Chapter Forty-Eight: The Second Encounter
Time flies, and it's February.
After a brief conversation at Christmas, Evan did not try to make contact with Tom Riddle again, believing that it was necessary to snub him for a while.
The atmosphere in the school has been tense, and although there have been no more attacks since the attack on Justin Finchrie, and the mandrake has begun to mature, most of the students are still in the woods.
In this situation, Lockhart seems to think that he needs to do something.
Towards the end of a Defence Against the Dark Arts class, he said to everyone, "You don't have to worry at all, the Chamber of Secrets will never be opened." The criminals must have known that I would catch them sooner or later, it was only a matter of time. Before I can begin to clean them up, it would be wise to stop now. ”
There was a lot of discussion in the audience, and most of them were skeptical of his statement.
"What is needed in school now is to boost morale and erase the bad things from my memory! I can't say much now, but I think I'm confident. ”
By the time breakfast was reached on the 14th of February, everyone knew what Lockhart was doing to boost morale.
When Evan entered the auditorium early in the morning, he saw that all four walls were covered with large, dazzling pink flowers. To make matters worse, there were also heart-shaped confetti falling from the light blue ceiling.
In the faculty chair, Lockhart wore bright pink robes that matched the ornaments, and the professors sitting across from him all had straight faces. A muscle on Professor McGonagall's cheek bulged, and as for Snape, it was as if someone had just poured him a large glass of hard liquor.
Next, Lockhart took it upon himself to announce that he had arranged a small surprise for everyone.
Through the doors leading to the foyer, strode twelve grim-faced dwarves, different from the average dwarf, all with golden wings and harps on their backs.
Loha calls them friendly, little Eros, with greeting cards!
He encouraged students to use them to hand out Valentine's Day cards or ask Snape for advice on how to make Ecstasy.
Evan didn't know if anyone dared to ask Snape for advice on how to concoct Ecstasy, but the dwarves kept rampage around the school, handing out Valentine's Day cards.
Among them, he received the most greeting cards, nearly 200.
This made him the least persona grata among the teachers, and when a dwarf broke into the Transfiguration classroom for the twelfth time, Professor McGonagall kicked Evan out of the classroom with the other party with an ugly face.
The two men stared at each other in the corridor for a long time, and the dwarf seemed to remember his mission, and he brought a Valentine's Day gift with singing for Evan this time.
But Evan was faster than he was, and he drew his wand, and a neat "deadtongue seal" spell silenced the whole world.
In order to prevent the other dwarves from harassing him again, Evan walked back to the common room with his head down, and there was no one inside.
He feebly threw his bag onto the couch, and Tom Riddle's journal fell out of it.
Aivan's eyes flashed, this coincidence was not very pleasant, he was sure that his bag would not come loose like this.
It seems that after more than a month of snubbing, the other party can't wait.
Evan opened the journal, and before he could write, an article appeared on it, perfectly answering the Potions homework he had asked last time.
"Riddle, I've already done that assignment myself, Professor Snape gave me a terrible review, my current problem is" The corners of Aven's mouth turned up slightly, and he casually wrote down the problems he had encountered in his recent magical research.
After about a minute, another answer appeared in the journal.
Riddle gave him a perfect answer to the questions that Evan was experiencing, and he had a sense of enlightenment, some of which were even deeper than the professors' understanding.
In this way, Evan began a second communication with Tom Riddle.
Every night, when everyone was asleep, he quietly took out his diary and wrote down the difficulties he had encountered in the study of magic, and the problems became more and more difficult, many of which were no longer something that an ordinary young wizard should master.
Riddle didn't seem to notice, and he still answered whatever Evan asked, and sometimes even offered to impart relevant magical knowledge.
In addition to answering questions, Riddle had always wanted to talk to Evan about the Chamber of Secrets, and wanted to tell him who the person who opened it fifty years ago was.
But every time Evan changed the subject or closed the diary at the most critical moment, Riddle gradually adapted to Evan this leapfrog way of communication. There is a strange tacit understanding between the two, often he talks about the past related to the secret room first, and then it is time for Evan to ask questions.
As a young Voldemort, Tom Riddle had a very strong knowledge base and could answer almost all of Aven's questions if he wanted to.
From the simplest class assignments, all the way to the most esoteric theories of magic.
For example, Riddle gave him an improved copy charm that could save a sound on any item, depending on the strength of the caster's mana and the material used.
Thanks to Riddle's help, the "Academic Research" section of Hogwarts Wizardry and Wizardry is thriving, no longer full of boring articles such as crucibles and scimitar-horned snorers, but real magical research.
After a transfiguration class, Professor McGonagall even told Evan that she was surprised by the depth of his research on the Transfiguration of Animagus.
In addition, Mr. Guffey, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Prophet, who had been following the newspaper, also offered to reprint some of the research articles, and Evan even received requests for articles from many professional magical academic journals subsequently.
Of course, most of these are the results of Tom Riddle's research.
I wonder if the editors-in-chief of the magazines who asked for manuscripts from Evan would faint in fright after knowing that the academic articles they published were written by Voldemort.
In just over a month, Ai Wen's progress has been very fast.
He learns a lot of theories from Riddle that are not taught in the classroom at all, including black magic. In fact, it seems that the other party has been teaching Evan the dark arts, consciously or unconsciously, and verbally encouraging him to use them.
At first, Evan didn't feel anything out of the ordinary.
He simply felt that the magic was very powerful, much more powerful than normal spells.
After consulting with Professor Flitwick, he learned that Tom Riddle had been teaching him all this black magic.
Until that time, Evan did not realize the seriousness of the problem. He even thought that knowing more about black magic would help him improve his strength.
It had been going on for a long time before he finally noticed that something was wrong, and that the black magic seemed to be having a negative effect on his mind. He grew irritable, irritable, and sensitive, and whenever he practiced using the dark arts, some cruel thoughts appeared in his head.
Especially during a recent conflict with Malfoy, Evan took out his wand and used a newly learned spell on the other party without even thinking about it.
This spell is somewhat similar to Snape's invention of "Bladeless", but it is more powerful, and if it is hit, Malfoy is expected to be more than lucky, because Tom Riddle has not taught him to counter the curse.
Thankfully, Evan came to his senses at the last moment and threw the spell into the air, so that no one could cause the consequences of no return.
This incident frightened him, and it was an extremely dangerous signal.
He suddenly understood why Riddle had gone against the grain and taught him this magical knowledge, one of his demagoguery.
Riddle is looking for a loophole in Aven's psyche, and since Evan is wary of him and has no interest in the Chamber of Secrets, he uses powerful magical powers to lure him down. If Evan is lost in power, then Riddle can take advantage of the opportunity to control him.
Even if he can't control it as he wants, Evan will likely end up becoming an evil dark wizard like Voldemort.
Since then, Evan has never dared to touch the journal, Tom Riddle is so terrifying that he can gradually control a person's mind invisibly.
Even someone like Aven, who had been highly wary of him from the beginning, was no exception.
