Day 86, Hit It Off (Part II)
When I woke up, it was already dark, and staying up late was really hurtful, and I had a headache like I had been hit with a hammer. Pen ~ fun ~ pavilion www.biquge.info
Groping his way up, relying on a glimmer of fire from the gap, he came to the door, Xiao Hei and the little guy were sleeping, hearing footsteps, Xiao Hei stood up vigilantly, but after seeing that it was me, he lay down again and began to sleep again.
The bottle at the door is still there, there is no trace of movement, in fact, even if someone came just now, I may not wake up, I really slept too much, I didn't even have a dream in the middle, even if the thunder probably can't wake me up. Not to mention the sound of this little trap.
Push open the door, the moonlight outside is also good, fortunately before going to bed to feed the lightning something, otherwise it is estimated that it may not be possible to sleep peacefully, the moon is already in the sky, the original hot air has begun to disperse, the sea breeze brought the coolness over.
Opening the drink in my hand and sitting on the swing in the yard, I began to think about the rest of my life. I don't know if they'll come tomorrow, but whether they make it or not, I'm going to live......
The sweetness of the drink and the cool breeze made me feel refreshed. Although I had a headache, I couldn't sleep at this time. So I went to the shed in the moonlight and tried the two lids, and they were both dry, much faster than expected.
I can't sleep anyway, and now that the lid is ready, I can open the kiln and fire it once, and if it succeeds, then the problem of water leakage in the house and the frequent need to replace leaves on the roof will be solved.
After returning to the tree house and adding some firewood, I picked up a large pile of branches and leaves placed in the corner of the house and carried them to the edge of the earthen kiln in the shed. A few more burning branches were taken and the kiln was lit.
The lid was put on with a lot of holes opened with my fingers, this lid is so heavy, I have been worried that it will break when I pick it up or put it down, but fortunately until I put it down and completely adjust the position, this lid did not appear any cracks, if it was just ordinary soil, it should have cracked a long time ago, but the soil of the termite nest is more sticky and delicate compared to it. Perhaps it is for this reason that this lid does not appear cracked.
After putting the lid on, I always felt that it was not very stable, and then I thought that I should dig up a circular pit that was slightly larger than this lid in the surrounding soil, and then put this lid on. The advantage of this is that the flame does not come out of the side. And the lid will also be more stable to place.
After a lot of work, I finally got the lid done. But for me, this is just the beginning, as there are still several steps to be taken. Even the furnace for firing the tile blank has not yet been erected, and it can only be officially started when the construction is completed.
Last time I went to the side of the hill and pulled some stones back to pave the tree house, and now there are some extra ones, just enough to use to build a stove. It's just stacked, and it's pretty fast. The whole process will not take more than an hour. Because now I'm done.
Next, it will be more troublesome, and you also need to be soiled, and there is still soil from the termite nest at the bottom of the pit dug last time, but because there is no water added for a few days, the bottom of the pit has dried up, but it doesn't matter, after smashing it with the sharp protrusion of the back of the axe for a while, the dried soil has been turned up. After adding a few pots of water and stepping on it, the dirt is ready to use.
They are used to paste on the stones that have been made into the furnace, and the inside and outside are covered with this kind of mud, leaving no gaps. Of course, you can't leave a gap, the key to success is also in this furnace, if the furnace is damaged, it will cause the temperature to not go up, and the tiles and all kinds of clay pottery in it will fail to fire.
After several back-and-forth applications, I finally couldn't see any gaps anymore. This stove does not need to be dried, just need to burn the earthen stove vigorously, and the stove on it will automatically dry.
Slowly stuffing the branches into it, the fire began to grow stronger and stronger. But joy and sorrow made too many branches stuffed at once. The air circulation inside is affected, and the combustion begins to become inadequate, and the flame and temperature immediately begin to weaken. Fortunately, the tile embryo was not fired at this time, otherwise the temperature change would completely affect the firing effect.
I made a long branch, pulled out some of the branches that had been piled up in the earthen stove, and then used the branches to pick up the remaining branches. The flames that had been pressed and were about to be extinguished jumped up again. This little episode also reminded me that we should not be in a hurry to add too much firewood to the earthen stove, otherwise the fire will become weaker or even extinguished. Only when the branches of the tree are added to the earthen stove at a gentle speed, will the fire burn more and more!
The stove was much more perfect than it had been designed to be, with flames erupting from under the perforated lid covering the ground and rushing to the top of the stove! This is the sound of water being evaporated.
It was so hot in the pit that the clothes had long been thrown aside, because the smoke was relatively large, and the mosquitoes could not avoid it, but it also saved some trouble. But the sweat was already flowing all over the body, and even the hair was soaked, and even dripping.
But I'm still insisting that as long as it is fired for another hour or so, the furnace should be ready to fire. I could see that the inner walls of the stove had been burned red by the flames that erupted from the holes in the lid. Even if you are half a meter away from the stove, you can feel the scorching air emitting from it.
Maybe it was sweating so much that even if I stopped and drank two bottles of water, it didn't help, and my mouth felt dry all the time. But his stomach was full of water. It was also a paradoxical experience, with my mouth telling me to rehydrate as quickly as possible, while my stomach kept protesting that I kept drinking......
It's been more than an hour, and the entire stove has dried, including the outside of the stove. Because no more branches were added, the temperature in the stove began to drop significantly, of course, because the previous temperature was too high.
As I sat and rested, I was annoyed by the swarming insects, and I felt tired after a while. That's all for today, it's late at night, and it may not be dawn in a few hours. The body clock needs to be adjusted as soon as possible, and there is a good chance that they will come back tomorrow.
Thinking of this, after taking a look at the still burning earthen stove, I returned to the tree house, Xiao Hei and they had already fallen asleep, and I, who was exhausted, also fell asleep not long after lying down.
