Chapter 381: The Castle
He didn't raise his hand to Thor, but raised a finger to the side, like a scarecrow making a point.
Thor looked in the direction he was pointing, there were buildings and laneways, and of course there might be something else in a place where he couldn't see it. But what did he mean by that? Did he let himself go over there, or did he let himself go from that side?
For a moment, Thor even had the feeling of being in a conflict with someone in the tavern.
Some drunkard looks up at you and points to you, and then he says, "Boy, let's go out and talk."
Thor valued the only interaction at the moment, and he thought that if he left it alone, he would probably be in even more trouble.
The feeling that this unknown creature brings to Thor is even more bizarre than when he first met the dragon shiitake mushroom. Moreover, the speed of his fifth order has not been able to shorten the distance between them, it is likely that the other party is stronger than him, or the two sides are not comparable at all.
Just as human beings are limited by their own skeletal structure, there are some body movements that may be imaginable but are destined to be impossible. Can you compare flexibility to a slime? Obviously not, neither of them is a species.
Eventually, Thor took his sword and slowly approached the direction the guy was pointing. However, he kept his posture facing the other party, making sure that this guy was always in his field of vision, so that nothing more dangerous would happen.
After taking a few steps, Thor noticed some more changes.
The guy in the field of vision seemed to flicker for a moment, then silently changed positions. Assuming that he initially thought of the guy as being due north of himself, he now moved to the edge of his northwest field of vision.
Thor felt as if he was vaguely grasping something, so he adjusted his direction in time to make sure the guy was still in front of him. Sure enough, after walking a few steps, the guy flashed again and changed direction again.
This made Thor feel ...... This guy seems to be leading the way with his own body?
This speculation is not really much basis, more like a temporary instinct on the part of Saul.
Thor tried to stop, and the guy across from him stopped.
Then Thor hesitated, assuming that his judgment that he guessed that the other party was leading the way was correct, and now the question was where he was going to take him? was it good or malice? a means of luring the enemy, and what was waiting for him in front of him?
In the end, Thor took another step forward, because he had no means to get rid of the other party, and there was no possibility of backing down.
After following him through the alleyway for a while, Thor noticed that the guy was standing in front of a normal building, and flashed a few times in quick succession. Saul couldn't help but suspect that this was a reminder to himself...... Got to the place?
After a few flickerings, the guy actually disappeared from Thor for the first time.
Thor didn't think the guy had let him go, and he suspected that the guy might have entered the building.
After quickly scanning the surroundings, he found no superfluous anomalies, and Thor could only approach the building with his longsword.
The building is not large, a private house, it looks like a single-room structure but has two floors, and Thor is judging quickly in his mind as he approaches.
When he reached the door, Thor felt inexplicably nervous, and opened the dilapidated wooden door with the tip of his sword. That guy wouldn't suddenly come out from behind the door, would it? Thor fantasized about several possible attacks, and raised his guards.
Standing in the doorway and glancing inward, there was no strange figure of the guy in the room.
Sure enough, it is a single-room structure, and it is very ordinary to sweep away all kinds of furnishings at a glance, obviously this is just a civilian family.
Finding nothing out of the ordinary, Thor cautiously stepped inside, then stood in the middle of the house to make sure he was away from the wall.
The sudden crampedness of the space made Thor very insecure, after all, his dark vision could not penetrate the wall, and the wizard's eye potion had forgotten to take with him, and he didn't know if that guy was looking at him somewhere at the moment.
After a glance of the interior, there was nothing unusual on the first floor, there was a wooden staircase leading to the second floor leaning against the wall, and then there was a small wooden door that seemed to connect to the backyard. Thor pushed the small wooden door on the first floor open, then took a look.
In the courtyard, there is a small square vegetable field of the same width as the house type, surrounded by a circle of rough handmade wooden fences. Today, because the fields have been left untended for a long time, they have long been densely weeded, and the original crops have been flooded.
Thor wasn't sure what he was going to do right now, so he went back inside and looked out the door, and sure enough, the guy was at the edge of his vision, flickering when Thor looked at it. Saul thinks the flickering is likely to mean 'here, here'.
He could only retreat and climb to the second floor, where he had not yet explored.
With Thor's stampede, the old wooden staircase of the staircase made an overwhelming 'creaking' sound, but fortunately it was not rotten to the point of breaking, and stubbornly supported Thor all the way to the second floor.
Like an alert mouse, Thor quickly glanced to the second floor and then retracted. There was silence, no ambushes or anomalies for the time being, and Thor had just finished the last few stairs and stood on the floor of the second floor.
The furnishings on the second floor are still ordinary, there are small round tables with wooden beds in the wardrobe, and there is an oil lamp that has not been lit for a long time on the dusty small round table. If there's anything different about the second floor, maybe it's a corpse next to the bed.
Thor used his blade to open the closet, which was nothing special except for some moldy and hairy clothing.
Coming to the window and opening the window, Thor saw that the guy below flickered in time for a reminder.
Saul thought it was amazing.
Because the guy is still precisely at the edge of his vision, the key is that when he is at the window on the second floor and at the door on the first floor, the distance between himself and the guy must be different. That guy would even be a gap in order to see him.
Well, it seems that the puzzle is at that, and Thor instinctively thinks that the corpse next to the bed is probably the answer to the puzzle.
Judging by the dress and the long withered hair that had not yet completely decayed, the corpse was clearly a woman.
She was half-kneeling on the floor, her upper body lying on the bed, her hands hanging down to her legs, her cheeks facing sideways.
This looks ...... Seems a bit like poisoning?
Seemingly painful before she died, Thor couldn't help but imagine the scene of her kneeling on the ground, her hands on her stomach, her head against the edge of the bed, curling up to relieve some kind of physical pain. Until resistance was ineffective, life was lost, and finally his hands hung down at his legs.
It doesn't matter if this speculation is correct or not, the point is why the guy downstairs took the trouble to lure himself here?
If this woman hadn't died, maybe she had asked herself to help her, but she had obviously been dead for a long time.
Maybe this woman was his mother, his sister, or a woman? Thor didn't know.
After all, the guy downstairs was blurry, and he couldn't tell his age or appearance, and he didn't even know whether it was 'him' or 'she'.
There was silence for a moment, and Thor suddenly smiled, the guy wouldn't see that he was once a grave keeper, would he? he suspected that the guy downstairs was trying to get his help to bury the woman, because he didn't seem to be able to do it himself.
Just do it when you think of it, it doesn't matter if it's a mystery or not, it's just a trivial matter.
Thormont put on a towel and found a few moldy rags. Wrap your hands in a cloth and chase away the insects from the corpses, packing up the ashes and moving them downstairs. As for the cemetery, it is a vegetable patch on the first floor, and it can be regarded as sleeping peacefully in the backyard of his house.
Soon Thor felt like he had scored the puzzle, because whether he was digging a hole or tying a cross, the guy was watching from afar, not knowing whether he was grieving or remembering. Every time Thor looked over, he flickered.
"What do you want to do to your ...... Well, do you have anything to say from your loved ones?" asked Saul casually before entering the ground.
The guy stopped flickering, just silent.
Thor just think about it, otherwise it might not be easy to find a tombstone in this town.
Closing the grave and holding the cross in front of it, Thor clapped his hands and stood up, turning his head to look at the guy.
Then Thor saw that although the guy was still vague, he seemed to bend down and bow, and then just kept bowing, and gradually faded into Thor's field of vision.
And with his disappearance, Thor felt that the peeping sensation around him disappeared in an instant, and it was clear that 'he' had left.
Thor couldn't help but wonder a little.
If the peep of yourself in the town comes from this guy, what about those in the wilderness before?
Do you want to dig holes everywhere to help them bury people? Thor doesn't know.
"Thorn la stab~" The sound of Thor walking through the wilderness outside the nameless town sounded again, and he thought it was strange. Because from the moment he left the town, the peep from the shadows surrounded him again, but there seemed to be a lack of familiarity.
Just now in the town, if you put aside the weird part of it, Thor actually enjoyed the silent interaction.
The guy would rather be in the wilderness than let his beloved fall into the ground.
For any relationship that can travel through time and life and death, Thor has always been respectful.
I continued walking in one direction, stopping halfway to replenish some water, and I don't know how long I walked.
Then as he walked, a signboard suddenly appeared in front of him.
Thor happily quickened his pace, but soon his expression became a little playful again.
"Please go to the left. "Although the text is familiar to me, it is said on the sign.
This is obviously strange.
Typical signage will only tell you what town leads in such and such directions, and will not directly take you in an unknown direction.
At first glance, there are three roads at this fork in the road, left, center, and right, but why go to the left? What's on the left?
Saul walked to the right, for no specific reason, perhaps because of his personality.
And then...... There's another signpost ahead.
"Please go to the left. "The signposts are still sticking to it.
Thor didn't believe it, so he just changed direction and walked sideways.
When the signpost appeared in the front of him again, he didn't even have to look at it, Thor knew that he might be being targeted by something again, but he didn't know if 'he' would flicker.
Following the signs, Thor ended up standing in front of an iron gate of the manor. There was no way, just relying on the trick of the other party's finger on the street sign, Thor suspected that if he didn't follow the instructions, he might not have any more opportunities to walk around in the future.
From the farthest point of view, you can barely see a small part of the bottom of the building, and the masonry structure reminds Thor of a castle building.
"Squeak~" No one has no wind, and the rusty arrow-topped iron door in front of him opens by itself like welcoming visitors.
Just as Thor was about to step in.
"Be careful, you're walking into its rules. A voice suddenly rang out beside Thor.
