Chapter 79: The Witch Shadow Empire
The news that someone had fallen under the spell had spread all over the school, and all the students felt a crisis when the terrible things that had happened in the past, if they were still far away, were actually happening in the school.
Almost a lot of people were talking about it, but no one could say exactly what was going on. So the various versions were born perfunctory.
Some say that the student was attacked by an escaped Death Eater, others say that a student discovered a spy who was planning to secretly investigate the school castle, and some say that they found a secret dark magic object --- a secret Hogwarts treasure but fell under the spell because they didn't know how to use it.
These are all normal versions, and some of them are a bit exaggerated: the Chamber of Secrets has been opened again, the Dark Lord's successor has reappeared, and he is now preparing to do a big job at Hogwarts with the help of dark magic and his inheritance of Slytherin--- the basilisk has long been killed by Albus Dumbledore's wonderful Transfiguration, and that secret room, Andrew himself has explored, and he has not found any other inheritance--anything, including magic, is overshadowed by the magic of time.
In short, all kinds of inexplicable rumors made Qiu laugh for a long time after hearing it.
During this time, Andrew and Cho have been together for a longer time, and Cho has reached the time of graduation, and she is also looking for a job during this time. You know, there aren't that many job opportunities in the wizarding world.
Muggle England has a high unemployment rate, and wizards are not as plentiful in terms of jobs. Treasure hunters like Bill Weasley's are a relatively rewarding profession.
Cho is not against Andrew helping - in this regard, Cho is indeed a conservative Oriental girl - and Earl Lee helps Cho get a job at the precarious Ministry of Magic, and after she reports to the Ministry, she is idle.
Many wizards, especially those in non-important departments, have taken leave, and everyone can see that wizarding Britain is on the brink of all-out war.
The two got tired of being together for a long time and became intimate, Autumn was called away by her friend, and Andrew came to the auditorium alone for dinner.
After leaving the autumn, those complicated things were like a tide, drowning Andrew again. Even those hilarious and funny rumors didn't settle Andrew's heart, because he cared a lot about what was happening in the Ministry of Magic.
Ever since that time at the Ministry of Magic, Hermione had become apprehensive about any of Andrew's actions.
"Are you alright?" Andrew?" asked Hermione, worried again.
"I was just in a daze, Hermione. Andrew said with a smile, forking a slice of steak from his plate. "Don't worry, it was just an accident, I'm fineβββ I think you'd better worry about your Defense Against the Dark Arts papers. β
"Oh my gosh, I'm not done yet. β
On Tuesday night, Andrew decided to check out Dumbledore's. He drove to the door of his office and knocked lightly, and a voice inside invited him in.
Snape was also inside, and he sat in the same place that Andrew used to do, across from Professor Dumbledore.
"Hello, Professor Snape. Andrew said.
Snape just nodded and didn't answer.
"Did you come to me, what's the matter?" said Dumbledore, gently.
"I was going to talk to you about something. Andrew walked over to the table, conjured a comfortable single couch with his wand, and looked at a piece of parchment covered in dense handwriting on the table, "Looks like you're discussing something else?"
"Yes. Dumbledore said, "Severus has some interesting information for us, and I want you to take a look at it." β
Dumbledore's tone was casual and motioned for Snape to hand the parchment to Andrew.
Snape hesitated for a moment before handing the parchment to Andrew.
Andrew took a brief look at the content and found that a large part of it was about himself, and it was written about some of his birth, growth, and the magic he would use, and so on, and listed a lot, and Andrew saw that most of them were true.
"Looks like Voldemort has noticed me. Andrew smiled faintly, unimpressed by the matter.
"It's normal," Andrew continued, "I've been hiding for five years, and it doesn't matter if it's exposed at a moment like this. β
Snape sneered, "Indeed, it's too late for him to find out about your existence at this moment. β
He looked at the casual look on Andrew's neck, "To be precise, he began to pay attention to Earl Lee's forces. But you have to be careful, he's always looking for an opportunity to take out you, and the people around you. β
Andrew also smiled coldly, "Then let him come!" In the past five years, I thought that there was no way to evade his methods, so I kept hiding myself, but now βββ" he sneered again, "βββ I can guarantee that he will regret it." β
Dumbledore smiled, "But now that Voldemort has been making plans around meβββ Andrew is right, he planned that poor boy from the Malfoy family to kill me. β
Snape frowned and said, "But the Dark Lord didn't expect Draco to succeed. This was only to punish Lucius for his defeat. For Draco's parents to watch their son miss, and then pay the price, it would be a blunt knife for them to cut the flesh. β
"Anyway," Andrew said, "it's not as simple as you think. He pulled a piece of paper out of his coat pocket and tapped it with his wand. The blank sheet of paper immediately turned into a picture of Malfoy sneaking up to the eighth floor and entering the Room of Requirement.
"Recently I noticed some of his little moves. Andrew said.
Dumbledore and Snape stared at the repetition without saying a word, and there was a brief silence.
"Looks like the Dark Lord has other plans he hasn't told me. β
"Obviously, he has other tasks that you don't know about. Dumbledore said, looking through his half-moon lenses. "It's funny, Carl. β
Andrew smiled, "I cast a little magic on this piece of paperβββ of course, this is also my own inventionβββ it can automatically record what happened over a period of time, and then selectively keep a certain piece of the picture." β
"It's amazing magic. Dumbledore said approvingly, and Snape looked at Andrew in shock.
"Honestly," Snape laughed ugly, "I wish I had students like you than that stupid Harry Potter." β
"Severus, there are a lot of potential students in Slytherin, and if you can educate them seriously, maybe a genius can emerge. Dumbledore laughed and said, "Alright, we need to figure out what Draco is going to do first. A panicked teenager is dangerous not only to himself, but also to others. Give him help and guidance, he should accept it, he likes you-"
After his father fell out of favor, he didn't like me so much. Draco blamed me, thinking I had hurt Lucius. β
"It's okay, let's try, after all, he's just a kid, and I don't want his soul to be torn apart. β
Snape raised an eyebrow, "Okay." β
Andrew suddenly said, "Oh, Professor Snape, I have one more thing to ask you. β
"What?" Snape asked.
"The half-blood prince - that's you, right?"
"You! you...... How do you know?" Snape asked, his two empty eyes glowing, "βββ you got the book?"
"No," Andrew said with a smile, "I just saw the name and thought it was you." β
"Whose hands is that book now?" asked Snape, grimacing.
"Harry Potter. β
Snape jerked himself from his seat and looked at Andrew with a murderous look on his face.
"Well, don't get excited, Professor. "There's a lot of useful stuff in that book of yours, isn't it?" Andrew casually wrote a few incantations into the air with his wand, "It won't be long before Harry needs them." β
"What do you mean?"
Andrew smiled, not so gently, the faint light of the candle shining only half of his face, so sinister, so vicious. "Because he's going to do something very important, and it's a matter of great importance and it's about our success or failure. β
"What is he going to do?"
"Of course, it's a little early for Harry to do this, after I kill the serpent. β
"You're going to kill Nagini?" Snape looked stunned.
"yes, I'm going to kill his pet myself, his only remaining magically protected Horcrux. β
"You're going to kill it yourself?"
Andrew closed his eyes, very calmly, and opened them again, "That's right, only I can succeed, and only I have the best chance of success." β
"Wait!" Dumbledore snapped, his voice not kind, "you're going to go yourself?"
Andrew nodded silently.
"That's not the plan you told me. Dumbledore panicked and said that Andrew had never seen such an old man so uncalm. "Why? Andrew, tell me. β
Andrew smiled calmly, crossed his hands, and dragged himself down, "I already had this plan when we failed to hunt that snake last year. But I didn't say it, not even a word, because I knew that if I had said it at that time, you wouldn't have agreed, Professor. So I can only tell you when the time is right, because the circumstances have compelled you to allow me to do so. β
Dumbledore took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and sat down in the chair again.
"You're going to die. Dumbledore's voice was a little tired, "It's not a good chance of success. β
"It's just me who does it, and the odds of success are the greatest. Andrew's voice was so firm that no one could refute him.
"Besides...... Andrew looked at the watch-like disc on his wrist, with more than a dozen hands, "it's time for us to make a move, and if we miss this opportunity, we may face great difficulties." β
"What do you mean...... Could it be?"
"yes. Andrew replied, "Lord Headmaster, you should know that before Fudge stepped down, there was a not-so-intimate relationship with Muggles, and my father happened to be in charge of that. Now the new Minister has officially appointed my father as the Wizarding Minister's Ombudsman to the Muggle world, responsible for communication between wizards and Muggles. β
"This is an opportunity, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. With this position, you can do a lot and even completely change the current situation. Andrew said slowly.
Albus's half-moon-shaped glasses burst into a dazzling light, and his brilliant brain began to think wildly.
"What are you talking about?" Snape asked, "I don't quite understand. β
"Professor, I'm afraid this is hard for you to accept - Slytherin has always disliked Muggles, and this project, I have to say, is closely related to Muggles. Andrew said lightly, Snape's expression as ugly as an apple in his mouth.
"Andrew, are you going to expose the wizarding world to Muggles?" Albus was silent for a while, then said with difficulty, "I'm afraid this will cause a big riot, a big problem.... And with the current situation in the wizarding world, I can't afford to toss like that..."
"It's not that far, it's still far from it. But it's time for something to change. Andrew met Albus's penetrating gaze and replied calmly.
"I don't know, what does this have to do with Muggles, those Muggles don't have magical talents, they're stupid and tantrum....." Snape said coldly, frowning as if remembering something bad.
"Now is not the time to argue, we still have a lot of unresolved issues, such as a part of Voldemort living in Harry's body, as long as that soul fragment is still attached to Harry, Voldemort can't die. I'm guessing the Dark Lord is aware of that. He just wasn't sure yet--- he didn't get the Prophecy Orb, which made the Dark Lord even more uncertain. β
The terrible news made Snape flutter again, and he looked at Albus, and saw that the Headmaster seemed to be aware of this, and there was no surprise on his face.
After a long silence, Snape pretended to be calm and asked, "So...... The boy ...... That boy has to die?"
"And it has to be done by Voldemort himself, it's very important. The headmaster said in a low voice.
There was a long silence again. Then Snape clenched his wand and looked at the Headmaster in disbelief, unable to hide his shock any longer, and asked, "Is this your plan?" I had been foolish enough to think that you were protecting him...... For her, for Lily. β
Dumbledore avoided Snape's compulsive gaze, "Calm down, Severus. We were indeed protecting him," Dumbledore said, his eyes closed, "but the connection between them had grown stronger and stronger, like a parasitic life. It is only when he resolutely dies that Voldemort can truly be finished. β
Snape slumped into his chair in horror,
"You let him live just so that he could die at the right time? a senseless death like a pig?" the slippery voice disappeared, replaced by an indescribably heavy, desperate tone.
"Everybody's going to die! Severus!" Albus said, his eyes calming at Snape, "Trust me, if there's a way, I'll do my best to make sure Harry doesn't die." β
Snape jerked to his feet, "You lied!"
He stared at Dumbledore and stretched out his hands tremblingly, "I'm an agent for you, making up lies for you, and risking your life. All of this is supposedly to keep Lily Evans' son safe. And now you're telling me that you're raising him like a pig to be killedβ"
"How touching, Severus," Dumbledore said solemnly, "have you really come to like the boy named Potter?"
"Like him?" Snape cried, "Calling the Divine Guard!"
The silver deer jumped out of the tip of his staff. It landed on the floor, jumped to the other end of the office, and flew out the window.
By this time, Snape's eyes were filled with tears.
