Chapter 405 Data Center Completed
Just when Radiance Film and Television was rushing to catch up with the post-production of "The Girl We Chased Together in Those Years" and the global simultaneous release, the construction of the first data center of Korn Glory Group was finally completed.
Since the foundation stone of Guanghui Group's data center in the imperial capital was laid in the middle of last year, after a year of construction and an investment of more than 100 million yuan, it will finally be put into use.
Initially, this data center was built by the school intranet and Guanghui Investment, but in consideration of future business coordination, this data center will be planned to be managed by the company Guanghui Data Center, and the investment in the school intranet will also be transferred to the shares of Guanghui Data Center.
The construction of a data center is a capital and technology-intensive project. With the current profitability of the school intranet, it will inevitably be unable to support the construction boom of the Guanghui data center, and the shares of the Guanghui data center held by the school intranet will inevitably be continuously diluted.
According to Jiang Hui, the construction of the first data center will be completed at the same time, and the construction of the new data center will also be started at the same time.
For a long time, Tianchao data center services have been mainly provided by basic telecom operators and network-neutral data center service providers. In terms of market size, basic telecom operators have always accounted for a large proportion of China's data center service market, accounting for about two-thirds of the entire market, due to their control over network resources.
However, for basic telecom operators, data center services are not their core business, and business revenue accounts for only 1%-3% of the overall total revenue, and data center services are mainly used to support their core business - network broadband services. In addition, in order to maintain their independent network coverage, different telecom operators do not do a good job of data handover in the areas where they receive each other. Not only that, but inter-provincial connections to the same network can be slow, as telecom operators in various regions deliberately reserve limited network bandwidth resources to meet local customer needs. In addition, the data centers of basic telecom operators usually only provide their own network interfaces, and the network connectivity of customers is also limited by their network coverage.
Network-neutral data center service providers provide data center services to customers by building their own data centers or renting data centers from basic telecom operators. Compared with the data centers of basic telecom operators, network-neutral data center service providers are not limited to the network and province boundaries of a single telecom operator, and can provide balanced and fast network connectivity.
However, due to the high requirements for technology, capital, and space for self-built data centers, many domestic data center service providers provide customers with data center services by renting all or part of the data centers of basic telecom operators.
In general, the future trend is that the gap between network-neutral data center service providers and basic telecom operators will gradually narrow, and the industry status will be improved, and the construction of Guanghui data center will be greatly accelerated.
According to the data center construction plan reported by Flash Rain to Jiang Hui, several ultra-large data centers and a number of small and medium-sized data centers will be built in the future.
Hyperscale data centers focus on factors such as climate, environment, and energy supply, especially for applications with low factual requirements such as disaster recovery, and give priority to the construction of first-class areas with cold climate and sufficient energy, and can also be built in second-class areas with suitable climate and sufficient energy. This is mainly prepared for the future era of big data, which can be used for own use or rented out resources.
Small and medium-sized data centers focus on market demand, energy supply and other factors. Encourage small and medium-sized data centers, especially those that are locally oriented and focus on real-time applications, to be flexibly deployed according to market demand in areas close to user locations and convenient access to energy.
In Jiang Hui's view, the fundamental factors that determine the healthy development of data centers are forward-looking investment estimates, reasonable data center design, and stable and reliable data center operation and maintenance, which are interdependent. The worst thing for Jiang Hui is forward-looking investment estimates, and the rest has to rely on technical personnel to solve them.
"Mr. Jiang, do you want to hold a ceremony for the investment in the data center?" asked Shanyu.
"Don't do it, we did such a big battle when the foundation was laid, and now that it's been built, if we build another one, it doesn't make much sense, we can just run it well," Jiang Hui said.
"Okay, then I'll lead the staff to simply celebrate inside the data center," said Shanyu.
"Okay. In addition, as you mentioned in your report, in the future, the company plans to build six ultra-large data centers in Lingnan Province, around Shanghai, Beihu Province, Sichuan Province, Northeast and Northwest China, and at the same time build a number of small and medium-sized data centers in major cities with developed economies.
Considering the demand for data use and the future rise in land prices, Jiang Hui feels that it is necessary to acquire land in Shanghai and Shenzhen to build super-large data centers, but the headache is that these two cities are large electricity consumers, and I don't know if the electricity consumption of data centers can be met during the peak summer electricity consumption period.
"We understand that we are going to give priority to the construction plan of Shenzhen, and we communicated with them in the early stage, and they are more cooperative with us in terms of land and energy supply," said Shanyu.
In 2005, although the economy of Shenzhen was relatively bullish, it was still incomparable with ten years later, so the investment in the construction of Guanghui Data Center was still very positive.
"Yes, you have to take the land down as soon as possible, I estimate that the price of the land will gradually rise, so even if you take it down and leave it for a year and a half, it is better than taking it later," Jiang Hui said.
The real estate market of the Celestial Empire has been rising in the past two years, although from the perspective of more than ten years later, how to rise now is still the price of cabbage, but after all, it is rising, it is better to spend less money or spend less, after all, although the valuation of the Radiance Group is very high, but the real cash is not much, and it basically depends on the Radiance Game.
"Okay, if that's the case, then I think you can take down the land first according to the plan, anyway, many places don't require a one-time payment for the purchase of land, and the general requirement is to start construction within one or even two years after buying the land. Not to mention that we do plan to start construction in the next two years, even if we want to be a little later, we can achieve our goal by extending the construction period slowly, and at the same time avoid the government's requirements for the construction time," said Shanyu.
"I think your plan is feasible, there is no money in the account of Guanghui Data Center at present, I will ask the group to inject 500 million yuan into you as start-up capital next week, and continue to inject more than 500 million yuan every month in the future until we meet the needs of data center construction," Jiang Hui said.
As an enterprise with the Internet as its core, the importance of data centers cannot be overstated.
