Chapter 207: The Mystery of Whereabouts

"At this point, Jiuding, which symbolizes territorial unity and supreme rights, has no whereabouts...... "The master recounted many of these in one breath. www.biquge.info After saying that, he sighed with a very sad sigh, as if he had a lot to do with it.

And everyone can also listen to it, after all, this Jiuding legend, which symbolizes the supreme right and the unification of the country, is different from those Wumao stories.

"You mean...... That Jiuding has disappeared since more than 2,000 years ago?" Ye Qiu suddenly asked after thinking for a long time.

"Hmm...... Ah no...... ...... wrong?" The master replied very unsimply, which sounded very awkward......

......

It turns out that because the age is indeed too old, many truths have been drowned in the long river of history.

And when this Jiuding disappeared, it is difficult to say.

As mentioned earlier, after Qin Shi Huang unified the six countries, he sent an army to move to Luoyi.

However, it never came to pass.

But rumor has it that Qin Shi Huang was not completely unobtained at that time. It's just that what he got at that time was not nine tripods, but eight tripods!

According to rumors, the soldiers who went to fetch the tripod lied to Qin Shi Huang that a strong wind had blown one of the tripods into Surabaya. Note that only one of them was scraped into Surabaya.

Qin Shi Huang also didn't want to think about it, how could the soldiers who had moved to Dingding in Luoyi fall into Surabaya, which was hundreds of miles away? Qin Shi Huang actually turned south to Xuzhou after touring Mount Tai in the east, and really sent people to salvage it in Surabaya, and the result was like fishing for the moon in the water.

And the "Historical Records" is also vague about the eight tripods obtained by Qin Shi Huang.

As for whether these eight tripods are the tripods cast by Dayu? What is the size and weight? What kind of ornamentation is there? Is it square or round?...... and so on, these key issues have never been clearly described in the "Historical Records......

......

The "Historical Records" that entered the era of letter history have three records of whether the Qin Dynasty obtained Jiuding: First, the "Qin Benji" said that King Qin Zhao destroyed the Eastern Zhou Dynasty in the 52nd year (255 BC), and "its instrument Jiuding entered Qin". In other words, Qin Shi Huang did get the Jiuding as he wished.

In Tang Zhang Shoujie's "Justice", it is mentioned that "King Qin Zhao took nine tripods, and one of them flew into Surabaya". This statement is consistent with what is rumored, indicating that Qin Shi Huang only got eight of the nine tripods.

According to the "Qin Shi Huang Benji", Qin Shi Huang toured Mount Tai in the east, turned south, and held a sacrificial ceremony, "want to go out of Zhou Ding Surabaya, so that thousands of people have no water to ask for it, Fude". As for this statement, it is somewhat ambiguous, because it does not make it clear whether Qin Shi Huang was salvaging one of the nine tripods in Surabaya, or whether he was salvaging all of the nine tripods.

However, according to the "Feng Zen Book": Yu cast Jiuding, "by the saint is prosperous, Ding moved to Xia Shang." Zhou De declined, Song Zhishe died, Ding Nai fell, and he was nowhere to be seen"; Qin annihilated Zhou, and Zhou's Jiuding entered Qin. Or say: Song Taiqiu died, and Ding was not under the city of Pengcheng in Surabaya". And this record reveals an important information - what the Qin Dynasty obtained was not Jiuding, but "Zhou Ding".

As a result, this kind of theory makes the mystery of the Nine Tripods even more confusing: Are there eight or nine Zhou tripods obtained by Qin? Is it a Zhou tripod that entered Surabaya, or is all the nine tripods displayed in the Song Society sunk in Surabaya? Is it the 'Zhou Ding' or the 'Shang Ding' or the 'Dayu Ding' that Qin Shi Huang sent people to salvage? Where are the eight tripods obtained by the Qin Dynasty....... and so on, these questions are difficult to answer today......

......

And there is another key question in the legend of Jiuding, that is, whether Dayu or Xia Qi has cast Jiuding?!

To date, there are two different views on this issue.

One opinion is that the bronzes equivalent to the Xia Dynasty obtained from the current archaeology are all small vessels, and the casting process is relatively poor, so it is impossible to cast the big Jiuding at the beginning of the summer, and the historical records are legends, which are the false words of the rulers of the Shang and Zhou dynasties.

Another opinion is that although the bronzes unearthed from the Erlitou culture and Dongxiafeng sites of the Xia Dynasty, which are equivalent to the time of the Xia Dynasty, are not enough to prove that the early Xia Dynasty was capable of casting Dading, these bronzes are not all of that era. When Dayu Xia Qi mastered the most advanced casting technology at that time, it was still possible to cast Dading!

In addition, there are two opinions: first, even if Dayu or Xia Qi cast nine tripods, but because they are symbols of the power of the Xia Dynasty, the Shang Dynasty melted them down after getting them, and added some new materials to cast them into Shang Ding.

Therefore, it is possible that King Wu of Zhou moved to Shang Ding. But it is also possible that he followed the example of the previous dynasty and melted down these tripods and cast them into the Zhou tripods.

The basis for this statement comes from the idiom "reform the old and the new"!

"Zhou Yi Miscellaneous Hexagrams" says, "Revolution, go to the past, Ding, take the new." This record somewhat reveals the information that Shang destroyed Xia Ding and Zhou destroyed Shang Ding.

And in this way, the eight tripods or nine tripods obtained by the Qin Dynasty are the Zhou tripods. Moreover, it is very likely that these Zhou Ding will be burned in Xiang Yu's fire to burn Xianyang!

Another way of saying it is that Jiuding was really cast at the beginning of Xia, and it was really inherited by three generations. In the late Warring States period, King Zhou knew that he could not escape his doom, so he organized manpower to bury Jiuding or Bading deep underground.

Therefore, the historians of the Qin Dynasty and even Sima Qian could not clearly record the whereabouts of these tripods, and the historians of the later dynasties were even more puzzled by this......

......

In the Qing Dynasty, the whereabouts of the nine tripods were even more difficult to investigate, and later generations of historians could only speculate at will.

Wang Xianqian believes in the "Supplement to the Book of Han and the Records of the Suburbs" that the Eastern Zhou royal family had no strength to protect itself in the process of decline. However, during the Warring States Period, the powerful vassal states were eyeing each other, trying to unify China and replace Zhou. Therefore, Jiuding, which symbolizes royal power and "the destiny of heaven", has naturally become a rare national treasure that all princes must want to take.

In addition, at this time, the Zhou royal family was in financial difficulties and could not make ends meet, so they destroyed Jiuding to mint copper coins, and falsely claimed that Jiuding had disappeared, and even said that one of them had flown east and sunk into Surabaya, so as not to let the princes come to ask for trouble by raising troops.

Although this statement seems plausible, it is unbelievable because it does not provide any historical evidence to substantiate it.

And, although modern times from the underground to obtain a lot of Shang Ding and Zhou Ding, archaeological data also show that the Xia Dynasty has entered the Bronze Age, but has not yet obtained the Yu Ding, so people also raised the question of whether Yu really cast Jiuding............

......

"Oh, isn't the appearance of this Dading right now able to solve this historical mystery?" Ye Qiu said with a little excitement......
