Chapter 20: Run, Grey!
Heine heard him right, someone was indeed calling his name.
His roared body didn't fall to the ground, but was caught by a petite figure in a cloak.
It's Grey!
From the moment Heine left the room, Grey had been following him.
Because of his own thin sense of existence, and the isolation of Shinji's talisman, and possibly the interference of various techniques with different sources and different effects in the castle, Grey's tracking was not discovered.
The girl watched as the young knight walked into the vestibule, into the forest, and down the tunnel.
The obvious echo in the tunnel made her a little worried about whether she would be discovered, and when she was hesitating to follow up, the sound of a fight came from inside.
Remembering the requirements of the mission, Gray no longer hesitated, rushed into the tunnel as fast as she could, and caught Heine just in time for him to be knocked away.
A new intruder was discovered, and the monster's eyes lit up red.
Then, Grey heard a voice.
It's not a roar, it's hoarse, and it even sounds like the wind rubbing against it.
βAsk me, the name of the angel. β
"Yes, are you asking?" Grey's eyes widened involuntarily, and she felt as if she had discovered some great secret.
"Stupid, don't be in a daze. There was a tingling in his right wrist, a reminder from Yard.
"What should I do, Yard. β
"It's better to say something casually than not to answer. β
βAsk me, the name of the angel. The question rang out again.
"M-Mihael!" instinctively, Grey called out the angel's name on the invitation, which was also the number of the room where she lived.
If you can't answer the question, be stripped away. β
The darkness was stirring, like boiling slime.
"Sure enough, did you get it wrong?" said Gray, looking a little disappointed.
"It's strange to get it right. Yard scoffed, "If you don't want to be hung on the angel statue, run, it's coming." β
"Ahh β
As he spoke, the beast opened its mouth again.
As if awakened by the roar, the air surrounding Grey changed dramatically.
It's hot.
The girl felt as if she was in a furnace, and her whole body seemed to melt.
Whether it was magic or an ability, she didn't know, she just knew that she had to get out as fast as she could.
The huge magic power gathered under her feet at a speed several times faster than that of ordinary magicians, pushing the girl's body towards the ground.
That's what she's been practicing lately, the control technique that the magic unleashes. In the past, Gray would only use magic instinct to strengthen her body, which was an extremely inefficient and wasteful behavior. After receiving Shinji's teachings, Grey gradually mastered targeted release methods, such as simply increasing arm strength, or speeding up like now.
Once again, the air changes drastically, because of sheer speed!
It's not just the beast that has the speed to break through the limits of human dynamic vision, but also this petite and delicate girl.
Seconds, just seconds.
Grey had already rushed out of the tunnel with the chivalric Heine in her arms, back into the forest of the vestibule.
Because the speed of movement is faster than the speed of heat travel, Grey no longer feels hot at this point. She cautiously retreated to a relatively open place, her eyes fixed on the deep passageway.
The terrifying and powerful "beast" followed her to the surface, its red eyes also locked on Grey, and it took her for prey.
"Yade ......"
"Run, run to a crowded place. Now is not the time to fight, unless you don't care about this iron sheet. β
"Hmm. β
Grey let go of her clenched right hand and summoned all the magic power of her body to gather her feet, increasing her speed to the limit.
In the process of accelerating, she didn't forget to crush the talisman hanging around her neck and signal Shinji.
As Yard said, she may have more fighting power than the beast, but she now has to protect the unconscious Heine.
Grey, who was running at full speed, was very fast, and in the blink of an eye, she pierced through the forest and crashed headlong into the atrium.
The beast was a little faster than the load-bearing Grey, and the safe distance it had left had been offset by the chase, and it almost rushed into the castle with Grey's front and back feet, as if he would not give up until the prey was completely killed.
"Go to the second floor!
Because Grey spends all of her energy on escaping, Yard takes on the task of navigating.
Grey seemed to be used to this, and jumped up the moment Yard's voice sounded, jumping directly onto the observation deck on the second floor.
"It's right here!"
The girl who landed on the ground clenched her right hand and called.
"Yard!"
"Understood!"
The "sill" fixed to the arm was hidden in a special way.
The hazy light like a ghost fire changed into a new shape in the blink of an eye.
That's the shape of the harvest that everyone knows.
A gesture of reaping souls.
Grim Reaper.
As the phosphorescent light dissipated, Grey's magic concentrated on her arm, and she lowered Heine's swing and swung her massive scythe at the onrushing beast.
The scythe sliced deep into the beast's body, and the immense power that did not belong to the human overturned the quality difference between them, interrupting the beast's progress and striking it back to the ground.
The girl lowered her center of gravity, as if preparing to pursue.
Unexpectedly, Yard, who turned into a scythe, stopped her.
"Hurry up now, I'm not ready yet. β
"Ah, good. β
Grey hurriedly changed the direction of the magic, carrying the scythe in one hand and Heine in the other, and rushed into the deeper corridor, where the summoned magicians lived.
Although the magicians kept their "angel names" very secret, and they didn't know exactly which house they lived in, as long as the movement was loud enoughβ
The scythe cut through the air, and the wind pressure ravaged the decorations in the corridor, and the chandelier on the roof of the corridor made a series of piercing sounds.
"Please, anyone can come, take Mr. Heine away. β
"Ahh Forget it, leave him alone, if the next corner doesn't show up, we'll-"
"What about you?" a lazy voice rang in Grey's ears.
"You guy, since you're here, come out and help!"
"Don't worry, you keep running, run around the corner, I'll give him a hard blow there. β
"Okay, I'll believe you once, Grey, speed up!"
At Yard's urging, Grey bent her knees and rounded the corner at an almost ninety-degree right angle.
The monster that uses the wall catapult method to maneuver in a three-dimensional way stomps on the ceiling, and its claws, which are harder than diamonds, go straight into Grey's back.
At that moment, it suddenly had an extra shoe in front of its eyes.
