Chapter 120: Fuxi Rock (2)
Chapter 120 Fu Xiyan (2)
After visiting the Big Buddha, I returned to Mida Temple, and Master Extraordinary gave a lecture. He said:
Buddhas are enlightened beings, and sentient beings are unenlightened Buddhas. All beings are equal, and so are Buddhas. When I was visiting just now, some friends asked me, which one has a higher status, Shakyamuni Buddha or Amitabha Buddha? Because the two of them belong to the highest Buddhas of the two different worlds.
The world is divided into pure land and turbid land, and the world we live in is the turbid land world, that is, the world where Shakyamuni Buddha is located, and Amitabha Buddha is in the pure land world. Amitabha Buddha is a present Buddha called Elysium who is far away from our world, that is, Amitabha Buddha is now in that world. Amitabha Buddha became a Buddha much earlier than Shakyamuni Buddha, ten eons ago. According to the Samadhi Sutra of the Boat, Amitabha Buddha has 32 phases, which are bright and upright. According to the Sutra of Amitayus, the body of the Buddha Amitayus (i.e., Amitabha Buddha) is like the color of 100 billion nights of Yama Fu Sandalwood, and his height is 60 trillion and the sand of the Ganges River is ten years. The white millimeter between the eyebrows is turned to the right, and the size of the millimeter phase is like five times the height and breadth of Mount Meru, and its eyes are white and distinct, and the size of the eyes is like four times the width of the sea. His body has 84,000 appearances, 84,000 good in each phase, and 84,000 light in 11,000 good appearances, illuminating the ten worlds and absorbing all beings who chant Buddhas. Amitabha Buddha is regarded as the Buddha of Amitayus and Amitayus, if you pray for wisdom, you take refuge in Buddha Amitayus, if you pray for longevity and happiness, you take refuge in Buddha Amitayus, then simply the two of them are Buddhas of two different worlds!
Why don't the Buddhist disciples in my world recite the name of the Buddha of Nan Wu Shakyamuni Buddha, but the name of the Buddha of another world, the problem is that the world of Amitabha Buddha is the Pure Land, and the grand wish made by Amitabha Buddha when he became a Buddha is the most ambitious, in other words, it is the most beneficial to all sentient beings, of course, what grand wish Amitabha Buddha made, everyone who is interested can understand! By the way, in our world, the Bodhisattva Guanyin and the Great Trend Bodhisattva are the heads of all the bodhisattvas in Amitabha's blissful world, and they are the left and right assistants of Amitabha Buddha, assisting Amitabha, and together with Amitabha, they are called the Three Sages of the West.
Amitabha Buddha is the head of the Western Elysium, the present Buddha, and Shakyamuni Buddha is also the present Buddha, but it is the present Buddha of our samsara world. Maitreya Buddha is now Maitreya Bodhisattva, living in the inner courtyard of Doushuai, the next Buddha in the world of Suva, and belongs to the future Buddha.
These are all engaged in physicality, if in terms of ontology, then "the Buddhas of the ten directions and the three worlds, together with one dharmakaya". The Great Ri Nyorai, Shakyamuni Buddha, Amitabha Buddha, and Maitreya Buddha are all one, and they all manifest various different images according to fate for the convenience of sentient beings.
Someone asked, "Master, when we read books and watch television, we find that some of them are called Buddhas, some are called Bodhisattvas, and some are called Arhats, which means that the situation in the Buddha realm and the ordinary world is the same, and there are different positions, right?"
Yifan said:
We say that Buddhas and sentient beings are equal, but the cultivation of Buddhism is divided into levels, and there are also different levels. A bodhisattva is a Buddha or sentient being who is still in the process of being realized, enlightened, and still in practice. That is to say, in addition to himself, he can also cross other sentient beings. For example, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Manjushri Bodhisattva, Fuxian Bodhisattva, and Jizo Bodhisattva.
The arhat was only self-realised, and did not realize him. That is, he can only cross himself, but not others.
Those who have not yet realized in the high school of cultivation are the sentient beings who are waiting for the Buddha to cross.
Yusi said: "May I ask the master, what does it mean to have no Amitabha Buddha in the south, and how to practice to become a Buddha?"
Yifan Dao: "The low standard of cultivation is 'self-cultivation', that is, starting from oneself, cutting off evil and cultivating good, abiding by discipline and law, being indifferent to fame and fortune, accumulating merits and virtues, purifying and letting go, and following the fate (dependent origination, dependent gathering, fate dispersing, and fate extinction, 'all laws arise from the cause, and also perish from the cause') and do not climb." In addition to practicing oneself to become an enlightened person, one should also help others become enlightened beings, make good connections, purify sentient beings, promote the Dharma, and give charity (almsgiving, which means 'giving'. As the saying goes, 'giving' is a kind of causal relationship, there is a give-and-give-and-take, and you must first be sincere for others before you can get others for yourself). ”
Yusi said: "How can I cultivate to 'save myself' and 'save others'?"
Yifan said: "We must do 'see through, let go, let go, see through'." What does it mean to see through? To see through is to dilute the 'impermanence' of the world's circumstances (there is no eternal thing, everything is in a rapidly changing state, 'like a dream bubble, like dew and like electricity'), 'false existence' (the 'being' and 'being' manifested by the union and separation of causes), and understand the law of illusory change -- the permanence in impermanence. Neither indulge in 'being' nor attachment to 'nothing' (everything comes into being out of nothing, something comes into being, a vacuum is not empty, and something returns to nothing). There is no 'color' (color refers to matter, existence) but not 'emptiness' (non-existence, non-existence), although 'emptiness' but there is 'color'. Let go, we must understand that the Buddhists often say, 'everything will not go, only karma will take with you', and then raise to the state of 'everything will not go, and cultivation will also leave the body'. ”
Yusi said: "What does it mean that 'everything will not go, and the cultivation will also leave'?"
Yifan said: "'Everything will not go' refers to the fact that people come and go away when they are reincarnated, they don't know where they come from, they don't know where they are going, what they can do in their lives, what they get in a lifetime, whether they are in power or rich enough to rival the country, everything cannot be taken away."
The original meaning of "karma" refers to the movement of a person's body, mouth, and mind and the actions they form. A person's body, mouth, and mind all have mechanical inertia, i.e., a residual potential force that can influence the subsequent movement (which will incur and form a result), that is, 'karma'.
'Karma' means that even if a person's physical body is gone, the spiritual 'karma' is preserved in the world, and it has residual power and effects, influencing future generations.
Although the present thing has passed, its force is not finished, and there is still a latent result (good and bad) that connects the past, present, and future, and this is the role of 'karma'. ”
Dong Ge said: "What kind of person can have the power to influence future generations?"
"In the long river of history, the number of people who can live for a hundred years is really less than one millionth of the total population." Only those rulers and politicians who have made outstanding contributions in the course of history, and scholars of science and technology and humanities who have written and circulated to the world, can have greater 'karma' to influence future generations. Writings have 'karma', and the Internet has 'karma', but it cannot last forever. When we look at what our ancestors did before the Ice Age, we know almost nothing, and we can't comprehend their 'karma', which can only be carried with us in stages and cannot be carried with us forever. Only the karma of the universe and nature is eternal! The karma of human beings seems so small that 'as soon as a person leaves, the tea will be cold'. ”
