On the Ninety-First Day, the Great Feast in Captivity (Part I)

In order to drag these giant tortoises back, this journey consumed a lot of our physical strength. Pen~Fun~Pavilion www.biquge.info When we came to this place, it took less than twenty minutes, but the way back to the tree house had already taken more than an hour.

The tortoises were very docile at first and did not put up any resistance, but after a long time, perhaps the bumps and the feeling of being dragged made uncomfortable, so they all began to struggle.

Even a few tortoises broke free, raised their thick legs and began to run away. Of course, this was impossible, and the food we had in hand could not have allowed them to escape, so after a chase and capture, the tortoises that tried to escape were all re-caught in our fishing nets.

They didn't run away, but it took a lot of time to capture them, and it happened several times, again and again, and our progress was slowed down again and again.

Moreover, after these turtles are loaded with fishing nets, they cannot be lifted, and can only be dragged on the ground. And from time to time there will be tree roots, vines, and so on on on the ground. As a result, the fishing nets are often scraped, which is annoying. Luckily, the end of the woods is already in sight, and it won't be long before you can leave the woods and return to the yard.

Everyone was sweating hot, especially the few people who had dug the pit just now, who had not yet rested, and were now very thirsty, and did not dare to stay longer in the woods. You must know that wild boars are often seen in this wood, and the path we are on is trampled by wild boars. If you stay and encounter a wild boar, it will be more than worth the loss.

As soon as they returned to the courtyard, Brother Qian, Ying Yuefeng and Mi Dakang all lay down in the shade of the trees in the courtyard, gasping for breath and beginning to recover their strength. The tortoises in the nets all began to struggle to get out, but all the nets were so strong that it was impossible for them to escape again.

After Ye Qingchen put the fishing nets, he just wanted to sit down, but was stopped by me. Everybody's thirsty, so he'll have to go with me and get some water. One and a half didn't take much physical effort, and since he was in a good physical condition, he rushed to the tree house and drank a few sips of water before rushing out again.

I heard Brother Qian ask him where he was going, and he said that he was going to bring back the branches he had picked up earlier, and after saying that, he rushed out of the yard. I took a few bowls, and Ye Qingchen held a basin of cold water and followed out.

Everyone was thirsty, and they all drank desperately until their stomachs were full. A basin of water was also drunk by all four of them. Fortunately, I had already drunk some when I came out, otherwise I would have to go to the bucket to drink raw water. You know, I boil a pot of water every night and dry it in a basin for the next day. In this kind of place, I don't dare to drink this fresh water casually, for fear that there will be some parasites in it. Where there is a shortage of medical treatment, it is better to be safe, so that you can have a greater confidence to get out of here.

I took out the straw mat that had been given to me at one and a half from the treehouse, spread it out and lay down on the ground, I was exhausted and needed a rest. Not only will the traps be finished, but there will also be a space for these giant tortoises to live.

There are different opinions about whether to keep these tortoises in the yard or to enclose a plot of land outside the yard. Ying Yuefeng means to keep it in the yard, just enclose a small piece of land, if it is kept outside the yard, the workload will not only become larger, but he thinks that in case there are wild beasts stealing these tortoises, we can't see it at all.

Of course I don't agree with his statement, because the space in the yard is not big because of their arrival, and if these huge tortoises are kept in the yard, it will inevitably make the yard even more cramped, and I think that if these tortoises are given too little space to move, they will probably not adapt.

Fortunately, Brother Qian's opinion is similar to what I thought, and he also thinks that it is better to keep these tortoises outside the yard, one is that they can be raised in captivity and give these tortoises space to move freely, after all, we are not in a hurry to eat them, but to use them as reserve food, and it is still very good to eat one when there is a shortage of food or when you want to open meat.

In addition, the advantage of keeping outside the yard is that there are a lot of natural plants and weeds outside, etc., at least for a period of time, we don't need to feed them, and more importantly, we can judge which plants they are interested in and what they like to eat according to what these tortoises eat...... After all, none of us here have any experience with how to raise these tortoises. Only after this period of understanding can we know their preferences, and then we can raise them more reasonably based on these results.

After resting for about half an hour, he finally came back at half past one, holding a large pile of slender branches in his hands, and he was also a big horse and long arm, and it was estimated that he would not be able to hold such a large pile of branches for other people.

Now that the materials and everything have arrived, everyone has also stood up and started a new round of busyness. But if all five of them go to the trap, it's too much. So Brother Qian asked me to work with him to cap the trap and let everyone else come out of a thirty or fifty square area for those tortoises by themselves. And he repeatedly told that these tortoises have the ability to escape from prison, so they must ensure that there is no slope at the edge of the fence when they are trapped, and that they must be dense enough and that there should not be too many holes between the fences.

In fact, when I first heard it, I also thought it was quite difficult, it was not difficult to have no slope in front, but it was a very difficult thing to ensure that there was no big hole, but I was relieved to see that no one raised any objections from a few of them, which shows that they have a great grasp, so I didn't question it at all.

……

Acting separately, Brother Qian asked me to jump out of those arm-thick branches, and then sharpened them with a knife and handed them to him, while he dug holes at the bottom of the pit with the Swiss Army knife I gave him, and inserted the thick arm-thick branches I had sharpened into them one by one...... After more than an hour, the bottom is already covered with dense branches, and the sharp branches are facing the sky......

In the end, Brother Qian asked me to find some stones, there are fewer stones in this place, so I found some of the stones I picked up before to pave the ground. I saw that he stuck all these stones into the gaps of the branches, probably to prevent them from being skewed by the impact of the falling wild boar.

The rest of the work is very simple, spread the branches little by little, cross them back and forth, and finally cover them with fallen leaves everywhere, and it is done. If the wild boar comes again, once it falls into this pit, it will definitely come back......
