Chapter 439: The Two Killer Weapons of the Army Aviation Force!
The Army Aviation Corps of the Southern Military Region is currently mainly equipped with some of the AH-1W Super Cobra gunships and UH60 Black Hawk helicopters provided by the United States.
China's self-developed and produced Zhiwu and Zhiliu have already been ordered by Director Yang Da to stop production.
The army aviation units of the major military regions are now waiting with great bare eyes for the two brand-new advanced helicopters manufactured by the Fourth Aviation Industry Group, the Zhi-9 Jinlu and the Wuzhi-10 Longbow.
Director Yang, who is now in charge of the distribution of weapons and equipment in the whole army, is in front of him, and Xu Shangyou will certainly not miss this rare opportunity.
"Brother Weiping, if the central authorities want to disarm, it will definitely be the soldiers who will be cut!" Xu Shangyou took the wine bottle and poured half a glass into the small wine cup in front of Yang Weiping, and then filled it for himself, "There is not a single soldier brought out by Xu Shangyou!" Now it is in response to the new military thinking and policy of the whole army's scientific and technological training, like the series of training programs formulated by our army aviation unit in order to combat in the fifth space. It's just that I don't have enough new helicopters in my hands! Many training subjects can only stay on paper, and some can only be improvised with models on the ground. ”
Hearing Xu Shangyou say this, how could Yang Weiping not know what the meaning of the words of the great commander was Lu Dao.
While the Fourth Airlines is refitting the B1 and B2 carrier-based aircraft of the Qiang-5, the development of military transport helicopters and armed helicopters is also proceeding smoothly.
There are two T-700-GE-700 turboshaft engines equipped with UH60 Black Hawk and AH1W Cobra helicopters as prototypes as references, plus the production technology and technical reserves of the original domestic Z-5, Z-6 and turboshaft 5 engines, on the basis of the WS6-H1 core engine, the development of new turboshaft engines is also quite smooth.
Turboshaft engines, like turbofan engines, have the basic structure of gas generators such as air intakes, compressors, combustion chambers, and tail nozzles, but the turboshaft engines are equipped with free turbines, that is, they do not drive the compressor. A turbine designed for power output.
The WZ16 turboshaft engine developed by Changan Aero Engine Research Center is an improved version of the T700-GE-700 turboshaft engine, replacing the original 5-stage axial compressor with a 1-stage centrifugal compressor. The compressor has also changed from the original 1-stage centrifugal type to a 2-stage centrifugal structure.
The unit design is adopted, which greatly reduces the number of parts, and the whole engine is divided into three units. These include reduction gears and transmission casings, gas generators, and power turbines. The air flow is 4.55 and the total boost ratio is 18. The power-to-weight ratio is 6.85, the turbine inlet temperature is 1462 degrees, and the total weight is 196.5 kg.
The WZ16 is designed for condition-based maintenance, condition monitoring and fault detection. There is no need for regular repairs and overhauls, and only the unit body needs to be replaced after an intentional engine occurrence. The design life is 5000 hours, including 750 hours of 100% take-off power.
The system is equipped with a dual-channel full-authority digital engine electronic control system, and the fuel quantity is reasonably distributed and adjusted by an electronic regulator, which reduces the fuel consumption of the engine and improves the power utilization.
When the WZ16 turboshaft engine is working with twin engines, the take-off power can reach 1300 kilowatts. The maximum continuous power is 1100 kW. If one side of the engine appears deliberate, then the engine on the other side can increase the power to 1400 kilowatts. However, this requires increasing the turbo speed to the limit, which is too expensive for the engine to last too long, otherwise the engine will overheat and be damaged. Or even complete scrapping.
From the working condition of the extreme test, the 30-minute emergency power of the WZ16 turboshaft engine is 1310 kilowatts, which means that the WZ16 turboshaft engine can meet the requirements of 7~10 ton helicopters. And this class of helicopter is the main model of the army aviation equipment of various countries in the world today.
With the qualitative progress made in the field of materials and precision machining in China, the machining accuracy of gears can basically reach E and F levels, which provides a solid industrial foundation for the development of high-power final reducer and transmission system. It has created the most favorable conditions for China's independent development of high-performance helicopters.
After the successful development of the WZ16 turboshaft engine, high-power final reducer and transmission device, the work of imitating the UH60 Black Hawk helicopter came naturally.
The straight-nine crossbow medium-sized utility helicopter has an articulated rotor with 4 blades, and the blades can be manually folded. 4 blade tail rotors, located on the right side of the tail oblique beam, the tail oblique beam can be folded to the right. The rear three-point landing gear cannot be retracted. There are 2 pilots in the cockpit, and 12 heavily armed soldiers can be cut in the main cabin.
The powertrain is equipped with two WZ16 engines with a maximum take-off weight of 11 tons. The Straight-Nine has an empty weight of 5.12 tons, which means that its maximum load can reach 5.8 tons. Removing 1~1.5 tons of oil, the load of the straight-nine crossbow is about 4 tons, which can carry about 10-15 fully armed soldiers, other light artillery, anti-tank missiles and other weapons.
The maximum level flight speed is 296 km/h, the maximum cruising speed is 268 km/h, the cruising speed is 195 km/h, the vertical climb rate is > 2.28 m/s, the practical ceiling is 6590 meters, and the range (maximum take-off weight, maximum fuel in the aircraft, 30 minutes of remaining fuel) is 600 km. The battery life is 2.3 hours. The advent of the Zhijiu crossbow has completely eliminated the dependence of China's army aviation on foreign helicopters in medium-sized tactical helicopters, especially the dependence of plateau helicopters on foreign helicopters.
After the Zhijiu crossbow was mass-produced, the Wuzhi 10 Longbow also followed closely behind, becoming the second new helicopter gunship to join the army aviation force.
The Wuzhi Ten Longbow is based on the AH1W Cobra helicopter gunship, and according to the AH-64 Apache design drawings provided by Yang Weiping, a new type of armed helicopter developed by the Americans is also refreshing.
The four-bladed main rotor system of the Wuzhi Ten Longbow is an improved fully hinged rotor. It has a service life of 4500 hours. The V-shaped steel belt stacked bracket in the propeller hub cover is used to connect the propeller hub and the rotor blade, and this flexible V-shaped steel belt replaces the swinging hinge and variable pitch hinge of the traditional fully hinged rotor.
In addition, the steel belt laminated bracket is still connected to the rotor blades by a conventional pendulum hinge, and there are two sway dampers on both sides of the rotor. Compared with the traditional swing hinge and variable pitch hinge, the steel belt laminated bracket and elastic bearing of the Wuzhi 10 longbow rotor system do not need lubrication and sealing, so that the logistics maintenance workload can be reduced. ONE OF ITS MOST CRITICAL REINFORCED BOLTS IS MADE OF A NEW HIGH-STRENGTH TITANIUM ALLOY, WHICH CAN WITHSTAND FRONTAL SHOTS FROM 12.7MM BULLETS.
The Wuzhi 10 Longbow uses coaxial twin tail rotors, each with two blades, which has the advantage of counteracting the torsion exerted by the tail rotor system and avoiding negative effects on the fuselage control.
The co-pilot and shooter of the Wuzhi 10 Longbow is located in the front seat, and the front driver's seat is in the back seat, both seats can be used for flight control and weapon fire control, etc., and the two seats are separated by bulletproof glass to reduce the chance of injuring two crew members at the same time when hit by enemy weapons.
The cockpit cover glass of the Wuzhi 10 Longbow is designed with a flat plate to reduce reflection, the front section of the fuselage is made of multi-beam stainless steel structure reinforced with plastic steel, and the rear section is made of honeycomb structure with plastic steel skin, the body can withstand the attack of 12.7mm ammunition and a small amount of 23mm ammunition, and the main rotor rod can also withstand the direct hit of 12.7mm armor-piercing bullets and a small number of 23mm high-explosive shells. With a complete loss of lubricating oil, continue to operate for 30 minutes, giving the pilot time to fly the aircraft out of the battlefield or make a forced landing.
The landing gear has a strong shock absorption force and can withstand the reaction force generated when the fuselage hits the ground at a high speed. The two WZ16 turboshaft engines located above the short wings on both sides of the fuselage are very far apart, and the chance of being hit by an enemy weapon at the same time is very small, and the engine exhaust port is equipped with a black hole air cooling device, which can introduce cool air around the exhaust port to reduce the exhaust gas temperature and reduce the chance of being locked by enemy shoulder-fired infrared anti-aircraft missiles.
The Wuzhi Ten Longbow has the world's first-class observation/fire control system, the main observation system is located in the nose of the aircraft, divided into two parts: target acquisition system and pilot night vision system.
The target acquisition system consists of five units: laser ranging and calibration instrument, forward-looking infrared system, gunner-specific optical direct sight, daytime television camera and laser calibrator, all of which are installed in a rotating tower with a dual-axis stabilization system located in the nose of the aircraft, so that the crew can smoothly aim at the target in the fierce tactical movement and have strong night combat capabilities.
The Pilot's Night Vision System is a forward-looking infrared system designed for night flights, located in a separate rotating tower above the nose, allowing pilots to have a clearer view of the exterior when flying dangerous night landscapes.
The horizontal rotation range of the target acquisition system is 120 degrees to the left and right, and the vertical pitch range is -60~+30 degrees, while the horizontal rotation range of the pilot's night vision system is 90 degrees to the left and right, and the vertical pitch range is -45~+20 degrees. Wuzhi Ten Longbow uses a forward-looking infrared system to replace the starlight night vision goggles as the main night vision system on the plane, which can be called a major technological innovation in today's world.
The basic operating principle of traditional starlight night vision goggles is to magnify the faint visible light source from the outside world, which will greatly reduce the performance in the environment where the external light source is blocked by bad weather and smoke, and cannot penetrate the shelter, while the forward-looking infrared system that passively senses the external infrared signal can theoretically overcome this obstacle and even detect enemy targets in trees and bunkers.
The two forward-looking infrared systems equipped with the Wuzhi 10 Longbow are mainly mechanical scanning, with a resolution of 1X128, a maximum detection distance of 13km, a classification distance of 5.7km, and a friend or foe identification distance of 2.4km.
THE WEAPON SYSTEM CONSISTS OF A 25MM SINGLE-BARRELED CHAIN GUN MOUNTED UNDER THE BELLY OF THE FUSELAGE, AND FOUR HARDPOINTS ON TWO SHORT WINGS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE FUSELAGE. EACH HARDPOINT CAN BE EQUIPPED WITH A 19-PACK 70MM ROCKET LAUNCHER AND A SET OF QUADRUPLE M-299 MISSILE LAUNCHERS WITH HELLFIRE ANTI-TANK MISSILES. (To be continued.) )
