Verse 159: Confucian mind leads to heaven and earth
The teacher continued, "If you understand the Tao in your heart, you will only agree with it. Approve of the Word, and then obey the Word to stop what is contrary to the Word. ”
"Then teacher, what do people rely on to understand the Tao?"
"By heart. ”
"By what means does the heart know the Tao?"
"By humility, concentration and meditation. There is never a time when the mind is not storing information, but there is a so-called emptiness, there is never a time when the mind is not taking care of each other, but there is a so-called concentration, and there is never a time when the mind is inactive, but there is a so-called stillness.
People are born with intelligence, and with intelligence they have memory; memory is also the storage of information; the so-called emptiness is not allowed to interfere with the knowledge that is already stored in the heart, which is called humility.
The mind is born with intelligence, and with intelligence it can distinguish different things, distinguish different things, that is, understand them at the same time, and understand them at the same time, that is, take care of each other;
The so-called concentration, not allowing that kind of thing to interfere with the understanding of this kind of thing, is called concentration.
The heart, when it is asleep, will dream, when it is slack, it will gallop and imagine, and when it uses it, it will think and plan, so the heart has never been inactive;
The so-called stillness, not allowing dreams and troublesome thoughts to disturb the wisdom is called meditation. For those who have not yet mastered the Tao and are pursuing the Tao, we should teach them the principles of humility, concentration, and meditation as their guideline of action.
Those who want to attain the Tao will be able to attain the Tao when they reach the point of being humble, those who want to practice the Tao will be able to exhaust all of the Tao when they have reached the point of concentration, and those who want to explore the Tao will be able to perceive the Tao when they have reached the point of meditation.
Those who understand the Tao are very discerning and know that the Tao can be practiced, and this is the person who practices the Tao. Attaining the state of humility, concentration, and meditation is called the greatest clarity.
He has nothing to show his form and cannot see, nothing to see and cannot judge, and nothing to judge but not to be in place.
He sits in the room and can see the whole world, in the modern era and can judge the ancients, he can see the truth of all things, he can understand the law of the society by examining and evaluating the chaos of society, he can control and use all things, he has mastered the great principle of the whole situation and the whole universe is in the palm of his hand.
O vastness and vastness, who can know the end of his wisdom? O vastness and vastness, who can know the depth of his virtues? Ever-changing and complex, who can know the outline of his thoughts? The brilliance is equal to that of the sun and the moon, and the vastness fills the far reaches of the eight directions, and such a person is called a person who has attained the Tao. Where can such a person be deceived?"
"Teacher, you have said so much about the mind, but I still don't understand what the mind is, do you mean the heart?"
The teacher shook his head on the stage and said, "This heart is neither the heart nor the brain, it can only be understood but not spoken, the heart is the master of the body, it is the head of the spirit, it gives orders and does not receive orders from anywhere, it limits itself and drives itself, it decides what to abandon and what to accept, it acts on its own, it stops on its own." So, the mouth can force it to be silent or speak, the body can force it to bend or straighten, the heart cannot force it to change its will, it accepts what it thinks is right, and rejects what it thinks is wrong. Therefore, when the mind accepts external things, its choice is not limited by anything, but must be based on its own opinions, and although the things it perceives are complex and extensive, it will not be half-hearted when its sincerity comes. "Poetry" cloud: "Picking and curling ears, not pouring baskets." I am pregnant, and I am traveling", the oblique basket is easy to fill, and the curly ears are easy to pick, but you can't stay on the road half-heartedly. Therefore, if the mind is scattered, there will be no knowledge, the deviation of the mind will not be precise, and the mind will not be single-minded, and the mind will be confused. If we use a consistent attitude to assist the investigation, then everything can be fully understood. It would be perfect to know for yourself how everything is. There can be no two opposing principles of knowing things, so a wise person chooses one and concentrates on it. ”
"Teacher, your remarks are too profound, how can you achieve one place of mind and achieve single-mindedness?"
"This is extremely rare, the sage knows the trouble of the mind, and sees the disaster of blockage, so there is no desire, no evil, no beginning, no end, no near, no far, no knowledge, no shallow, no ancient, no present, and all things are balanced in the county. Therefore, all differences must not be concealed from each other, so as to be disorderly. ”
After listening to so many lessons, Mu Sheng knew that this cultivation of the truth, the control of the mind is the most important, and this is also the principle that the divine consciousness in the previous deathless Dao method said.
In addition to coming to Bijin Mountain to listen to the lecture, the daily exercise in the tide has not been pulled down, in the competition with the power of the tide, Mu Sheng's body is becoming more and more condensed, and the strength is getting bigger and bigger.
Mu Sheng felt that in the past few years in Bihai, in addition to studying in Tianhong Academy, he had gained the most from exercising in the tide.
Mu Sheng also inadvertently discovered that in addition to using the tides to refine his body, in the weather of thunderstorms, standing in the sea, he can also use the power of thunder and lightning to exercise, but this is also the reason why Mu Sheng has the death Dao method in his body, otherwise he would not dare to take such a risk.
Once Mu Sheng was refining his body in the sea, the blue sea suddenly had a big wave, and in an instant the sky was dark, dark clouds covered the sun, Mu Sheng didn't have time to dodge, and the lightning in the sky split into the waves beside him, and he was electrified with Mu Sheng.
The power of the thunder made the small half of Mu Sheng's body immediately numb, and when he looked at it again, the left half of his arm was scorched black. Mu Sheng hurriedly used the Deathless Dao Method, ran the aura in the body, repaired the numb body and charred arms one by one, with the operation of the aura, the body slowly regained consciousness, Mu Sheng also felt that there seemed to be a trace of thunder power, changing his body, so that his body, which had not changed much with the help of the power of the tides, had changed again. Mu Sheng was overjoyed, feeling that he was a blessing in disguise, and found a way to refine his body.
After that, Mu Sheng would choose to go to the beach for exercise in rainy weather, and he was no longer afraid of the wind and waves in the sea. Not only that, but he also tried every means to swim to the place where the lightning was concentrated. It's just that Mu Sheng's skills are still shallow, and he doesn't dare to directly lead the thunder forging body, otherwise, if he can't keep it, he will really let the thunder split directly on himself.
