Probably the current Chinese Football Association has not really considered this problem, the new chairman of the Football Association is too far behind the previous Guo Fan, he does not understand football, and completely uses football as a political tool. His attitude is actually very clear: every time the Chinese team can reach the finals of the World Cup, it will be regarded as completing the task.

What else can be expected of such a head of the Football Association? Some people have long speculated: "Once Guo Fan leaves the position of chairman of the Football Association, Chinese football will follow the old path." Now, it seems, it was.

In this world, the performance of the Chinese team is very average, Ma Junqiang's goal-front reflexes have obviously dropped too much compared to his peak, three group games, he conceded a total of four goals, it seems that he did not concede much, but you must know that in the first two World Cups he participated in, he played in a total of six group games, and only conceded three goals.

In addition to him, Yan Tao, Liang Xiran, and Xu Ziyi are not as good as their peak, only Xu Zhixin can still maintain a high level, he scored two goals in three group games, and assisted Xu Ziyi to score one goal. What is embarrassing is that the Chinese team also scored four goals in the group stage, which is exactly the same as the number of goals conceded, and the goal difference is zero. In addition to the above two, Lin Li also scored a goal, which was also his first goal in the World Cup.

Despite the disappointing results in the group stage, China advanced to the knockout stage as group runners-up, where they met European powerhouse Germany. Eight years ago, the Chinese team and the German team met in the quarterfinals, and the Germans were led 3:0 by the Chinese team to score three goals in a row, and defeated Germany in the penalty shootout, broke into the semi-finals, and finally won the championship. Today, the Germans have their best chance to get revenge.

It was supposed to be a close game, but with the Chinese players either too old or lacking in strength, it was difficult to compete with the Germans. The Chinese team was passive throughout the game, and several limited assists were played by Xu Zhixin and Xu Ziyi. But Xu Ziyi is 34 years old after all, and he can't hold on to the whole game; Xu Zhixin's range of surprise attacks on the side is limited, and if he is prevented from death, the Chinese team's attack will be paralyzed immediately.

In this passive situation, the outcome is self-evident, China lost 0:2 to Germany and missed the promotion. After the game, Ma Junqiang, Xu Ziyi, Yan Tao, and Liang Xiran announced at the same time: permanently withdraw from the national team!

Ma Junqiang said: "I know it's difficult to make such a decision, but I think it's time for us to leave, the Chinese team should have younger players to carry the flag, I have stood in front of the Chinese team for so many years, I am very satisfied." ”

A reporter asked him: "Then when do you plan to retire?"

Ma Junqiang said with a smile: "I don't know, my contract with the LA Galaxy has been completed, and Mr. Feng is currently talking to the team about renewing my contract, if I can, maybe I will play for another year, but if the team is not willing to renew my contract, then I have no complaints about leaving now." ”

Less than 24 hours after Ma Junqiang and other five players announced their retirement from the national team, Zhang Shujie, Li Mu, Chen Zihua and other players sent a message on their Facebook, Weibo and other social platforms: Although there is no public explanation, we have withdrawn from the national team after it was confirmed that we would miss the World Cup due to injury!

I thought that when the news came out, the Chinese media would be blown up into a pot of porridge, but the country seemed relatively calm. Mainly because everyone has long guessed that they have withdrawn from the national team by default. Think about their age, Zhang Shujie and Li Mu are thirty-five years old, Chen Zihua is thirty-four years old, they really don't have the energy to play for the national team anymore.

Chen Hui wrote in the report: "We have experienced a great era, but now, this great era is over. Once the world champion, only Xu Zhixin is still in the national team, but he is already 30 years old, how many years can he play?"

Zhang Shujie played a total of 80 games for the Chinese national team, scoring 85 goals and providing 23 assists, Li Mu played 83 games and scored 73 goals and provided 35 assists, Chen Zihua played 80 games, scored 25 goals and provided 33 assists, and Xu Ziyi played 87 games, scored 26 goals and provided 36 assists.

This is the data of the "front quartet" of the Chinese team that year, and their appearances are actually not much, mainly because in the middle and late stages, they did not participate in all the Asian qualifiers, and they did not play every game in some international breaks, so they have played less than 100 games for the national team so far.

Among this group of national football players, no one has played 100 games for the national team, and the most appearances are Ma Junqiang's 90 games. Someone once advised him to quit the national team after playing a hundred games for his country, but Ma Junqiang refused. In his opinion, it was just a name, far less important than the World Championship accolades.

Yan Tao then played 88 games for the national team, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists, while Liang Xiran played 77 games, scoring five goals and providing three assists. The achievements of these two national team defensive partners may not be surpassed for a long time to come, and I believe that Chinese fans will remember their contributions to the national team.

*******************

The World Cup ended with France winning the title, with Mbappe scoring six goals and becoming the favourite for this year's Ballon d'Or and World Footballer of the Year. It can even be said that there is no suspense!

Then the vacation of all the players also began, Zhang Shujie and Wang Shihan took their son to Greece for a trip, and happened to meet Chen Zihua's family of three; Li Muze and Ye Xiaotong took their daughter to Bali; Yan Tao and Gu Qingqing stayed in China; other players traveled around with their families; Xu Ziyi, who has never been married, finally "hooked up" with a woman this year, the daughter of an entrepreneur, and the family is very rich.

It can be seen that these players are enjoying life in the twilight of their careers, and they don't care so much about the glory on the football field, because they have got too many things and too many honors, and these championship glory may not be obtained by other players in their lifetime.

Even if many of them know that maybe they may not be able to continue to be in their club next season, so what? As Zhang Shujie said: "Even if I retire now, I will not leave any regrets, and I can't think of any other accolades in my career that I have not won." ”
