On the periphery, more than 10,000 local armed militias carried out counter-shock reinforcements, and the positions of the two sides were staggered, which was very different from the fact that there were only 15,000 regular troops of the Vietnamese army scattered in the vast depth of the Cao Ping area, and there were no decent reinforcements and counter-attacks as soon as they were beaten and ran.

In this way, it is difficult to have any tricks in the battle of Tongdeng, and the comparison is the real strength of the two sides, to see whether it is offensive or defensive, to see who is not afraid of casualties, has a stronger will to fight, and can "survive the last 5 minutes".

The Hua'an border in front of Tongdeng is a prominent landform in the direction of Annan, which is more conducive to our army directly carrying out a frontal assault on Tongdeng. The weak point is that the two wings are long and narrow and protruding, and it is easy to be attacked by the enemy's left and right flanks.

Therefore, the 41st Army, with the 121st Division as the main attack, carried out a strong attack on the front of Tongdeng. At the same time, the 122nd and 123rd Divisions were used to assist on the left and right sides of the 121st Division to ensure the safety of the flanks in the direction of the main attack.

In view of the situation that the defensive front of the defenders of Tongdeng Annan was wider, the depth was smaller, and the strength was insufficient, the 41st Army concentrated three times the enemy's strength, as well as the absolute superiority of artillery, tanks, and aircraft, and used an echelon of battle formations to encircle the enemy at Tongdeng with two wings inside and outside after a frontal breakthrough, which was another frame of annihilation.

However, after the battle began, the left flank of the 41st Army was successfully put in place.
