism is here. Southern Buddhism also holds mantras, but only a few "Ahama Sutras" written in Pali, and targeted mantras, such as those that remove diseases, keep peace and eliminate disasters, and those who transfer fortune, etc., do not hold the mantra of great compassion, let alone the "Jizo Sutra".
"Are there still two schools of Buddhism?" Ms. Zhu wondered. In fact, I am more puzzled than her, even I, who has been a brand dealer for three years, have some understanding, how can she, a layman who has believed in Buddhism for seven or eight years, not even know Theravada Buddhism. I briefly talked about the difference between Mahayana and Hinayana Buddhism, and then told Ms. Zhu that many of the mantras and rituals of Theravada Buddhism in Southeast Asia are more targeted, and that all people in those countries have believed in Buddhism since ancient times, and their practice is relatively pure, at least more than most of the temples and monks in China today. You look at these temples in China, even the most famous thousand-year-old temples, they are not commercialized, the monks and monks in them only recognize money in their eyes, and the negative news is endless, Shaolin Temple is a typical example. Moreover, the Buddhist scriptures handed down from Southeast Asian countries are also ancient, well-preserved, and powerful, which is the most suitable for exorcism.
Ms. Zhu told me that the "Dizo Sutra" is a scripture used by the Buddha to tell his mother about the things in hell, mainly about how great the Jizo King Bodhisattva is, and it is also used to ward off evil spirits. He also said: "They all say, 'I haven't done anything wrong, I'm not afraid of ghosts calling the door', not only have I never done anything wrong, but I often eat vegetarian food and recite Buddha to release my life, it stands to reason that I should not encounter these problems the most, but why did I let me encounter them? Is it that the Buddha is testing me and wants me to go to the Western Elysium?"
I said, "Don't think so, becoming a Buddha and becoming an immortal didn't die early, have you lived enough in this life, to be honest." Ms. Zhu thought for a long time and said no, her little grandson is only two years old, very cute, and her body is okay, hoping to live until her little grandson grows up, marries a wife and has children. I said yes, it is impossible to practice to become an immortal and a Buddha with your unfinished thoughts, so I should temporarily dispel this idea and be an ordinary person.
