Chapter 237: The Dance Party (Part II)
Fleur Delacour and Roger Davies, a Ravenclaw schoolboy and a member of their Quidditch team, stood closest to the door, and he knew that he was still dizzy, like he had not recovered from being hit by a pie falling from the sky.
He couldn't seem to believe that he was so lucky, he had won the favor of Lady Luck, and he could not take his eyes off Fleur as a dance partner.
Fleur, on the other hand, showed a cold expression throughout the whole process, and walked into the auditorium blankly, as if the boy next to her was a soulless puppet.
"Hermien, you're so beautiful today!" Krum praised the girl in front of him from the bottom of his heart, and at the same time marveled at his own eyes, he didn't expect that the girl he had invited would behave so charmingly today, and the original fluffy and messy brown hair had become soft and shiny, and was pulled into an elegant bun at the back of his head. She wore a robe made of flowing light purple blue fabric, and somehow her temperament was different—perhaps just because she had removed the twenty-odd thick books she usually carried on her body.
"Thank you. Hermione politely replied to Krum's compliment.
The other Gryffindor students looked at the girl in front of them in shock.
"Hermione, you're hiding so much. Fred looked at the girl in front of him in amazement.
"I probably just happened to find a shampoo that worked for me. Hermione said with some embarrassment.
"Weasley, get in, don't bother!" Professor McGonagall's voice came from within.
"Looks like I've got to go, oh, I'm looking forward to Ron's look when he sees you. Fred said with a wicked smile on his face, and followed George into the house.
Once everyone was seated in the Great Hall, Professor McGonagall called the Warriors and their dance partners to line up in twos and follow her inside. They rushed in and walked towards a large round table at the front of the auditorium where the referees were seated, and the people in the auditorium applauded enthusiastically.
The walls of the auditorium were covered in glittering silver frost, and the ceiling was a starry night sky, with hundreds of mistletoe sprigs and wreaths of ivy. The four academy tables were gone, replaced by a hundred small tables lit with lanterns, each with a dozen or so people seated next to it.
Ron sat at a small table, and when he saw Hermione approaching, his mouth immediately opened wide, and then he remained in such a stiff position as if controlled by a petrification charm.
It took the Weasley brothers a long time to restrain themselves from laughing, and it was so amusing to look at their brother's expression.
After a while, Ron cursed in a low voice, "Look, our classmates have never seen her dressed up in so many years, and now when that Quidditch star comes, her messy hair is straightened!"
"Looks like everyone is here. Dumbledore at the guest of honour said with a smile on his face, looking very energetic, while Mr. Karkaroff, the headmaster of Durmstran, was very pale and looked a little weak, and his eyes showed fear from time to time, and his face became even darker when he saw Krum and Hermione standing together.
Madame Maxim, on the other hand, frowned, staring at Malfoy and Luna in front of her with some scrutiny, she wanted to see which girl Malfoy had rejected her beloved apprentice for.
Ludo Bagman sat further along, clapping his palms enthusiastically, and as you can guess, he made a lot of money in the first project.
It is worth mentioning that Mr. Crouch did not show up, and sitting next to him was the Weasley family's Posey, who was said to have taken Mr. Crouch's place because of his ill health.
There was no food on the glittering plates, but everyone had a small menu in front of them, but there was no waiter in charge of serving, and Dumbledore was quick to show the proper way to use it.
"Pork chops. Dumbledore said clearly after carefully reading the menu.
The pork chops appeared immediately. The other people at the table suddenly realized and followed suit, ordering their favorite food on their plates.
"Gordigan tea!" Luna whispered to the plate without even looking at the menu, and a steaming cup of green tea appeared in front of her.
"Oh, I thought I could order it all. Luna sighed in disappointment, the tea in front of her didn't satisfy her appetite at all.
"Your dad did it himself, how could the house-elves here be able to meet your requirements?" Malfoy raised his eyebrows a little laughing, but said on his face, "Try something else, their craftsmanship is not bad." ”
"Steamed scimitar-horned snorkel!" Luna said in a daze, as if she hadn't heard Malfoy's advice.
"Well, it seems to be true. Luna put her hands on her cheeks and looked at the empty plates, and truly believed that she couldn't order food outside the menu.
The first tea had a similar substitute, and the food ordered the second time was completely beyond the cognition of the house elves, so it didn't appear at all.
After recognizing the reality, Luna ordered a few ordinary foods at random, and Malfoy also ordered some, the students in the snow consumed physical energy, and his consumption of brain power in the library was not an easy errand, and he also needed to replenish some energy.
Fleur and her boyfriend seemed to be talking happily, but when her eyes swept over Malfoy and Luna's table, she saw that the boy had no intention of looking at her, and immediately fell silent, and the temperature of the air around her suddenly cooled. The poor Ravenclaw boy thought he had done something wrong, and stammered in the hope of remedy, and looked miserable, as if he had fallen from heaven to hell.
"Wait, you don't mind teaching me to dance, do you? I don't. Luna swallowed a piece of buttery bread, letting the grease stain remain on the corner of her mouth, and asked Malfoy.
"Actually, I don't know much either. Malfoy laughed and said that he was not interested in it except when he was a child, when Lucius had to hire a few etiquette teachers for him, and he was not good at it.
When everything was finished, Dumbledore stood up and told his classmates to stand up as well. Then, with a wave of his wand, he whizzed some of the tables to the wall, leaving an open space in between. He conjured up a high stage, affixed to the base of the right wall, on which lay a set of drums, guitars, a lute, a cello, and organs.
"Are you going to try it?" Malfoy got up, then bowed slightly, and held out one hand to Luna in invitation, the other pointing flat at the temporarily empty dance floor.
