In silent mode, the power source of the submarine switches to fuel cells. The lower power output allows the submarine to be submerged in a low noise state.

When the submarine needs speed, switch to a closed diesel engine. Provide submarines with greater output power and higher speed.

In terms of enclosed diesel engines, the Zhengxin Poseidon series can be competent with a little modification.

The principle of fuel cell technology is actually to reverse the electrolytic water splitting reaction. In this reaction, large amounts of hydrogen and oxygen are required.

In order to ensure sufficient range and maximum power output, two large liquid storage chambers were required. Oxygen is relatively less demanding in terms of storage technology. But hydrogen is not so easy to do.

As a consumable fuel, hydrogen can only be stored in liquid form within submarines. The storage conditions for liquid hydrogen are much harsher than those for oxygen!

Liquid hydrogen is known to be a mixture of secondary and positive hydrogen.

Secondary hydrogen and positive hydrogen have exactly the same chemical properties, but their physical properties are different. Specifically, the ground state energy of secondary hydrogen is much lower than that of positive hydrogen.

The equilibrium mixture of positive and secondary hydrogen at various temperatures is called equilibrium hydrogen.

The equilibrium concentrations of positive and secondary hydrogen are below 273 K and vary with temperature. The equilibrium mixture of positive and secondary hydrogen at temperatures above 273 K is called normal hydrogen and consists of 75% positive hydrogen and 25% secondary hydrogen.

When hydrogen is liquefied and stored, due to automatic catalysis, positive hydrogen will be converted into secondary hydrogen and heat will be released, resulting in evaporation loss of liquid hydrogen. Therefore, the secondary hydrogen content in liquid hydrogen products is required to be at least 95%.

In other words, when hydrogen is liquefied, it is necessary to catalyze the conversion of positive hydrogen into secondary hydrogen. Moreover, during the use process, the ratio of secondary hydrogen content in the storage tank should also be guaranteed at any time.

Although Zhengxin technology has accumulated hoisting, it is such a remote technology, and the technology is not very related to mechanical design, which still makes it difficult for Li Fanyu.
