Chapter 16: The Principal

Albus Dumbledore's office is at the heart of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where it controls the entire castle's enchantments. The average wizard simply can't find this place. Many students who graduate from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry never know where the Headmaster's office is. The wizards who didn't come into contact with the headmaster didn't care about that.

Harry Potter didn't know where the Headmaster's office was, and if Professor McGonagall hadn't led him there, he wouldn't have known that the Headmaster's Office was hidden behind a secret passage, and he could only enter it by the right means.

Sirius had been to the principal's office when he was in school, when Albus Dumbledore became the principal. As the naughtiest student in the school, he and the principal have a lot of time to meet alone. For many years, the headmaster's office in the castle did not move. Hogwarts Castle is not like any other living structure that can grow slowly over time.

After navigating a long hallway, Sirius came to a tall marble statue that looked like one from the pyramid of the Nile, with a huge bird's head looking out into the void with wide eyes. After all these years, the appearance of the statue has not changed.

"Honey Yuzu Candy!" the statue didn't move, "Carrot Lollipop!" The statue still didn't move, Sirius tried a few spells in his memory, but all of them had no effect, it seems that Albus Dumbledore's taste for candy has changed over the years.

Just as he was about to take some special measures to deal with the statue, there was a sound of footsteps, at this time he should not appear in this Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in wizarding form, if he was recognized by Severus Snape or any member of the Order of the Phoenix, then the consequences would be very troublesome.

"Quickly become invisible!" As if smashing an egg on his head, Sirius fused with the wall behind him and disappeared into thin air. Professor McGonagall appears around the corner of the hallway. She wears a pale blue plaid wizard robe with a soothed wizard hat that is also pale blue. Professor McGonagall did not notice any anomalies. She came to the statue and tapped her wand on the statue a few times, and the stone statue came to life and quickly jumped to the side.

Professor McGonagall didn't use the spell, she used her wand, which made Sirius's heart tighten, and at this point, there was another sound of footsteps at the end of the hallway, and Professor McGonagall stopped and turned to look at the way. Sirius took advantage of this opportunity and entered the hallway.

"Minerva, you've arrived. Professor Flitwick said breathlessly, and he trotted over.

"Well, I think we'll have to convince Albus that if we openly oppose the Ministry of Magic like this, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry could be devastated. Professor McGonagall said worriedly.

"I think so too, but you and I have lived with Albus for so long, and we all know what his personality is, and I don't think he will listen to us. Flitwick said worriedly.

"Anyway, we're going to have to convince him, I see some more Aurors arrive at the castle, is there something going on?" Professor McGonagall asked.

"I don't see it, let's go up first, the two of them should have to wait a little longer. Flitwick and Professor McGonagall entered the spiral staircase together.

Sirius, who had entered the spiral staircase before them, had heard the roar in the headmaster's office. Fudge is a power-hungry wizard, and although he is good, he lacks courage and has little courage on some key issues.

Sirius, as a wanted criminal, of course, couldn't let Fudge see it, but fortunately, there were no Aurors standing guard outside the headmaster's office, and he noticed that Professor McGonagall was coming up, and hurriedly hid by the door again.

Professor McGonagall and Flitwick heard Fudge's voice in the office, and they looked at each other, both seeing worry in each other's eyes. A knock on the door interrupted Fudge's questioning of Albus Dumbledore, and Albus Dumbledore's calm voice came, "Please come in." ”

Sirius didn't dare to follow in, there was a strong demonic pattern formation in the office, and the invisibility spell would be cleared directly. Shortly after Professor McGonagall and the others entered, Severus Snape and Professor Sprout arrived.

Sirius took advantage of the moment the two opened the door and looked inside, Fudge standing with his back to the door, followed by a witch in a pink coat.

"Minister, I think you misunderstood Albus, he doesn't have any intention of going against the Ministry of Magic, everything we do is to protect the students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the current state is grim, if Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry does not have the ability to protect itself, it will soon become a burden to the Ministry of Magic. Professor McGonagall said.

"Well, we?, are you going to support Albus Dumbledore to continue this nonsense?" Umbridge said to Professor McGonagall with a smirk on her face.

"Albus Dumbledore is the legal headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and we are working according to the headmaster's instructions and have not violated any Ministry of Magic regulations. Professor Sprout said.

"Whether Albus Dumbledore has violated the rules has not yet been investigated, and no one can guarantee whether he violated the process. But I want to warn you that it's a crime to cause me trouble and confront the Ministry of Magic in private. I hope you all understand the trend, and I've asked the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Board of Trustees to discuss the appointment of Headmaster, as Albus Dundedon has been in this position for over fifty years. Minister Fudge said coldly.

Professor Flitwick writhed in his chair with some uneasiness, and Severus Snape said, "My Excellency, as far as I know, Death Eaters are not soft-hearted men. Their intentions at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry have been consistent. As I think you know, Voldemort once wanted to be a professor at Hogwarts, but Albus Dumbledore turned him down. ”

"What do you want to say, Snape?" Minister Fudge gave Severus Snape a hard look, as if to blame him for talking too much.

"I just wanted to remind you that our common enemy is still Voldemort, and it may be a little too early to accuse each other like this before the Death Eaters are eliminated. Snape said in a grim tone.

"Presumptuous, are you accusing the Minister of not having a big picture? The Minister is now representing the Ministry of Magic, and Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, as a school under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Magic, shouldn't it be subject to the unified arrangement of the Ministry of Magic?, or do you think the Ministry of Magic should cooperate with Hogwarts in turn?" Umbridge snapped.

"I didn't say that. Severus Snape replied coldly.

"I've been told that Hogwarts is now completely corrupt and degenerate, and that the professors and students here are no longer good and knowledgeable sacrificial children, but a bunch of ambitious, selfish and bad people. I think I've let this situation go so long that some people have misjudged Hogwarts to be the center of wizarding England. ”

"Something must be done, now, Albus, you have disappointed me so much! I can't believe it!" Fudge looked distressed, his hand resting on his chest, as if trying to prove how disappointed he was.

Albus Dumbledore, who had been calm and silent, sat behind the rector's desk and watched Minister Fudge quietly. He's made his decision today, and while he's not as bold as Gellert Grindelwald, it's at least a step forward and a good start.

Did Albus Dumbledore deliberately arrange the sacrifice of Harry Potter, or did Albus know that Harry already had a part of Voldemort's soul in his body at this time, or did Albus think about how to separate the Horcrux from Harry's soul?

Some people say that Albus has actually arranged everything, just like he has been secretly training Harry, just so that Harry can bravely face his fate in the future, and then sacrifice himself.

But there are also those who suspect that Ab is trying to sacrifice Harry the way he sacrifices his sister. Thinking of wizards in this way is prejudiced against the Dundondon family. Albus Dumbledore certainly had his secrets and his last resort, but it was hard to imagine that the old man would have allowed Harry to die when he had other options.

Any unfavorable situation is caused by the lack of the wizard's own ability.

Prior to this, Albus was not simply a admirer of wizarding power, but more inclined to prove the need for magic with beauty and protection. But since Gellert Grindelwald's head-on defeat to Voldemort, Albus's resolve has wavered.

If he can defeat Voldemort head-on, or even destroy this dark wizard completely, then Harry still needs to take risks, sacrifice, and face Voldemort? Maybe other wizards don't know, but Albus knows very well that Gellert Grindelwald's strength is now the strongest wizard in the whole of Europe.

For many years, Albus had adhered to his own rules, not learning or using some dark arts, but was this insistence really necessary? Is magic like Horcruxes really useless to righteous wizards? If he could find a magic to kill Voldemort by sacrificing himself, would Albus Dumbledore use such magic? The answer is yes.

This time Albus took such a drastic act, openly opposing the Ministry of Magic, it was a brave attempt, if he had a way, he also had a chance to deal with Voldemort, why leave the danger to Harry Potter?

Before Gellert Grindelwald, Albus could have argued that he did not have the ability or the means to defeat Voldemort directly, but Gellert Grindelwald set an example for Albus Dumbledore, and he defeated Voldemort head-on to rise again.

"Connelly, no matter what, I beg you, believe me, in the near future, you will see the effects of this. Albus looked Minister Fudge in the eye, a hint of plea in his voice. Fudge looked at him as well, and the office fell silent as everyone looked at Minister Fudge.

After a while, just as everyone was being persuaded by Minister Fudge, Fudge looked away and said in a somewhat hoarse and low voice, "Albus, even if I beg you not to do anything like this again, maybe... Maybe we'll be able to work together as happily as we used to. ”

After Fudge finished speaking, he looked up at the Headmaster, their eyes meeting and staggering in the air, Albus Dumbledore sighed in his heart, and Fudge's face changed from anger to disappointment, and finally to marble hardness.

"Now that you've decided, there's only a few things left for the Ministry of Magic to do. So... I took my leave. Minister Fudge picked up his black wizard's round hat from the table, slowly stood up, his movements as hard as his face, and when he turned he added, "Maybe Snape is right, we have a common enemy, Albus." ”

Umbridge's stocky body followed closely behind the minister, and the two never looked back, leaving.

"Albus, I know you have a plan, but is this really good? After the two ministers left, Professor McGonagall said impatiently.

A calm smile leaked from Albus Dumbledore's calm face, and he said, "Minerva, the world is changing too fast now. We've come to the point where we have to change. The old advantages are rapidly being lost, and the new ones have not yet been formed. The Ministry of Magic, as the administrator of wizarding Britain, has fallen far behind. We should not be concerned about how Fudge is going to arrange Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but about the external forces that continue to erode us. After all, if there are no wizards in Britain, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the Ministry of Magic, what is the possibility of existence. ”

Albus looked at the four deans, all of whom had worried expressions on their faces.

"Do you really think that our country is at war, Lord Chancellor?" asked Professor Flitwick.

"Oh, of course, and even less good news, we are the underdog in the war. ”

"But the Death Eaters had already suffered a heavy blow last time, and had they recovered so quickly?" Professor Sprout asked.

"No, of course it's not just Death Eaters. There's something else. Albus looked at Severus Snape, who happened to look at the headmaster with some surprise, "Severus, I think you should know better." ”

Snape thought for a moment and said, "Are you saying that it wasn't the Death Eaters who attacked Hogwarts Castle this time?" The professors all saw Voldemort appear with the other two men in black, Voldemort as the leader of the Death Eaters, if it wasn't for the Death Eaters who attacked Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, then who would it be, with such great power?
