Chapter Seventy-Eight: Give It a Try

"What advice?" asked Matthew first.
He only heard Tom West and Kate Jeffrey at noon, and subconsciously wondered if these two were ready to deal with him.
"yes, James. Another actor asked aloud, "What advice is it that makes you feel dead?" ā
James McAvoy looked angry and exaggerated, and said, "Tom West thinks we guys are too comfortable. ā
"Too comfortable?" interrupted Michael Cullitz, "I'm going to have my bones falling apart this afternoon!"
"Don't interject, let James finish. Michael Fassbinder reminded.
Michael Cullitz kept his mouth shut, and James McAvoy continued, "The bastard said that the training was not working and that we had to increase the intensity, and that we had to move out of the hotel, come to the airport and live in those old barracks dormitories, give us only canned food at every meal, practice crawling in muddy water, and even sleep on cold, muddy ground......"
Hearing James McAvoy's words, many people's faces changed, this is London in November, if you do this, you will really die!
Before James McAvoy finished speaking, "Not counting the wind and sleeping in the open, he also had to increase the weight of the heavy march from thirty to forty pounds, and the distance from three miles to five miles! Also, he said that in order for us to be able to think from the point of view of the soldiers, for the last ten days we were to be dragged to stay near the pyrotechnic test site where the explosion test was being conducted, and we could only sleep for three hours a day......
After saying this, the locker room was silent for an instant, and even Matthew felt a chill on his back.
He put on a thread shirt and asked James McAvoy, "Does Gary Gozman agree?"
"That's the worst part. "James McAvoy is very depressed," Gary Gozman thinks he has a point, asking him to develop a new training plan. ā

A loud voice scolded, and then more people scolded.
Matthew leaned against the closet, and suddenly it occurred to him that it might have something to do with him.
However, on second thought, Tom West couldn't have made such a fucking training plan for him alone, right?
Maybe he's really a serious and responsible military instructor, just for the sake of the filming of the TV series.
But in the November weather in the UK, eating canned food, practicing crawling in muddy water, and even sleeping on cold, muddy ground shivers make you shiver just thinking about it.
"It's inhuman...... Inhumanity......" Matthew saw the excitement of the crowd and muttered deliberately, "It's simply inhuman!"
These days, marching, platoon, weight-bearing, push-up training is getting bigger and bigger, but none of the weapons and tactical training that the actors are most interested in have been carried out, and it is impossible to say that twenty-five people have no problem with Tom West.
In fact, it is not difficult to see from the attitudes of Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Michael Cullitz and others that whether it is an actor from North America or a local actor in the United Kingdom, just like the soldiers of Company E in the first episode of the script do not like Captain Sauber, they do not want to see Tom West.
This is the inevitable result of almost every military instructor who is too harsh.
In the locker room, there was another scolding voice from Tom West.
"Be quiet, be quiet!" Matthew raised his hand and made a downward motion, "Next door is Tom West's locker room, and it's a problem to hear it." ā
James McAvoy waved his hand, "Don't worry! When I came in, I saw him go out, with Kate Jeffrey, that crazy woman, and the two of them probably hooked up." ā
The two often leave the airport together when they get off work, and the people in the crew also know their relationship.
However, only Matthew has discovered that the two seem to have special habits and often run to the warehouse for trysts.
Another British actor seems to be very prejudiced about the two men, "Bless the dog man and woman to go out and crash!"
"I like it. ā
Everyone in the dressing room knew that Matthew had a conflict with Kate Jeffrey, and Matthew didn't hide it, "It's best that the Land Rover is scrapped too." ā
He put on a serious expression, "Brothers, let's be mentally prepared. ā
Michael Fassbender asked, "What mental preparation?"
"Suffering. Matthew shrugged his shoulders and spread his hands again, "Tom West is our instructor, what can we do?" gritted his teeth and persevered, and it was over quickly. ā
James McAvoy shook his head when he heard this, "Not everyone is as good as you. ā
Matthew also shook his head, "What can I do then, he's an instructor." ā
Michael Fassbender suddenly said, "It would be nice if he quit his job." ā
Someone chimed in, "It's good for the crew to replace him, I don't want to get muddy water, especially in this weather." ā
"Let me warn you. "Matthew seems to have them in mind," said Tom West, a military instructor specially hired by the crew. ā
"Cut. Michael Kulitz said disdainfully, "People like him have a lot of people in the army." ā
"Hmm!" Michael Fassbender began, "there are so many officers who retire from the military every year, and Tom West doesn't have a prominent Hollywood experience, so to be able to be this instructor, I think there must be a Kate Jeffrey relationship." ā
He's young, "If Tom West really has the training plan James is talking about, we've got to figure out something. ā
James McAvoy echoed his words, "I was the first to kill him by eating canned food and sleeping on the muddy floor every day!"
"Calm down, isn't the new plan still coming out yet?" Matthew stepped up again, "Even if it comes out, we'll be over for a few weeks." ā
Many people cast disdainful looks, in their impression, Matthew seems to be a more tolerant person, the crazy woman at the entrance can endure such arrogance, this little bit of training is nothing to him.
James McAvoy shook his head at Matthew again, "You, you're so bearable. ā
Michael Fassbender stood up and patted Matthew on the shoulder, "In this kind of weather, if you don't get it right, you will get sick, and the crew will start filming soon, in case you get pneumonia or something, will the crew wait for us?"
Matthew was speechless, and found that he didn't have to do much at all, these young and vigorous guys didn't like people like Tom West at all.
Come to think of it, these people are all actors, they all have star dreams, they don't have the idea of a soldier at all, and most of them haven't suffered from this kind of physical fatigue, so it's strange that people practice as soldiers, and their emotions are high.
The masochists in this world are a minority of the few.
After complaining about Tom West, the actors left the locker room one after another, and Matthew walked back to the hotel with Michael Cullitz and Ain Bailey, and when they came to the temporary exit of the airport, Matthew deliberately touched his pocket.
"Hell!" he frowned, "I forgot to get my phone in the closet, I'll go back and get it." ā
Michael Cullitz stopped, "We're waiting for you?"
Matthew waved his hand, "You guys go back first, wait for me in the hotel restaurant." ā
After saying that, he returned to the locker room, took the mobile phone he had deliberately left behind from the closet, and after coming out, he came to the door of Tom West's locker room next door, took out the rubber gloves he had prepared before and put them on, took a closer look, and saw that there was no abnormality, opened the door and walked in.
Since they are all men's locker rooms, the same as those used by actors, Tom West's locker rooms are not locked.
Matthew opened a few cabinets and looked at them, but they didn't mess with the contents of them, and when he finally opened a wardrobe, he found a large box of condoms inside, and looked at the production date on the box, which must have been purchased recently.
This locker room has been used only by Tom West lately, and Matthew guesses that the condoms are 100 percent his.
He looked at the position and orientation of the box, took out the box of condoms, opened it and looked at it, and there were three missing inside, exactly the same number of times Tom West and Kate Jeffrey had been to the warehouse.
Looking at this box of condoms, Matthew suddenly thought of the news he had watched on his smartphone and thought he could give it a try.
If he succeeds, the person concerned must be very sour, and if he fails, he will not have any loss.
Having made up his mind, he put the box of condoms back in the cabinet as it was, took a general look at the rest of the locker room, found no other useful things, cautiously walked out of the locker room, made sure that there would be no traces, took off the rubber gloves and stuffed them into the coat pocket, and left the dormitory building where the locker room was located with his mobile phone.
Back at the hotel for dinner, Matthew called a taxi, walked around the city of London, bought a few boxes of condoms from a large supermarket that were exactly the same as Tom West's, and picked the exact same production date, went back and studied it carefully, and determined that the idea of being in the locker room was feasible.
In the following days, in addition to completing the training with quality and quantity, he continued to observe Kate Jeffrey and Tom West, and found that these two people would use the noon time to go to the warehouse every two days, which was very regular.
On the other hand, what James McAvoy said became a reality, including Matthew, the more than 20 actors who participated in the training camp, at the request of the crew and Gary Gozman, all moved into the old barracks of the training base, fortunately there was no need to make bunks for the time being, and every two actors lived in a dormitory.
Since Ain Bailey had greeted Michael Cullitz in advance, Matthew had no choice but to choose to live in a dorm room with Michael Fassbender.
The accommodation conditions of these old barracks are far inferior to hotels, coupled with the terrible weather in the UK, wet and cold, Tom West's training is still increasing, and the crew's meals are gradually turning into army cans, which looks good and doesn't taste very good.
A new training program is also underway, in Tom West's words, in order to create a realistic shooting effect, it requires 100% dedication from the actors, so the crew also appropriately remodeled the training venue, right next to the actors' queue to cooperate with the training ground, and in the newly dug several holes, water began to be injected.
Although this part of the training has not yet been carried out, and the crew has specially dispatched a medical security team to be on standby at all times, the actors are still resentful, and they are becoming more and more dissatisfied with Tom West, the initiator.
