Chapter 10: Before the Audition

Two days went by in a flash. Early in the morning, people began to wait outside the door of the Immortal Bird Film Company.

Leila looked down the window and asked suspiciously, "Did I remember the wrong time for the audition?"

Demi hurriedly shook her head: "No, you did set it at 9 o'clock in the morning, they came early." ”

"There were so many people. Leila was a little amazed, worthy of Hollywood, and there were already hundreds of people waiting outside at 8 o'clock.

"Of course. Louise pushed the door open and came in, just in time to hear her. "This is Hollywood, and countless people have dreams of becoming movie stars. ”

Lyra heard the pride in her tone and curled the corners of her lips slightly.

"I didn't think I was getting paid much, but I didn't expect so many people to come so early. ”

Louise smiled and shook her head, "Trust me, you've already given a lot. Even if you only pay half, there will be a lot of people running to the audition. We're looking for a leading actor, which is pretty pretty a qualification. ”

"Yes. Leila nodded. "Then the next audition is please. ”

"Don't worry. Louise handed her a thick folder: "The budget for the film has come out, because there are no big scenes, and the budget is set at 75,000 dollars." The actor's salary is also included. ”

If she went to the Screen Actors Guild, she wouldn't have been paid $10,000 at all. The last thing that Hollywood lacks is a lot of newcomers, and in order to get a role, hundreds of thousands of dollars can be paid to recruit a lot of people.

Who makes the boss rich? She doesn't complain to the boss about such a trivial matter.

Leila can now see that she seems to have really given a big salary. Her impression of Hollywood stars' salaries is all on a certain movie of tens of millions, and there are various shares. So I accidentally forgot that I wasn't looking for a star at all, and I couldn't invite a star at all. For a good role, a small salary can definitely attract people.

Think of it as a penny. She smiled bitterly.

After handing over the matter to Louise, she quietly went downstairs and watched the actors who came to audition in the corner, trying to find some distinctive actors inside.

"Remember, this is an opportunity. Winning it means you're officially landing in Hollywood, you know?"

In the corner not far away, a man dressed as a suit and leather shoe agent was admonishing a woman.

"Frank, do I really need to be a part of it? It's a horror movie, and it doesn't seem to have much commitment. ”

"Kate! You do have some accomplishments in the same place. But this is Hollywood, look around you, all the contenders who are competing for the horror movie that you say doesn't put much money into! See that pretty girl in front of you? She's done more in movies than you think. ”

"I know this Immortal Bird Films, they really only make some ketchup-B horror movies, but you don't need to worry about that. Think about how much you can write about the heroine of a movie on your qualifications and how good it will be for your future path!"

"Okay, Frank. The woman interrupted his gushing: "I know what you mean, I'll go to the audition well." ”

"That's what I know Kate, come on, believe in your ability, you must get this role!"

Leila was captivated by their conversation. The words of the man who was obviously the agent persuaded the actor to make her very touched, and he also said a rule of Hollywood.

Hollywood values seniority. A little-known rookie screenwriter, even if he writes a very good script, it is impossible to easily find investors. Like that kind of rookie who throws the script to the film company, and then is found to be amazingly talented, and finally the plot of the film company crying and shouting and asking to buy the script will only appear in the novel.

How many scripts does a major film company receive each year? Tens of thousands, for sure. It is impossible for them to go through every script, and they can only roughly categorize it into consideration, to be considered, and not to be considered.

For example, if there are tens of millions of dollars that want to invest in film production, will you invest in a book by a well-known playwright, or a good book that an inexperienced rookie swears by absolute success? Even if that rookie writes really well, how many people are willing to risk their own large sums of money? After all, even a well-known playwright will have a time to hit the streets, let alone a newcomer.

Let's take her in the past, if she hadn't made some commercials that were quite successful, would anyone ask her to make TV? If she hadn't made some money-making TV, would anyone ask her to make movies? Qualifications are very important things to put anywhere.

In addition, Hollywood is very xenophobic, even if you are a very famous actor in a foreign country, you will not be able to find an opportunity to participate in Hollywood. Even if you find an opportunity, you won't have any advantage over local actors, unless you let them see your box office appeal.

So what the agent said was very pertinent. No matter what kind of movie you make, winning the role of a leading role first is definitely a very good qualification. Of course, it would be better if the movie with the lead role could be a big hit, but how could that opportunity be easily obtained by a foreign actor who came to test the waters?

Thinking of what happened to her previous life, Leila poked her head out with some emotion, wanting to see the two of them talking. It doesn't matter if you look at it, the person who appeared in the sight startled her, because the actress she knew, and she was still a pretty big name in the future.

Cate Blanchett, who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2005 for her outstanding performance in "The Aviator", and won the Best Actress crown in 2013 with "Blue Jasmine", can be said to be an actor who combines beauty and strength.

But that was a few years later, and now she is still an Australian actor who has just graduated from drama school. Although she also won the Best Newcomer Award and the Best Actress Award from the Sydney Drama Critics Committee, it is useless for Hollywood to win such an award.

This is a great opportunity to deliver to your door!

Leila's heart burned, she knew too well how a good actor can add to a script. Maybe Kate doesn't have excellent acting skills in the future now, but at least she has the potential, and after some polishing, she will definitely be able to play a stunning effect.

If she remembers correctly, next year, in 1997, Kate will star in her first Hollywood film, "The Road to Paradise", and since then she has started her brilliant career as a Hollywood star. And in 1999, she won the first Oscar nomination in her life with "Elizabeth".

Now she is still a dusty pearl, and no one has discovered the potential of her pearl. Digging up a future Oscar-winning actress, can anyone refuse such a crazy sense of accomplishment?

At least Leila believes she can't.

The heroine is going to be her!

Without looking at anyone else, she had already made a decision in her mind.
