Chapter 82: The Witch Shadow Empire
On the day of the Christmas holidays, many people decided to go home and be together with their families.
Because Mrs. Weasley had warmly invited them back for Christmas, Andrew and Harry, along with Ron's family, filled out the form to go home.
Hermione was also going home, and she promised Andrew to come to him as soon as Christmas was over.
They got on the train home, and along the way everyone talked excitedly about what they were going to do when they got home. On the platform of nine and three-quarters, Hermione was kissing Andrew goodbye.
"Andrew, I'm coming to you after Christmas. Hermione said, her face flushing a little from the cold.
"It's okay," Andrew said with a smile, "it doesn't matter if it's late, let's reunite with my family." β
"I hope I didn't bother you, did I?" Sirius said with a smile, gesturing to the people behind him, "Everyone's waiting for you, Andrew." β
"Oh, okay. Andrew didn't look embarrassed at all, "Well, goodbye after Christmas." After Andrew finished speaking, he left with everyone.
On the eve of Christmas. The Weasleys sat in the living room with their guests, and Ginny decorated the room with flowers that looked like an explosion of latte art.
Sirius and Lupin are making everyone laugh when they do some funny things they did when they were students.
Eventually, Mrs. Weasley, in order to listen to her favorite singer, Cetina Warbeck, on Christmas radio, shouted at them to quiet down so that they could hear her singing.
Fleur seemed to find Cetina very boring, and she spoke loudly in the corner, and Mrs. Weasley frowned and kept adjusting the volume with her wand to make Cetina sing louder and louder. Under the cover of a particularly jazzy tune, "A Pot of Fiery Love", Fred, George and Ginny played crackling and exploding cards. Ron's eyes kept peeking at Bill and Fleur, as if he wanted to learn some trick.
Andrew and Harry sat by the fire, listening to Sirius and Lupin continue to talk about the school.
"βββWell, we were so close to that guy," Sirius gestured, "but I didn't even notice βββ"
"βbut let me see," said Lupin, "and I motioned for Jaime to keep quietβββ
"βββ we ended up beating him into a pig's head......"
"Hahaha......"
Andrew looked at the warm atmosphere in the room, and while it was still early, he wanted to close his eyes and rest for a while.
Death~!is blacker than the blackest! countless times.
"You are the candle that is burning out......"
The world of dreams emerged from the darkness.
A laugh crossed Andrew's ear, and he snapped open his eyes. It was discovered that the room that was supposed to be warm was gone, replaced by a cold darkness. Andrew slowly stood up, he was familiar with this environment, because it was in this environment that he once faced the lords of hell, where he had faced the picture of hell head-on and defended his soul.
"Finally came back?" Andrew squinted his eyes and looked around, "Why don't you come out to meet me?"
"See you?" said a voice in the darkness, with endless pride, "I'm right here, but you can't see me." β
"Okay," Andrew shrugged his shoulders, "so what are you looking for me?"
"You know it yourself!" the voice said quietly, "I'm here to get my hands back." β
"Yours?"
"Still lying? Yes, it's human nature to lie. β
In the darkness, a long piece of parchment slowly floated in front of Andrew from a distance, on the parchment was written some strange words, and at the bottom of the paper, a string of large letters was written: Xie An. Next to it is a scarlet handprint.
"Do you remember this?"
Andrew smiled, "It's still fresh in my memory. β
"Very well," the voice said, and suddenly the parchment turned into a flame and burned to ashes. Andrew watched in horror at what was happening in front of him, dumbfounded.
"It's dead!" the voice said.
Andrew didn't speak.
"Human, you are clever enough to find a loophole in such a contract that has been used for thousands of years. I'll admit it, you're amazingβββ"
"βββBut the last thing I can tolerate is someone breaking the contract. That calm voice came from the darkness.
"So, human! you will be punished!"
Suddenly, at some point, there was no longer darkness all around, and the fire that fell from the sky surrounded Andrew, slowly approaching him.
Andrew already felt that the fire was unusual, because he felt that his soul was burning.
"Wait!" Andrew yelled, "you say I broke the contract, but you're going to tell me where I broke it?"
The burning sensation suddenly vanished, and darkness all around him turned again.
There was silence around the "......".
"You say," Andrew smirked, "you can't find it, can you?"
"Human, you're right, I can't find it. β
Andrew laughed, "You can't find it, since you can't find it, why do you say I broke the contract?"
The voice was silent again for a long time before it said, "But I didn't get what I deserved. β
"Very well," Andrew calmed down again, he finally found a bargaining chip, "if you don't find a violation of the entries, you want to punish the signatories of the contract, you will definitely be punished, right?" β
ββ¦β¦ You're right. β
"And me!" Andrew patted his chest, "just taking advantage of a loophole, not violating any of the treaty at all, right?"
ββ¦β¦ You're right. β
"But you unilaterally terminated the contract!" Andrew laughed haughtily, "Say, who broke our previous contract?"
"It's ...... me"
"Very well," Andrew said calmly, "what now?"
In the darkness, a shadow slowly emerged, it was dressed in dark blue shabby robes, and its body was tall. The bones of the fingers were exposed, its face was not visible under the wide hat, and a large scythe was pressed against the shoulder.
He slowly walked up to Andrew, and a voice came from under his hat, "Human, you're smart. It said first, and with its other hand it pulled out another piece of parchment.
"You are the appointed signatory of the contract. β
Andrew nodded and did not speak.
"Our contract was terminated before it was completedβββ anything could happen, and our former king had already thought of this. β
"Once upon a time?" Andrew was a little curious, "why was it once?"
The Dementor was silent for a moment, "Since we haven't had a king for a long timeβββ I have a new contract here, and this contract will only be taken out and used in the event of another accidentβββ just like just now." β
Andrew took the parchment, and again, Andrew couldn't read a word of the text on it. "What is this?" he asked.
"It's a new contract. The Dementor said, "It's even more powerful than the one we signed before." β
The Dementor took the contract from Andrew's hand, gestured on it for a while, and placed it in front of Andrew, "You can get any power and power in the world!"
The Dementor said, "You can be a legend in the world, an invincible king, an extraordinary power! You can be who you want to be! β
"What promise?" Andrew asked.
"Once you've signed it, you'll never be able to love anyone again. The Dementor said, "As soon as you fall in love with someone, our contract is automatically terminated." β
"And what about the people I loved before?"
"The previous ones don't count toward the contract," said the Dementor, "but you can't love anyone anymore, your children, your parents, your future friends, that doesn't count." β
When Andrew heard this, he frowned, "Why do I feel that signing this contract is useless?"
"yes," the Dementor sighed, "how many people have ever been crazy about such a contract? They weren't as rational as you are. They are not like you, they think they can restrain their feelings, and as a result, they can only get endless pain and remorse. β
"That's definitely not what we intended, though. The Dementor said, "While it hurts to have nothing, it's even more painful to gain it and lose it again." β
"I've been watching you, human. You are different from others, and special experiences have given you special thoughts, new ideas. But there are so many things in this world that you haven't owned, aren't they? The most beautiful and dangerous thing in this world is love. Even the craziest will fall at its feet. I think that if you really understand love, you will find that what you get is nothing compared to it. β
As he spoke, the Dementor pulled out a delicate little dagger, "This is for you, if you need it one day, you can use him to summon me, and I will wait until you agree to sign this contract." β
Andrew took the dagger, "You say...... Contracts are powerful and effective, aren't they?"
"That's right. The Dementor replied.
A smile appeared on Andrew's lips, "What if I did?"
"Oh?" the Dementor smiled, and though he couldn't make any smile visible from his appearance, Andrew still felt the Dementor smile in front of him. "Do you think you'll restrain your feelings?"
It laughed a few more times, full of mockery, "That's right, maybe you think that you already have someone you love, and you will never love another person, right?"
"Wrong! You're wrong!" said the Dementor, "your human life, or rather, everything in this world will be full of accidentsβββ like the pact we made beforeβββ but you can't guarantee that you will love the same person for the rest of your life, won't you love your children?βββ? Then after your death, you will no longer be swayed by the years, and I will be your most faithful servant. β
Andrew nodded, "The contract is like this, the harsher the conditions, the greater the reward, isn't it?"
The Dementor nodded, "You understand this, and that's why I admire you." β
"Very well," Andrew signed his name on the parchment and pressed his own handprint.
Very well, the Dementor put away the contract and prepared to turn away, "So...... Indenture...... ...... came into effect"
"Please wait...... Andrew's voice suddenly came from behind the Dementor,
The Dementor turned around and saw what frightened him the most: the dagger it had given to Andrew, stuck in Andrew's throat, he was dead, and next to him, there was a new, identical Andrew.
Andrew looked at the Dementors with a smile, "I've done it, our contract. β
"It's a clever idea, but it doesn't work. The Dementors dissipated like a cloud of smoke, and with it Andrew himself.
When Andrew woke up again, it was already night. He found himself lying in bed, which seemed to be still Burrow.
"You're awake? You're asleep, you can't wake up, so I have to use a levitation charm to get you to bed. Hermione was reading a book on the other side with her back to Andrew, and she said without looking back.
"How long did I sleep?" asked Andrew.
"A few hours, you've been sleeping all afternoon. If it weren't for the serenity, we thought you had fallen under some curse?" Hermione looked back.
Andrew rubbed his forehead, the things in the dream flashed before his eyes like a bizarre movie clip--- after the picture of hell was integrated into Andrew's body by Queen Anne, there were more and more dreams that were difficult to distinguish between real and false, "I want to drink some water, Hermione, pour me a glass of water." β
Hermione hurriedly handed her water glass to Andrew, "You look so bad, are you having a nightmare?"
"It's a bad dream, but it's not the most important thing..."Andrew looked out the window, a crescent moon was already hanging in the sky, the stars were twinkling, and the whole world was quiet, "Hermione, do you believe it?
"Huh?"
"I dreamed of another version of myself in my dreams, doing something else. Andrew said simply.
"You mean alternate universes?" Hermione replied immediately.
"Something like that, but different. Parallel universes, it seems that at some point, we will have the same place. What I'm talking about is completely different, we can perceive each other by relying on unknown connections. β
Hermione looked at Andrew suspiciously, "I don't understand. β
"I don't know how to describe it, it's as if we have a common source, and that source has an infinite number of branches, and we are only one of them. β
"Isn't that still a parallel universe?"
