Chapter 120: The Development of the Base

Last night, he and Wang Dayong and Tian Long did not discuss a clear solution, so Tian Chuan put aside the matter of the agricultural cooperative for the time being, and today he was going to see his own production base.

After nearly two months of order-based sales, the staff of the greenhouse and the chicken farm have become familiar with and adapted to this special sales model. As the harvest of several leafy greens in the two greenhouses gradually ended, new vegetables were planted.

Nowadays, Chinese cabbage, various radishes, mustard gnocchi and other traditional winter storage vegetables are grown. Seasonal vegetables that were planted in the past were only planted in the greenhouse one small piece at a time to ensure the abundance of varieties and the requirements of the picking cycle. Now these vegetables are planted one by one, and they will be stored and sold after harvesting in the future.

Earthworm farming is still unanomalous and proceeds at an established pace. The amount of chicken food has increased after laying eggs, but the new greenhouse has ensured the production of earthworms, and now the earthworms produced are not only to meet the requirements of feeding chickens, but also a large part of them are used to feed fish, and some are made of dried worms to supply the needs of Zhu Dacheng's bait production.

It's late summer and early autumn, and it's the time when all kinds of wild insects breed in large numbers, and Tagawa's insect trap is able to catch a large number of insects every day, and these insects are used to feed the chickens, which not only saves feed, but also enriches the chickens' diets, killing two birds with one stone.

Due to the damage caused by the heavy rain in early July, many vegetable production bases near Beijing reduced production or failed to harvest, and the price of vegetables in Beijing once rose significantly. After Tian Chuan and Liu Meiting discussed, they did not follow the trend to increase the price. Tian Chuan judged that the state would not let it be difficult to eat vegetables in the capital, nor would it allow prices to rise sharply, and would certainly transfer vegetables from other places into Beijing to stabilize vegetable prices. Sure enough, in just three days, the price of vegetables returned to its original level.

Several types of melons grown in greenhouses are ripe. The melons in the base were not affected by the heavy water, and the quality of the melons was greatly improved during the ripening period, and the taste was much better than that of similar products on the market. These melons have already started to sell, and the response among customers has been so good that every day* is sold out.

The eggs' * have been relatively smooth and getting better and better. The overproduction problem that Tagawa feared did not arise, mainly because the eggs had a very good taste, far stronger than those ordinary eggs on the market, and the color of the yolk was golden, which made people feel the taste of real free-range eggs. A good reputation brought a large number of members*, and later Liu Meiting had to take measures to limit purchases.

In addition, members generally report that the daily shipment of roosters is too small, and they can't grab it if they are slower. It is difficult for members to grab the phone* and they have made requests to reserve a certain share for the phone members. Liu Meiting was under pressure and had to keep six of each of the two types of roosters for telephone members every day.

She discussed with Tagawa in the hope of increasing the shipment of roosters. Tagawa did not agree, the reason is very simple, there are only more than 3,000 roosters in total, and the shipment of 40 roosters a day can only last for about 80 days. Until now, there are a thousand roosters left, which will be sold out in a month, and when the time comes, this business will cease. Although 5,000 rooster chicks have already entered the market, this batch of roosters will not be available until April next year, and there will still be a shortage of roosters. Only next summer, when egg-laying hens begin to be eliminated, will the supply of chicken be more abundant. Tagawa is also preparing to keep 300 roosters to be supplied to premium members as a benefit during the Spring Festival.

The carrying capacity of the chicken farm has been saturated, and there is no possibility of expanding the scale of breeding. Tagawa has no idea of increasing the scale of broiler breeding for the time being.

Some of the chickens have also begun to lay eggs, and the eggs are small, only a little more than 40 grams. The price of chai eggs is nearly twice as high as that of the previous two types of eggs, and the price of first-laid eggs is higher, which still can't stop the enthusiasm of members to rush to buy. The egg production rate of firewood chickens is relatively low, only 70%, far lower than the 85% egg production rate of the other two kinds of chickens, and the daily egg production of 3,000 firewood chickens is only 2,000, which can not meet the members' * at all, and can only be served on a first-come, first-served basis.

The fish in the fish pond grow very quickly, the crucian carp has weighed three or two, and the carp has reached more than one and a half catties. It's just that the growth of soft-shelled turtles and black fish is not obvious, and they still look like juveniles. Tagawa is not in a hurry, it is estimated that before the freeze, you can start selling carp and crucian carp, and the shrimp is not too small, and it is estimated that it can be listed during the National Day. In the nineties, the production of shrimp was small and expensive, and this year this pond of shrimp should be very profitable.

Tian Chuan is a little unsure about the distribution method of fish and shrimp, and I don't know whether it is better to deliver it cold and fresh after slaughter, or to directly transport live fish to the capital, because fish and shrimp are different from meat, and the fresh taste is much better, but this brings trouble to the distribution.

Considering the special needs of his customers, he finally chose to find a way to satisfy them. His basic idea is to use oxygenation transportation to transport live fish and shrimp to the distribution center in the capital and then process them according to the customer's requirements. If the customer wants to slaughter and process, then it will be slaughtered and processed in the distribution center in Beijing, and then the chilling method similar to the rooster will be used to deliver the customer in the shortest possible time; if the customer needs fresh fish and shrimp, the distribution center will be delivered with PE bags with water and oxygenation to ensure that the fish and shrimp are fresh when they reach the customer. In order to facilitate transportation, the fish and shrimp will be packed separately to avoid unpacking at the base.

This method will increase the workload of the distribution center, extend the preparation time, and the difficulty of transportation will also increase, and the issue of distribution freight will be reconsidered, but this is a small matter, and the key is to ensure the unique selling point of fish and shrimp products. The selling point of fish and shrimp, like other products, is the healthy farming and distribution service, as well as the health farming records that can be checked. His batch of fish and shrimp did not adopt strict green food production technology, but only controlled the feed formula and medication. As for the control of water bodies in green aquaculture, he has not been able to do it for the time being. In fact, in the process of vegetable planting, his land can not meet the needs of green food production, but the process he adopts to plant off the soil avoids the impact of residual chemicals in the land on product quality, which he has clearly made in the promotion of the website.

After the flood, Tian Chuan asked Qi Ligang to plant a circle of dwarf shrub fruit trees around the planting base, including cherries, strawberries, dates, pomegranates, peaches, figs, hawthorns, etc., each of which is not in large quantities, which is also to use these spare land, enrich the varieties of the base, and at the same time squeeze the surplus value of the land. The area of the new greenhouse planting base is a little more than 30 acres, about a 40 meters * 50 meters square, the edge of the base is 180 meters long, in addition to the gate and other war parts, there are about 150 meters of fruit trees that can be planted. You can plant about 50 small shrub fruit trees and 20 large and medium-sized fruit trees, and these fruit trees can provide customers with some novel varieties when they are harvested, giving members some freshness and making them have some different expectations.

Moreover, after planting fruit trees, the scenery of the base has become much more beautiful. This made Tagawa very satisfied.

As a graduate of agronomy, Qi Ligang also put forward a lot of opinions and suggestions on the planting system of the base, and Tian Chuan asked him to communicate directly with Mr. Zhong, and some of his opinions were directly adopted by Mr. Zhong. He suggested that the base directly recruit two graduates of agronomy as the training of technical personnel of the base, and the personnel have not yet arrived at their posts.

After seeing the farm, Tagawa left the base and came to his cousin's orchard. It is now a branch of the base, and the fruit from the orchard and the melons and beans on the fence have become part of the online sale. Since pesticides have been used for many years, the land situation does not meet the requirements of green food, but this year pesticides, hormones and fertilizers are no longer used, which he has made clear in sales.

After deciding to accept this orchard as a base branch after the Spring Festival, Tagawa asked Qi Ligang to help his cousin establish a production process record system. At first, my cousin was very uncomfortable with this record system, he didn't understand why he had to make such detailed records when planting a fruit tree, but after seeing the records of Tagawa's base, he was forced to accept this kind of record, from strange to familiar, and slowly got used to it.

At the base of the old greenhouse, he also wanted to plant some fruit trees, but because the adjacent fields here are other people's fields, planting fruit trees in the field will have an impact on the neighbors' land, so he has no choice but to give up.

Due to the popularity of wild vegetables, he once thought of one or two sheds dedicated to growing wild vegetables, but he gave up on thinking about it. Wild vegetables are okay to try once in a while in a given season, but if they are grown in bulk and sold for a long time, it is estimated that customers will lose interest.

The grass planted in Nanwa was flooded and many people died. Now there is still a lot of stagnant water in the depression, and Tian Chuan asked his parents to put a lot of aquatic plants and duckweed in it, and now the aquatic plants have grown very densely, and the duckweed is about to cover the water surface. Every day, workers from the breeding base go there to catch aquatic weeds and duckweed, and transport them back to the base to feed the fish and chickens, and the dozens of geese in the base also like to eat these things very much, even more than ordinary grass or grain. Everyone thinks that geese eat fish, but in fact, geese are almost completely vegetarian and usually only eat grass. These aquatic weeds, combined with the surviving alfalfa around the depression, barely satisfy the appetites of chickens, geese and fish. It seems that we have to find another way to plant pasture, at least the dozens of acres of land in Nanwa cannot meet the requirements of use from the current situation.

Tian Chuan discussed with his father and decided to renovate the south depression, dig the lowest depression in the center deeper, and use the excavated earthwork to raise the surrounding land, and in the future, the pond in the center will be used to raise water weeds, and the heightened land will be used to grow pastures, which may barely meet the grass requirements of the base.
