One day, after Tang Taizong finished managing the government, Xu Maogong, the minister of the Tang Dynasty, asked: "The queen is seriously ill, and after continuous diagnosis and treatment by the imperial doctor, all kinds of medicines have no effect. Do you know where there is a famous doctor? Please come and continue the treatment for her!" Xu Maogong heard this, so he recommended Sun Simiao to Taizong and said: "Chen has heard that there is a folk doctor Sun Simiao in Huayuan County (now Yao County), who often goes to various places to collect medicine to treat the masses, and is especially good at gynecology and pediatrics. Once the intractable disease passes through his hands, it can be rejuvenated and the medicine can be cured. In the opinion of the minister, it is better to summon him into the palace and treat the queen!"

After hearing Xu Maogong's words, Tang Taizong agreed. He sent envoys non-stop, rushed to Huayuan County in the starry night, and summoned Sun Simiao into the palace.

Tang Taizong saw that Sun Simiao had arrived, so he immediately summoned him and said: "Mr. Sun's medical skills are outstanding, and he has the merit of resurrecting the dead, the queen is seriously ill and unconscious, so I specially invite Mr. to come for treatment, if he can get better, the widow will definitely have a heavy reward." ”

However, in feudal society, due to the constraints of etiquette and religion that "men and women are not close to each other", most of the doctors who treat women in the palace cannot get close to them, and can only diagnose and treat according to the oral descriptions of others. Sun Simiao is a folk doctor, wearing coarse cloth clothes, and the queen's "phoenix body" is even more inaccessible to him. So he called the palace lady beside the queen to ask about the condition, and on the other hand, he asked the imperial doctor to carefully review the medical records and prescriptions. Based on these circumstances, he made a detailed analysis and study, and basically grasped the queen's condition. Then, he took out a red thread and asked the girl to tie the thread on the queen's right wrist, and pull one end out of the bamboo curtain.

Without much effort, Sun Simiao finished diagnosing the queen's pulse. It turned out that Sun Simiao's medical skills were magical, and he could diagnose the beating of the human pulse by relying on the transmission of a thin wire. That's why he was called a miracle doctor by the masses.

"Hooray! The folk doctor has checked the pulse of the disease, and diagnosed it as a fetal position that is not smooth, and the folk call it a pediatric wrench, so the dystocia has not been born for more than ten months, causing the queen to be seriously ill. Sun Simiao finished the diagnosis and told Taizong the cause. After hearing this, Tang Taizong asked, "Mr. Sun is reasonable, but I don't know how you plan to treat it?" Sun Simiao replied: "Just instruct the maid to hold the queen's hand close to the bamboo curtain, and the folk doctor will see the effect by pricking a needle in the finger." So Cai Nu put the queen's left hand close to the bamboo curtain, and Sun Simiao saw that the acupuncture point was stabbed with a needle, and the queen was in pain and trembled. After a while, I only heard the sound of the baby crying, and then Cai Nu hurriedly ran out and said: "Long live Qiyu, after the queen was pricked by Doctor Sun, she gave birth to the prince, and the person also woke up!"

Tang Taizong was overjoyed when he heard this, and said to Sun Simiao: "Mr. Sun is really profound, and his hands are rejuvenated, and he is indeed a famous doctor of our time! Today, he cured the diseases of the middle palace and gave birth to a prince, and it is a miracle to be counted, and the widow has the heart to keep you in charge of the imperial hospital, I don't know what you think?"

Sun Simiao was unwilling to be an official in the court, and was determined to wander all over the world to give medicine and cure diseases for the broad masses of the people, and wrote "A Thousand Golden Prescriptions" to help the world. So he stated his wish to Taizong, and politely declined the official position given by Taizong. When Taizong heard this, it was not easy to force him to stay. He was given a "crown of cupola", a "yellow robe", a gold medal, a good horse, a thousand taels of gold, and a hundred feet of silk. and held a banquet, one to see off Sun Simiao, and the other to celebrate the queen's recovery from illness and the birth of a prince. But Sun Simiao refused the gold silk given by Taizong. Tang Taizong was deeply moved by Sun Simiao's noble character and spiritual outlook of dealing with people, and sent him out of the imperial city with hundreds of civil and military officials, and let him go to the famous mountains and rivers to collect medicinal materials, save the lives and help the wounded for the people of Limin, and no one could stop him.

Tang Taizong admired Sun Simiao very much, and later visited Sun Simiao in Wutai Mountain, Huayuan County, and gave him a eulogy. Until now, there are still Tang Taizong's imperial road, "worship Zhentai", "Tang Taizong give real people ode" ancient monument in Yaowang Mountain South Nunnery, etc. Tang Dynasty Deng King Li Yuanyu, is the eighteenth son of Tang Gaozu, likes to learn, good at talking about the study of distinguishing names and analyzing theories, and Lu Zhaolin is his friend of cloth, he often claims, saying: My fate is like this. Lu Zhaolin was a native of Fan Yang, served as the new commander, and because he suffered from incurable diseases, he lived in Guci Mountain in Yangzhai, and edited and annotated the "Rapid Texts" and "Five Sorrows".

Lu Zhaolin has an elegant temperament and a poet's demeanor, but he later committed suicide by throwing himself into the water. Lu Zhaolin once lived in the abandoned mansion of Princess Poyang in Jingcheng. In the third year of Xianqing, Tang Gaozong summoned Sun Simiao, a hermit of Taibai Mountain, who also lived here at that time. Sun Simiao is a native of Huayuan, and he was already in his nineties at the time, but his eyesight and hearing have not weakened at all. After seeing Sun Simiao, Lu Zhaolin felt sad that he was in the prime of life, but he was riddled with diseases, could not be cured for a long time, and was tired all day long, so he wrote "Tribulus Tree Fu" to mourn the difference between him and Sun Simiao in inheriting the natural physique.

Lu Zhaolin's fu is extremely beautiful. Sun Simiao can calculate the celestial calendar and the art of recuperation and nourishment. Lu Zhaolin and the famous scholars at that time, Song Lingwen and Meng Xu, all treated Sun Simiao with the courtesy of their teachers. They once asked Sun Simiao, saying: What is the basis for the famous doctor to cure the disease? Sun Simiao said: I have heard that people who are familiar with the heavens must be able to find its essence in people, and those who are familiar with people must take the heavens as their essence, so the heavens have spring, summer, autumn, and winter, as well as metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. The alternation of black and day, the alternation of cold winter and summer summer, is the movement of nature. It is the normal law of nature that the atmosphere in nature becomes rain when it is combined, wind when it flows, dew when it spreads, fog when it is disordered, frost and snow when it condenses, and hauni when it stretches and expands. The human body has limbs and five internal organs, and when awake and sleeping, it exhales and inhales, exhales the old and absorbs the new, and circulates the essence and blood of qi and blood. Flow is the circulation of blood and qi, and when it is manifested, it is the complexion of the person, and when it is released, it becomes the sound, which is the normal movement of the human body. Yang uses its essence, yin uses its form, which is the same as heaven and man, and if it violates this normal law, it will get sick. Steaming will cause fever, otherwise it will be cold, stasis will become a tumor, barrier will become carbuncle, run through the disease, panting and puffing exhausted energy, it will scorch, according to the surface diagnosis, you can check the internal changes in the body. The analogy from the human body to the natural world is also the same. Therefore, the changes in the extension and flexion of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth, the errors in the movement of the stars, the phenomenon of solar and lunar eclipses, and the fall of comets are all signs of danger in nature!

The stone was erected. Dirt jumping, this is a tumor in nature. Landslides and subsidence, which are carbuncles in nature. Stormy storm, this is the breath of self-boundedness. If there is no rain or dew, rivers and lakes will dry up, this is the scorching dryness of nature! Good medical medicine is used to induce medicines, acupuncture is used to cure diseases and save people, and holy people use noble morality and are good at using virtue and ability to govern the world. Therefore, there are diseases in the body that can be eliminated, and there are disasters in the sky that can be eliminated, and these are all qi numbers! Lu Zhaolin said: What about things in the world? Sun Simiao said: Be bold and have a small heart; you must be wise and thoughtful, and your behavior must be upright. Si Miao said: The heart is the head of the five internal organs, and it should follow the law, so it should be cautious. Courage is the general of the five organs, and it must be resolute and decisive, so it must be bold. A wise man acts like the sky, so he must be round, and a righteous man is as quiet as the earth, so he must be upright.

The Book of Songs says that it is as if you have walked to the edge of the abyss, as if you are stepping on a thin layer of ice, and you are careful. The mighty and majestic samurai, defending the three princes and nine kings, is bold. The "Biography" says that one should not return because it was profitable, and that one should not repent of one's guilt because of one's benevolence and righteousness, that is, the righteousness of a righteous person. The Book of Changes says that when you encounter an opportunity, you must do it immediately, and you can't wait all day, which is the circle of wise people. Lu Zhaolin asked: What is the most important thing in cultivating one's nature? Sun Simiao said: Heaven is full of things and there are losses, and there are many difficulties and hardships in the world. There has never been a person who has been able to be freed from danger if he did not act prudently. Therefore, people who pay attention to nurturing nature must first know how to be cautious. Those who are cautious about themselves have long been based on fear.

The Sutra says, "If a man is not afraid of calamity, the heavens will send disaster upon you." Fear is the path of life and death, the cause of survival, the root of good and evil, and the source of good and evil. Therefore, if a scholar is fearless, benevolence and righteousness will not exist; if a farmer is fearless, he will not be able to increase grain production; if a worker is fearless, there will be no standards and laws to follow; if a person is a businessman, he will not be able to make a profit; if he is a son, he will not be sincere in honoring his parents; if he is a father, he will not be attached to love; if he is a courtier, he will not be able to make meritorious contributions; if he is a king, he will not be stable。 Those who should be alive are dead, those who should exist are dead, those who should be successful have failed, and those who should be auspicious are in danger. Fear is like fire and water, and you can't forget it for a while! If you don't have to worry about it, your children will become your enemies, and your wives and concubines will become your enemies. Therefore, the most important thing is to be afraid of the Tao, then to be afraid of the sky, then to be afraid of things, then to be afraid of people, and finally to be afraid of yourself.

If you do not forget your fears, you will not be limited by others, and if you always remember your fears, you will not be controlled by others. If you are cautious in small things, you will not be afraid of big setbacks, and if you are not afraid of immediate worries, you will not be afraid of future tribulations. Someone who understands these things. Walking on the road, tigers and rhinoceros will not hurt you, all kinds of weapons will not touch you, all kinds of diseases and plagues will not infect you, people who love to speak ill of others will not slander you, and poisonous bees and scorpions will not be able to sting you. Those who understand this truth will understand everything in the world. Soon, Sun Simiao was awarded the title of Cheng Lang and took charge of the affairs of the pharmacy.

Sun Simiao died in the early years of Tang Gao and Song Yongchun, leaving a will: to bury thinly, do not burn those paper-tied netherworld utensils, and do not slaughter sex animals during sacrifices.

More than a month after his death, the color was still the same as when he was alive, and when his body was carried into the coffin, it felt like he was carrying empty clothes. Sun Simiao wrote 30 volumes of "A Thousand Golden Prescriptions" in his lifetime and passed it on to future generations. Once, Liu Shenwei asked the teacher a question: Why can Chinese herbal medicine cure diseases, and what is the reason?

Sun Simiao replied: "The reason why Chinese herbal medicine can cure diseases is that the principle is biased. Due to the different properties of various drugs: cold, hot, warm and cool, different tastes: sour, bitter, sweet, bitter and salty, different trends of ups and downs, and different meridians, they play a role in regulating the balance of the sick body."

Again, Lu Zhaolin asked the teacher a question: "What is the reason why famous doctors can cure difficult diseases?"

Sun Simiao replied: "A person who is well aware of the changes in the way of heaven must be able to participate in politics and affairs, and a person who has a thorough understanding of human diseases must also be rooted in the law of changes in the way of heaven. There are four seasons and five elements, which change each other, like a rotation. So how does it work? The qi of the Heavenly Dao is harmonious and turns into rain, when it is angry, it turns into wind, when it condenses into frost and mist, and when it spreads out, it is a rainbow. This is the law of heaven, and people also correspond to the limbs and five organs, sleeping day and night, breathing essence, and spitting out the old and accepting the new. The air flow of the human body is injected into the whole body to form the camp qi and the guard qi, the manifestation in the will is manifested in the spirit of the complexion, and the sound is emitted from the outside, which is the natural law of the human body. The way of yin and yang, heaven and man correspond, the yin and yang of the human body are no different from the natural world. When the yin and yang of the human body lose their normality, the body's qi and blood rush upwards and cause fever; if the qi and blood are not passed, it will cause cold; qi and blood accumulate to form tumors and fats; qi and blood sink into carbuncles; the more qi and blood rush wildly, it will cause asthma and fatigue; and the depletion of qi and blood will lead to mental failure. All kinds of signs are manifested outside, and the changes in qi and blood are also manifested in appearance, isn't it the same with heaven and earth?"

Sun Simiao's answer is very exciting, which also shows that his medical attainments are quite profound.
