Chapter 241: Discussing countermeasures
Soon, the first week after Christmas was over, and it was Saturday.
In the Gryffindor common room, Hermione was at a wooden table covered with a scarlet tablecloth, bracing her cheeks and flipping through a book whose contents she didn't know.
"Hermione, I inquired, the second project has to do with water, and we might have to go to the Black Lagoon to find something. Harry burst into the common room like a gust of wind and ran up to Hermione, his hands slapping on the table with a soft thud.
"Where did you get this news, Harry?" Hermione looked up at the boy in front of her, her long brown hair swaying with it. The dance was over, and her hair naturally returned to its usual unkempt state.
It took too much shampoo to maintain that long smooth hair, and it was too much trouble, and Hermione didn't have the time to spend it on things that weren't necessary, she was used to keeping her old look like she was.
"I can't tell you, but the message should be true. Harry's eyes were a little evasive, and he glanced inadvertently at the burning fireplace beside him, as if he was a little weak.
"Oh, okay. Hermione stared at Harry suspiciously, but she didn't continue to ask about it, after all, this was cheating, and the person who leaked the news to Harry certainly didn't want to be known to everyone, and it was understandable that Harry chose to keep it a secret
"What then, Harry, do you know how to swim?" Hermione asked.
"The deepest body of water I've ever touched is probably in the bath," said Harry, "and the Dursleys will be 'tolerant' of allowing me to take a bath in the bathtub during the holidays, and I might be able to swim a few times back and forth in it." β
"The normal way is that we could have given up right away, Harry, it's too late for you to learn to swim. Hermione immediately made a wise analysis, "You can't swim, it doesn't matter, wizards naturally have a wizard's perspective to solve problems, this may be where the Goblet of Fire wants to test you, if you really rely on swimming skills to get through this, maybe it will lower the judge's evaluation of you." β
"How about trying scuba, Harry," a male voice interjected into their conversation.
It was Ron, who stood by and watched them talk for a while, then moved a stool and sat down.
"Ron?" Hermione's brow furrowed as she looked at him, she hadn't spoken to him since the dance partner's dispute.
"I don't want to quarrel with you. "Looking at Hermione's look of disgust, he said in a vicious voice, 'I just want to help Harry. β
"Okay, that's exactly what I thought. Naturally, Hermione wouldn't take the initiative to argue with him.
"Scuba?" Harry looked surprised, "That's a good idea. But he was confused and said, "What are we going to do? Take it to the playing field, as if we already know what to do." β
"Aren't you going to use the Flying Charm again? go to a Muggle town and buy a device, then put it in the castle and take it out during the game, Sirius will be happy to help you, you could say it's a gift from Sirius, and it happens to be used here." As long as we practice a little bit beforehand, the game can come in handy. Ron said triumphantly.
"It's a good choice, Harry, what do you think of this approach?" Hermione nodded in agreement, but still reserved some opinions.
"Scuba can be a bit bulky and not optimal. Hermione shook her head and said, "If you want to achieve better results, I think Transfiguration is a good choice, in fact, most of the problems in a wizard's life can be solved with Transfiguration." β
At this, Hermione sighed, "However, Harry, your Transfiguration class doesn't seem to be very good, maybe good, but not excellent. Moreover, it is very difficult for a fourth-grader to transform himself. β
Harry's face flushed slightly.
"Well, I'll go to the library right now to check if there's any spell that suits, and you guys should hurry up and find Sirius, it's always good to get a little more prepared, right?" With that, Hermione got up again and walked towards the door of the Gryffindor common room.
Harry and Ron soon found Sirius in Hagrid's old cabin and sought his support, and he seemed very happy and began to prepare.
Eventually, the three of them met up again in the library, and with Sirius's help, Professor McGonagall even gave them a note to allow them to check out the forbidden section, and they even asked for help from the librarian, who looked like a vulture, who knew the library wellβhowever, they couldn't find a way to keep Harry alive to tell his story after an hour underwater.
Hermione suggested that they could go to the possible playing field first, and maybe find some other way to deal with it.
Then, as they passed Demstrand's large ship moored on the lake, they saw Victor Krum walking from the cabin to the deck, wearing only a pair of swimming trunks. He was very thin, but he looked quite strong, and I saw him climb to the side of the ship with agility, stretch out his arms, and plunge into the water.
"He's crazy!" Harry said as he watched Krum's jet-black head float in the middle of the lake, "It's January, and it's going to be cold!"
"He's come from a much colder place than here. Hermione said, "I think it's pretty warm for him." β
"Yes, but there's a giant squid in the lake. Ron said, but there was no worry in his tone β he seemed to want something to happen. Hermione noticed his tone and frowned.
"He's really good, you know. Hermione said, "He's Durmstrong, but not at all what you think. He told me he preferred us here. β
Ron was silent, not intending to dwell on the issue.
Hermione said to herself, "This reminds me, Harry, that in addition to thinking about how to keep breathing in the water, we also have to find a way to keep out the cold, otherwise the cold water will definitely affect your condition." β
She looked at the cold, iron-gray lake, its dark and cold bottom as far as the moon, and her mind seemed to sink into the bottom of the lake.
"What would he do in such a situation?" Hermione couldn't help but think of a blonde boy in her heart.
