Chapter 43: The Labyrinth

Phoenix stood up, and the Slytherin students applauded him in unison. He walked out of the auditorium with Harry, Fleur, and Wickdore.

"Are you feeling alright, Harry?" asked Bagman as they descended the stone steps, "Confidence?"

"It's good. Harry said.

They walked into the Quidditch pitch, which had become completely unrecognizable. A twenty-foot-high hedge encloses the edge of the field. There was a gap in front of them, and that was the entrance to the great labyrinth. The passage inside is dark and a little scary.

Five minutes later, people began to enter the stands. Hundreds of students sat down, and the air was filled with excited words and a jumble of footsteps. The sky is now a clear deep blue, and stars are beginning to appear. Hagrid, Professor Moody, Professor McGonagall, and Professor Flitwick walked into the playing field and walked towards Bagman and the Warriors. Their hats were embellished with glittering red stars, with the exception of Hagrid, whose red star was behind a flannel vest.

"We're going to patrol the outside of the labyrinth," Professor McGonagall said to the warriors, "and if you're in trouble and want to be rescued, shoot red sparks into the sky, and we'll have someone to help you, understand?"

The warriors nodded together. Phoenix glanced stealthily at Snape, who nodded slightly.

"Alright, you can go!" Bagman said cheerfully to the four patrolmen. Snape, McGonagall, Moody, and Flitwick headed for their respective patrol areas.

"Good luck, Harry. Hagrid whispered. The four men walked away in different directions, distributed around the maze. Bagman pointed his wand at his throat and chanted "Loud sound," and his magically amplified voice echoed in the stands.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the final event of the Triwizard Tournament is about to begin! I'll tell you the current score! Phoenix Peverell - 100 points, first place Hogwarts. Applause and cheers startled the birds of the Forbidden Forest into the darkening night sky. "Harry Potter - 85 points, 2nd place, Hogwarts School!Victor Krum - 80 points, 3rd place, Durmstrang House!" "Fleur Delacour - Fourth place, Beauxbatons Academy!"

"Now--Phoenix, listen to my whistle!," said Bagman, "Three-two―――――

With a short whistle, Phoenix hurried into the labyrinth.

The tall hedges cast a dark shadow on the path, and I don't know if it was because of the height and density of the hedges, or because of magic, but as soon as he entered the labyrinth, the audience could not hear the voice. Phoenix almost felt like he was underwater again. He drew his wand and cast a disillusionment spell on himself, feeling a cold, viscous liquid cascade over his head. After looking down to make sure there were no flaws, he continued on his way, and after walking about fifty meters, he came to a fork in the road.

Without much hesitation, I took the left road.

Phoenix hears Bagman's whistle blow again, and Harry enters the labyrinth. A gray, rhinoceros looking like a rhinoceros suddenly sprang out in front of Phoenix's eyes, and it looked at Phoenix vigilantly, lowered its body slightly, and made a charging motion before attacking. He also recognized the animal in front of him as a poisonous horned beast. It's strange that they don't usually attack people. The most important thing is that Phoenix is now under the effect of the Illusion Charm, and it is impossible for it to detect him.

He began to clear the way for Harry, forgetting that Moody's eyes could see through the illusion charm.

Poisonhorns, tails, and explosive venom are dangerous. Suddenly it came running wild, but it couldn't pose any danger to Phoenix. With a flick of its wand, an invisible wall lay across the road, and the venomhorned beast crashed into it with a muffled thud and fainted.

After solving this little trouble, he quickened his pace. He had to get in before more trouble arrived. He turned to the right and hurried forward.

A third faint whistle from Bagman was heard in the distance, and Krum came in. Phoenix judged from the whistle that he had gone deep into the labyrinth.

The maze darkened by the minute, and the sky above me turned teal. He came to the second fork in the road.

"Show me the way. He pinned his wand to the palm of his hand and whispered to it. The wand spun around, designating the dense hedge to his right. It was north, and he knew that to get to the center of the maze he had to go northwest. The best thing to do is to take the road on the left and turn right as soon as possible.

The road ahead was still empty, and when it came to a right turn, Phoenix turned in, and the two Dementors stood in place, sensing him in an instant, no way this kind of creature, not seeing but hunting through spirits. Twelve feet tall, hooded over his face, rotten and scabbed hands stretched straight. It approached, feeling it towards him. Phoenix could hear the gurgling gasps in its throat. Phoenix summons the Guardian Phoenix to drive them away.

Suddenly, he heard movement behind him, and turned around and a powerful purple-black spell flew out, and Krum ran out of a path on the right. He flashed awkwardly, still grazed by the spell. The entire right leg is covered with a purple liquid.

"Avada suo!" Krum seemed sure that there was someone in front of him, and raising his hand was a death curse. It's a pity that Phoenix, who has the advantage of stealth, easily dodged and stunned him with a stun spell. You don't have to look to know he's under the Imperius Curse.

Turn left - turn right - turn left again - he keeps correcting his course with the Pointing Charm. Suddenly, a scream pierced the silence around them. It was Fleur who seemed to be in trouble and didn't know if it would stop here or continue. In all fairness, Phoenix still wants her to be out as soon as possible.

This is no ordinary game anymore.

Phoenix turned left again and saw a strange golden mist floating in front of him. Carefully step forward and point your wand at it. After a closer look, it was a clever spell. Almost certain that the wouldn't cause any harm, Phoenix took a deep breath and walked inside.

The world has turned upside down. He hung there upside down, his hair standing on end, threatening to fall into the bottomless sky at any moment. His feet seemed to be glued to the grass, which was now the ceiling, and below him was an endless, starry black night sky. He felt that as soon as he lifted his foot, he would immediately fall.

This magic can be very ingenious and test the courage of people. Those who are deceived by their own feelings can only stand still and bear fear.

He heard his own blood pounding against his ear drums. Unable to enjoy this alternative view any longer, he lifted his left leg vigorously.

The world immediately returned to its original state, and Phoenix fell to his knees on solid ground. He took a deep breath, calmed down, and then got up and ran forward, looking back at the golden mist that seemed innocently shimmering at him in the moonlight.

The growing darkness convinced him that he was approaching the center of the labyrinth. Then, as he walked down a long, straight path, he noticed movement again, and the light of his wand shone on an extremely strange monster that he had only seen in the Yokai Book of the Yokai.

It's the Sphinx. Its body resembles a frighteningly large lion: huge claws, a long yellow tail, and a tuft of hair at the tip of the tail. But it had a woman's head. As Phoenix approached, she turned her long almond eyes to look puzzled. Phoenix cautiously walked past it.

It's a fork in the road.

"Show me the way!" he said to his wand again, which spun around and pointed to a path to the right. He walked along the road and saw a bright light in front of him.

The Triumph Cup shimmered seductively on the base a hundred meters away.
