Chapter 40: The Wind and Snow
"Wake up, wake up. Bai opened his eyes in a daze, and in front of him was the falling wind and snow, and his mother with a haggard face.
"Mom, are you okay, Mom, Bai is so scared!" Thinking back to everything that had just happened, Bai couldn't help crying in his mother's arms. But his mother did not comfort him, and after hugging him tightly, he was pulled away from his mother's arms.
"Mom?" Shiro looked at his mom in alarm.
The woman smiled reluctantly, her smile full of worry about the dialogue.
"White, it's not over yet. Flee, flee far away. Sorry, Mom didn't have time to talk to you too much. You have to live well. In front of Shiro, my mother's face gradually faded to the point of transparency.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Mom can't be with you all the time. Shiro should take good care of himself. "The woman's body has completely turned into ice crystals.
It was only when Bai realized something, and suddenly pounced on the woman and hugged her tightly. He cried, "Mommy don't leave me, don't, please mom." β
"Okay Bai, you have to be strong, see the direction of your mother's finger, and immediately run in that direction. Okay... Good γ»γ»γ»γ»γ» live... One, set, to, live, live, down, go. β
The woman had completely reduced to an ice sculpture, crystal clear, and her fingers pointed in one direction in the snow.
Shiro felt cold because the mother he was holding had turned into an ice sculpture.
Bai was already shivering with cold, his lips were blue, but he was reluctant to let go.
"Mom, Bai will listen, Bai will definitely liveγ»γ»γ»γ»γ»" Bai cried silently. He finally let go of his mother, and took a step and ran in the direction her mother pointed out.
How far can a child run in a blizzard? Shiro accidentally stepped on a deep place in the snow, and his whole foot sank in, and he couldn't pull it out in the deep snow. Bai struggled, but fell deeper and deeper.
Bai whined, he cried to his father and mother, but the only thing that responded to him was the cold wind and snow, and the whining wind. Bai was tired, and he couldn't hold on a little anymore.
Just then he heard the crisp sound of bells and the sound of horse-drawn carts. Shiro barely opened his eyes, and most of his body was submerged in deep snow.
"Help, help!" Bai's voice shouted, at first it was small, like the voice was frozen, and then it gradually became louder. The snow drifted into his throat, and he couldn't help but cough twice.
The driver was expecting to get home early in the cold snow, and he heard the child's cry for help. Stopping the car, he looked around and finally found the half-buried child.
"Wait, Uncle Kid is coming to your rescue right away. The man who was driving the car shouted. He slipped through the deep snow and finally came to Shiro.
When he got closer, the man realized that Shiro was unconscious. The man grabbed Bai's upper body and pulled it out hard, but he couldn't pull it out. He took off his hat and put it on Shiro's head, giving Bai a little warmth.
"Wait, wait, Uncle will get you out right away. The man quickly brushed the snow away with his hands, and after almost a little bit of it, he finally pulled out the white.
Picking up Bai, the man unbuttoned his placket again, and the big cotton clothes wrapped Bai's body, and under the warmth, Bai's body recovered its temperature.
Foot deep and shallow back to his cart, the man waved his whip, and there was a crisp sound in the air, and the horse hurried away and galloped in one direction.
"Hold on a little longer, little one. In the wind and snow, the man lowered his head and said to the child in his arms.
The car sped through the wind and snow and soon arrived home, and the man got out of the car, his feet crunching on the snow. He knocked on his door.
"Wife, I'm back. β
The door opened, and behind it was an ordinary woman, dressed in a thick trench coat, with her hair curly and simply tied up with a floral headband. She looked at her husband, who had returned from hard work, and showed a warm smile.
"Come back, come in and I'll get you a bowl of hot noodle soup. Then she froze, and a cute little head was peeking out of the man's bulging clothes.
She was stunned for about five seconds, and then cried out with a crying voice, "You have no conscience, you brought the child back with another woman outside." β
"Wife, am I that kind of person? I picked up this kid in the snowstorm. The man said as he walked through the door.
"Who knows if it's a reason you made up?" the woman laughed, but she had already believed the man's words.
"Look at my face, did you give birth to such a beautiful child? The man pointed to his face and smiled, and sent Shiro to the back room.
"That's right. The woman followed the house.
The man carefully put Shiro on the bed and covered the quilt. He unfastened his gloves and put his rough hand on the white head.
"The kid had a little bit of a high fever. β
"Is there any cold medicine left for me that my wife prescribed to me last time? It's so late that I can't go to the doctor. β
"Yes, I'll get it right away. The woman answered.
"Well, I'll go and get the horse into the stable, and I won't freeze it. The man put his gloves back on, went out and got into the carriage, and with a flick of his wrist the whip made a crunch, and the horse walked slowly. A coachman who makes a living by driving a car will always know to take care of his horse.
When the man returned to his house, shook off the snow on his body, took off the thick warm clothes he was wearing, and walked into the back room, his wife was putting a towel on her white forehead.
"That's why I love her so much. The man thought, walked behind his wife and hugged her.
"What a beautiful kid. It's beautiful. The wife rubbed her husband's face and whispered.
The man knows why his wife is like this, and in a snowstorm, he picks up a life, but almost loses the ability to have children.
"I'm sorry. The man kissed his wife softly on the cheek.
"The water is probably boiling, I'll go down there and give it to you. The wife said and walked out of the house.
The man pursed his lips, there was a little wet mark on it, a hint of saltiness.
The noodles were soon served on the table, a few slices of bacon, a poached egg, a few greens, the soup was half yellow, a few oil splashes, and it was steaming.
The man munched on the noodles, making a loud noise and steaming on his head.
"Mommy, Mommy. A white voice came from the back room. The woman's heart trembled, and she hurried to the back room. Shiro stretched out his hand, trying to grab something in the air.
The woman grabbed Bai's hand and leaned against Bai's side.
"Baby, mommy is here, mommy is here. β
"Mommy, Mommy. Bai screamed and gradually quieted down.
The man leaned against the door at some point, quietly watching it all. The woman looked back at him, her eyes moist.
