Chapter 203: Against Liverpool (Part II)

As the game progressed, Liverpool quickly paid the price for their youth, and the way they handled football was a bit immature.

In the 22nd minute, Juan Mata crossed into the box and Torres leaned on Enrique to give the ball away from the bottom line and Chelsea were awarded a corner on the right. Juan Mata whipped in a corner from the right and John Terry scrambled for the first point before he could react, and the ball flew straight into the net like a cannonball on the top of his head as Chelsea took the lead on their home turf.

Chelsea's lead did make Liverpool's players look a little flustered, and this season the panic of these people has become a stare, and there are always some inexplicable mistakes.

Liverpool's players also began to move less conventionally, and in the 24th minute, Joe Allen made a tackle that was too big, and referee Webber verbally warned and awarded a free kick. Juan Mata's free-kick went straight into the box, but Jones was able to pick it up just in time.

However, Chelsea's attack did not stop, and in the 26th minute, Juan Mata received a cross from his team-mate down the right and went down the right flank, and Jones struck again to get the ball.

In the 27th minute, Liverpool finally had a counter-attack, but Agger fired an anti-aircraft gun from distance.

In the 30th minute, Hazard drove into the edge of the box and split to the left, Torres scurled a right-footed shot, Jones saved the ball, and the fast-following Hazard volley went high again. Although the goal was not scored, Hazard finally found a little bit of the feeling he had at the beginning of the season, and he has been finding a little bit of feeling since Ai Huan's departure, and now he finally feels that he has started to recover, which has also given him a little bit of self-confidence.

A minute later, Oscar was tripped by a Liverpool player in the opposition half and Chelsea were again awarded a free-kick on the left side of the pitch, but Hazard, who had just regained some sense, immediately stepped forward to call for the penalty and Mata did not argue with anything and easily handed the opportunity to Hazard. Eden Hazard sent the ball forward and Torres grabbed the first point before heading it over, but it was still high over the goal.

In the 32nd minute, Eden Hazard again went straight to the left side of the penalty area, Juan Mata cut forward quickly, and Jones once again made a decisive move to get the ball.

In the 33rd minute, Liverpool found another chance to counter-attack, this time Saheen slashed before Ramirez could get on the ground, and the ball was deflected wide of the right post on the turf.

Chelsea, on the other hand, have begun to loosen up some of their attacking pace, increasing their possession rather than attacking and counter-attacking with the style of play they are most accustomed to.

In the 37th minute, Gerrard played a long diagonal pass from the back, and Enrique was offside when he got in front of him, which was supposed to be a simple attack, but there were some problems on the other side. Suarez knocked over John Terry as he moved forward, leaving the Chelsea captain tumbling on the ground in pain and two of Chelsea's team doctors rushing into the pitch to treat him.

Slow motion showed that it was Ramirez who pushed Suarez from behind, and the Uruguayan lost his center of gravity and brought down Terry. Suarez also came over to care about Terry's injury. However, the team doctor quickly made a substitution, and it turned out that Terry had a sprained knee, and the referee also signaled for a stretcher to come in, and the Blues captain was placed on the stretcher.

Rui had no choice but to bring on Gary Cahill and the crowd applauded their captain, but it was unclear how long John Terry would be off, and it would be clear what kind of problems it would pose to an already shaky Chelsea defence.

Liverpool then seized the opportunity to launch a counter-attack, and in the 43rd minute Liverpool won the third corner of the game, which was headed out by Chelsea after the left-hand corner was not high enough.

In the 44th minute, Gerrard fired low again from the edge of the box, but unfortunately there was not much power and Cech got the ball. The first half ended with Chelsea heading into the break room with a one-goal lead.

There were no substitutions for either side in the second half, but Chelsea used their experience to firmly dominate the pitch. In the 46th minute, Torres snatched the ball from behind Joe Allen, but Joe Allen turned and threw Torres down, Webber showed a yellow card and awarded a free-kick. Eden Hazard's free-kick lobled into the box and Agger bounced off the line to give Chelsea another corner. Juan Mata whipped in a corner from the right and Gerrard headed it clear at the near post.

In the 51st minute, Juan Mata volleyed in the right side of the penalty area, and the ball went wide of the left post. Ramirez then broke the ball and then made a quick pass to Bertrand on the left, but the ball went wide and went wide of the touchline, and Ramirez made an apologetic gesture to his team-mate. Oscar then tried to split it with a speed man, Glenn Johnson raised his arm and hit Oscar in the face, and Webb showed Johnson a yellow card.

A Chelsea free-kick loisted into the box and Fernando Torres headed in and Jones sealed it with his knee. Gerrard sprained his knee while defending Torres and fell to the ground for a long time, and Webb was forced to stop the game.

In the 55th minute, Oscar and Ramirez collided with the wall, Ramirez crossed, and Wisem cut the ball away.

The competition between the two sides in the midfield is still relatively fierce, and Liverpool basically relies on fouls to block the opponent's attack, which also makes everyone feel that Chelsea should not have a problem winning this game. In the 60th minute, Chelsea were awarded another free-kick when Juan Mata swung a left-footed free-kick towards the far post and Jones came out to touch the ball and the ball went off the line of Mikel.

Less than a point later, Liverpool were awarded a free-kick, this time Gerrard whipped in a free-kick from the right, the ball was headed into the box, and Raheem Sterling's volley from the edge was again blocked by the wall.

In the 65th minute, Liverpool counterattacked Suarez, and the right rib of the Visdem penalty area swept the ball towards the goal and was blocked, and Liverpool got a corner kick opportunity. This time Gerrard took a corner from the right, Carragher headed back and Suarez headed into the empty net at the back post. Slow motion showed Carragher's header flicking back, but Suya was not offside, and he was slightly behind Ramirez.

Once again, Chelsea's defence made an incredible mistake, which also made Rui look very chagrined, and he sat limply in his chair with a look of regret on his face. It's a game like this, where Chelsea have been pressing their opponents for a long time, but they just can't get the ball into the opponent's goal, which is really speechless. And if there was Ai Huan, I am afraid that he would have already led by three goals by now, which would also make the opponent lose the desire to attack a long time ago, so what would it be like now?
