Chapter 6 Undercurrents
"The Irish team wins!" shouted Bagman, who liked the Irish team, as if a little confused by the abrupt end of the game, "Krum caught the Golden Snitch - but the Irish team won - oh my God, I don't think anyone expected this to happen!"
"I said, we fought bravely. A heavy voice behind Phoenix said. He turned his head and saw that it was Bulgaria's Minister of Magic.
"You can speak English!" Fudge said, in an annoyed tone, "but you've made me here all day!"
"Hey, that's fun. The Bulgarian minister shrugged his shoulders and said.
Phoenix told Daphne about Obalonsk's trick on Fudge. The latter almost burst out laughing, but struggled to hold back.
"Now, with the Irish players circling the pitch in the company of their mascots, the Quidditch World Cup trophy has been sent to the top box!" said Bagman's bell-like voice.
The top box is magically illuminated, allowing all spectators in the stands to see what's going on inside the box. Phoenix squinted at the entrance, only to see two panting wizards carrying a large gold cup into the box and handing it to Cornelius Fudge. Fudge still looked unhappy, for he had spent the whole day trying to make the Bulgarians understand him.
"Let's give us a round of applause and welcome the Bulgarian players to the stage!" Bagman shouted.
One by one, the Bulgarian players walked between the two rows of seats in the box and shook hands with their ministers and Fudge, as Bagman shouted out everyone's name. Krum was at the end of the line, looking very embarrassed, with two dark circles on his bloodstained face and two dark circles standing out. He still had the Golden Snitch in his hand. When Bagman announced Krum's name, the entire stadium gave him an incomparably warm, deafening cheer.
Next on stage were the Irish players. Aidan Linzie was held by Moran and Connolly, and the second fall seemed to knock him unconscious, his eyes scattered and dazed. But when Troy and Quigley lifted the trophy high and the crowd erupted in thunderous applause, Linzzie grinned.
Finally, the Irish team left the box and rode around the field on a broomstick.
"I'm going to get rich. Philip had put a lot of money on the Irish team to win, and now he was excited to tell everyone how he had analysed that Ireland would win.
"I'm broke. Friedhelm frowned, and he pressed the game for three days.
"You deserve it, there's Krum. The game can't last that long. Noether put his arms around him, but his words were not comforting.
Soon, they were surrounded by a tidal wave of people who had left the gymnasium and returned to camp. As they walked back along the lantern-lit passageway, there was a rough singing in the night sky, and the leprechauns kept speeding over their heads, waving their lanterns and laughing. Finally, we arrived at the tent, but no one wanted to go home right away - Phoenix's tent had its own fireplace and was temporarily connected to the fireplaces of several other houses.
Everyone argued about the game just now, and on the issue of hitting people and fouls, Knott and Philip were arguing, and from time to time Friedhelm interjected. Daphne and Melinda sat by the fire and seemed to be in good shape.
"The Dark Lord is back. Every Death Eater knows it. When Watson returned, Phoenix found an excuse to come to the private reception room, "Greengrass is going to invest some money. ”
"I'm their back. Phoenix realized immediately.
"Not bad," Watson smiled sarcastically, flashing. "It seems that Greengrass does not know our situation yet. I really don't know how they got to where they are now. ”
"It's normal that many British families don't care much about the outside world. "Phoenix changed his seat. "So, as it stands, the Bobins may have known about my parents' deaths, but they apparently had their own plans, so they brought in Greengrass, who was unknown. ”
"It could be more than that. Our insiders say that the Bobins are eager to join Voldemort. They already had contact with the Death Eaters. ”
"Does Melinda know?"
"It should not be known that the family usually does not tell the person concerned about this kind of thing, unless there is an absolutely necessary reason. Watson thought for a moment and uttered his guess.
"They're really reckless. If Melinda doesn't choose to stand with me, then we could be enemies. Isn't that too cruel for a teenage girl?"
Watson was silent, not wanting to express his opinion on the matter.
"Okay, let's talk about what's in front of you. Are they going to have a party tonight?" Phoenix thought for a moment and changed the subject.
"It's almost certain now that a lot of people are in fear of the Dark Lord and fear that he will be punished when he returns. They felt that doing so might make their punishment a little lighter. Watson recounted in a smooth tone, the news he had received recently.
"Is there a detailed plan?"
"Yes. Watson pulled a roll of parchment out of his pocket and frowned slightly. "It's not a plan. They would divert the Aurors and the Ministry of Magic's Law Enforcement Team who were arranged around the field. Then create chaos and start the march. He paused, "They don't intend to kill anyone, so as not to provoke the Ministry of Magic to take tough measures against them." ”
"It's really clever and very well thought out. Phoenix's tone sneered and looked more relaxed. He took the list of promoters and key players that Watson handed over, along with information from his insiders. "A lot of acquaintances, I hope that the people who die among them will not be the parents of their classmates. ”
"We've got all our people in place, but we're in trouble if we let them show up. How do you explain it to the Ministry of Magic? They don't believe that it's a bunch of zealous wizards, they can't hold it down. Watson said worriedly.
"Change the plan and let them withdraw. It's good to keep a little more strength. I can do it myself. Phoenix said nonchalantly. "Looking at this plan, they won't fight hard. It's just pretending to scare people. ”
"Well, follow your will. Watson was silent for a moment, agreeing. "But how can we make an alliance with Voldemort if you make a move?" he probably wouldn't be happy. ”
"I have to think about that, after all, he's not a good person. But this time they gave me the opportunity to brew prestige, and I couldn't afford to miss it. ”
Led by a first-class magician of the Phoenix Merlin Order, fight against the Death Eaters. This would further increase his influence among the public, as the Death Eaters' plans were rushed, and their plans were even hasteered.
"Alright, I'll arrange it later. Unaware of these thoughts that crossed Watson's mind, Phoenix tossed it into the blazing fire after reading the parchment.
"Come in. A rhythmic knock sounded at the door.
"Young Master, they've all arrived. The man looked like Watson, as he had been when he was younger, and a hint of love flashed in Watson's eyes, and then he turned back to serious and indifferent. Phoenix stood up, and father and son followed towards the top of the tent.
