Verse 887: The Four Noble Truths

Everyone sighed when they heard it, and they all thought about it, but no one spoke for a while, and after a while, Ru Concubine suddenly said: "Since the Buddhists have said these eight sufferings, what is the solution?"

Nangong Yuhuan said with a smile: "Sister Ru Concubine is really a person with a clear mind, and she thought of the key so quickly, yes, the Buddhists have a way to solve these eight sufferings, called the Four Noble Truths." "Truth" means that if it is not reversed, it is the truth. The "Noble Truth" is the infallible truth known to the saints. In Buddhism, the eight major sufferings are concentrated into three categories, namely suffering, bad suffering, and doing suffering, so that suffering can be fully revealed, suffering: it is the pain we feel in our lives, even if it is not pointed out in the Buddhist scriptures, we also think that it is suffering, which has the pain of birth, the pain of aging, the pain of disease, and the pain of death; the pain of love and parting caused by the social environment; Resentment can be bitter. ”

"Bad suffering: refers to the feeling that we are usually happy. From the wisdom of Buddhism, what we call happiness is not really happiness, but also painful in nature. This is because when we have a certain desire, we are satisfied by external stimuli, and there is a temporary balance in our psyche, so we feel happy, and after this situation, you will find that at this time you have changed from the original happiness to pain. This is true of all the happiness that comes from desire in the world, because this kind of happiness can become bad, so it is called bad suffering. ”

"Suffering: also known as impermanence suffering. Everything in the world is impermanent and changing, and this is the law of life in the universe. Everything is impermanent, everything is changing, everything is born and dies in the blink of an eye. Because I can't stand, because I can't save it, it's bitter. Because beauty, health, wealth, and happiness are short-lived, and physical strength is not permanent, but must always be replaced by aging, sickness, and death; Money cannot be kept forever, it will be lost if it is not kept evenly, and the rich will become poor; The power of power will not last, and it is a matter of everyone who was imprisoned yesterday and today that everyone knows it. There is joy in life, but it is not permanent, and once it changes, pain comes. Because our understanding is contrary to the facts of the world, we have suffering. In short, Buddhism believes that in the world of sava, everything is nothing but suffering. ”

"Only when we know that suffering is like illness can we heal it. This is the first noble truth of suffering, the second noble truth, the noble truth is the cause of suffering, he can collect the suffering of birth and death, so it is called the noble truth. Gathering is the gathering of feelings, and the gathering of feelings is the karma caused by afflictions, and the collection is the creation of karma by afflictions. Because of the power of all kinds of karma that we have created in the past, and the causes of all kinds of afflictions in the past and present, we have suffered all kinds of suffering. So what this collection of noble truths is about afflictions and the karmic actions that afflictions create. Nangong Yuhuan introduced.

Concubine Qiang said with a bitter face: "Sister Yuhuan, what you said is too profound, what kind of karma, tricks, I don't understand, not only I can't understand, I guess few of them can understand." I don't believe you ask them. ”

Nangong Yuhuan looked at the remaining few people, and saw that some nodded slightly, and some showed embarrassed smiles, Nangong Yuhuan smiled: "I forgot, you don't understand the knowledge of Buddhism at all, and there is really no way to understand it, okay, then I'll talk about it more simply." ”

"We have a lot of afflictions, and it is impossible to know them all, but we just need to know the six root afflictions, because they cause the other afflictions to arise, so they are called root afflictions. The six fundamental afflictions are also known as the ten confusions, which are: greed, anger, ignorance, slowness, doubt, and seeing. These six fundamental afflictions hinder people's liberation from birth and death, and the three most serious of them are greed, hatred, and naivety, which are called the three poisons, and the most serious of these three poisons is craving. ”

"Wait, wait, why don't I understand it, how can covetousness become a sin? I understand that slow is the meaning of pride and complacency, but what does that mean?"

Nangong Yuhuan smiled slightly and said, "The types of love are divided into greed and attachment to the five desires of pleasure, wealth, and power. Greed and attachment to ideas, ideals, opinions, opinions, theories, concepts, beliefs. The greed and persistence of survival, regeneration, survival and eternal life. The thirst for no longer existing. "Love" in afflictions is the main reason for the collection of truths, so the collection theory says, "If there is love, if there is love, if there is love, if there is greed and joy to gather love, if the other is happy to love, it is the name of the collection of truths." That is to say, love is the main cause of suffering, and our covetousness for the things that are in place is called love. We want to pursue the eternal self and the future after death, and this kind of covetousness causes us to continue to be born in the future after death, which is the future love. When the present state arises, we cling to it because of confusion, which is called greed and joy and love. We know that we are in such a state of happiness in the present, and we will also have such a state in the future, which is called Bibi's happy love. Compared with the life of the husband and wife today, the life is more comfortable and loving, and I hope that the husband and wife will get married again after death in the future. ”

Concubine Qiang was stunned when she heard this: "So this is greed?

Nangong Yuhuan said: "Seeing is divided into body view, side view, evil view, seeing and seeing, and forbidden view, this is somewhat professional, and it is not very important, so I will not introduce it." On the contrary, this karma is more mysterious, and karma gives rise to cause and effect, and karma in turn causes karma, which is like the transformation of yin and yang, which makes people unpredictable. ”

"On the basis of the first two noble truths, you can practice the third noble truth of extinguishing the noble truth, and the full name of the noble truth of extinguishing is the noble truth of extinguishing suffering. It shows that sentient beings can be liberated from the continuous retribution of birth and death. Extinction refers to the elimination of confusion, karma, suffering, and the cessation of ignorance and afflictions such as greed, hatred, and ignorance, and the cessation of the mind of artificiality. ”

"Nirvana, isn't it death?" Ru Concubine frowned and asked softly. Nangong Yuhuan glanced at everyone in the audience and found that it was not only Ru Concubine who had this concept.

Nangong Yuhuan said: "Nirvana is not death, it is lifelessness, and there is no birth so it is immortal, so Nirvana is also called immortality and immortality." Because it is not born so it is non-being, and if it is not being, it is neither being nor nothing, so nirvana does not belong to existence or non-existence. There are a lot of people who misunderstand Nirvana, and they ask in confusion whether that person exists after Nirvana, where did he go? But Nirvana is non-becoming, and without birth there is no destruction, so it cannot be called being, nor can it be called nothing. When something is born, you call it being, and when it is destroyed, you call it nothingness, and if it is not born, it cannot be called being, and it cannot be called nothing. Nirvana does not belong to existence or non-existence, so one cannot ask whether the nirvana exists or does not exist? Existence or non-existence is the concept of afflictions. Nirvana does not have a person who has attained nirvana, because the person who has attained nirvana has attained nothing, including this "me", that is, he has realized "selflessness", and since there is no self, there is no self to realize nirvana. Enlightenment nirvana is the wisdom of being free from afflictions, and there is no way to attain it. ”
