Chapter 146: Entrance Trial (Part II)
Feeling the growing magical energy above his head, the gray-haired priest was secretly surprised. He didn't expect Luo Ning to not only have amazing speed and strength, but also have such good magical attainments.
At this moment, a bright electric light suddenly began to shine, reflecting the gray-robed mage's face pale. He looked up, only to see Luo Ning wave his wand in front of him, and the rolling thunder and lightning made a crisp sound, bright as snow, winding like a snake, running like the wind, and in the blink of an eye, it broke through the air and spread to the feet of the fourteen people.
"Bang bang bang!" four muffled sounds appeared in succession, and thick steel shields on all sides pierced the ground, blocking the menacing magical attacks of the mages and assassins behind them. After the thunder and lightning released by Luo Ning hit the shield, they were blocked by the fighting energy covering the surface of the shield and scattered in all directions. It's just that although these shields can dissolve the magic energy, they can't remove the huge impact contained in this magic, and they are pushed backwards more than two meters, leaving four deep marks.
Protected by warriors, the mages chanted incantations, fireballs, icicles, and windblades, and five distinct streams of magical energy slammed into Ronin from five different directions over the scorching lightning. This time, the latter did not dodge with extraordinary speed, but responded with a more "magician" method.
After the incantation, Ronin strode in front of the gray-haired priest, his body gradually becoming distorted and transparent from the top of his head, and it looked like it was coated with a layer of blue fluorescent light to outsiders. After a few moments, the fluorescent light faded along with Ronin's body, and it didn't stop until the outline of his form could no longer be seen. However, such an ethereal and light body like a phantom blocked all the five magical energies that arrived almost at the same time in an instant, but it was not damaged in the slightest.
The Secret Law - the Magician!
With this mysterious magic that did not exist in the Lost Continent, Luo Ning finally escaped.
"Boom!"
Five clouds of magical energy accumulated in one place, and after fierce friction and collision, they exploded, rolling up a monstrous cloud of smoke and filling all directions. The group of teachers and students watching from the side of the gladiatorial arena exclaimed in surprise, and nine times out of ten, they thought that Luo Ning had been seriously injured and fell to the ground under the bombardment of the five magic spells, and began to praise the bravery of the fourteen young people.
Only the more powerful deans such as Jing Lie and Solas frowned, capturing the translucent figures that would appear at the moment of the collision of the energies of the two sides, and their surprise was beyond words.
Seeing Luo Ning blocking the attack, Jing Lie's face flashed with a hint of pride, and he deliberately said to Solas: "Solas, what you said is right. A young man like him really doesn't need to waste time learning your magic, it's only right to come to my Assassin Academy for a few years to hone it!"
Solas snorted coldly and choked back: "Hmph, what do you know! Magic is vast and profound, and specific skills are at best trivial! The depth of understanding of magical power is the key to determining the achievements of magicians! At this point, there is no more suitable place than the Academy of Magic! It's just that although this kid is powerful, his character is too dirty. This kind of ability has taught him, and I am afraid that he will become the second Bald in the future!"
"Don't mention that name casually! Have you forgotten the old dean's warning?" Jing Lie's face changed when he heard the name, as if they were talking about some kind of terrifying and vicious monster.
"Don't use that name to compare with Ronin. I don't know why you're so prejudiced against this kid. But don't forget: he saved the lives of dozens of students, saved the Golden Water City that was swallowed by a sandstorm, and when he entered Morrowind Academy, the old dean personally agreed!"
This was meant to help Ronin clear up the misunderstanding, but Flamel never talked to anyone other than Jing Lie about the inside story of the Tyrug Sandstorm, and after Ronin's Nick Reinhardt's accident, Jing Lie was the only one who heard about the Storm Demon Sword from the old dean. So Jing Lie's efforts unexpectedly backfired.
After hearing this, Solas thought to himself: "Jing Lie, this kid and the old dean's father and son, and Luo Ning was brought in by the old dean's consent, no wonder Jing Lie was deceived by this cunning boy!" As soon as he thought of this, he had a deeper prejudice against Luo Ning, and secretly determined to punish him severely in the future trial.
The words were divided into two ends and returned to the field. Fourteen people couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief at the same time when they saw five magic spells hit Luo Ning's body. However, at this moment, a few slight coughs accompanied by a thick wind system magic energy came out of the large cloud of smoke, which made everyone startled again.
"Warriors! help us stop!" the mages hurriedly called for reinforcements, trying to replicate the attack they had just made. However, as soon as they pronounced a spell, they felt a lightness under their feet, and their bodies were suddenly swept into the air by two gray hurricanes dozens of meters high. After that, the two storms drew a pair of semicircular arcs of wind, converging into an even more terrifying tornado.
Wind Magic: Energy Storm!
Not just the five mages, but thirteen of the fourteen young men were affected and sucked into the gray storm, except for one timid assassin who caught a quick glimpse of a faint green light behind the smoke and escaped by stealth.
This amazingly powerful wind magic finally let everyone on the sidelines see Luo Ning's powerful magic cultivation.
What they didn't expect, however, was that this huge cone-shaped tornado was far from over. Lines of cold, dazzling pale lightning suddenly appeared, falling mercilessly from the top of the tornado.
Jing Lie saw that those thunderbolts were about to fall, and his face changed greatly: "It's not good, the power of this magic is too great, those children are in danger!"
"Ronin, kid, you've gone too far!" said Soras, dissatisfied, as he pulled out his wand and tried to cast a spell to interrupt Ronin's movements.
But at this moment, the thunder, hurricane, and even magical energy were all gone. The two directors looked towards the center of the gladiatorial arena, only to see that Luo Ning had just put down his magic and reached out to pull the gray-robed priest up from the ground.
"It was that kid who withdrew the magic in time!" Jing Lie saw the doorway and said with a smile, "It seems that he is not as bad as you think!"
Soras's expression was cold: "I can only say that he is not too stupid, and he knows how to measure himself!
Jing Lie was an assassin, and at a glance he saw the cowardly assassin who had just escaped alone, and now he had quietly touched Luo Ning's side. He thought for a moment, shook his head and sighed, "Hey, it's useless, this trial is over!"
"What?" Solas looked into the middle of the field in amazement, only to see Ronin point his wand at an empty spot on the left, and the tip of the wand glowed awe-inspiringly, emitting an extremely strong wave of magical power.
