Chapter 41: Night Falls
"I'm going to offer to put the Final Three Cup in the maze," Barty Crouch Jr. whispered, "turning it into a portkey." I carefully studied the rules and traditions of the Triwizard Tournament. The last event is all about getting trophies, and Dumbledore will have to arrange for me to patrol around and I can clear the obstacles for him. โ
"Very well, Dementor!" Phoenix already had an idea in his mind. He quickly revised Crouch's memory, and when he woke up, he would only remember that he had successfully obtained the Liquid Grass. "Put things in his pocket. โ
Snape complied, looked up and asked, "We're going to let him go like that?"
"Of course, this is a great opportunity. I'll give him a condition he can't refuse to help me. Phoenix pulled a feather out of his pocket, "I enchanted it, it's like Floo Net, use it to contact me if there's something urgent." โ
Snape didn't ask why he wanted to help Voldemort, he neither wanted to know nor cared. As long as Phoenix can deliver on its promises.
For a while, Phoenix and Hermione weren't alone, and they didn't even see each other in class. The two tacitly tried to eliminate the impact of this incident as soon as possible in this way. Thankfully, Phoenix's authority in Slytherin kept no one talking about it.
After Easter, they will face the final event of the Triwizard Tournament. At half past eight in the evening, Phoenix went downstairs after playing a game of chess with Rogge in the common room. As he walked through the foyer, Harry was coming down the stairs.
"What do you think it will be?" Phoenix asked Harry as the two of them walked down the stone steps together and melted into the cloudy night, "Fleur said it was an underground tunnel some time ago. She thinks we're looking for treasure. โ
"That's not bad. Harry said.
"Yes, we can call Hagrid a sniff. Phoenix smiled too, Beauxbatons always wanted to know the events in advance. Their giant headmaster was probably deceived by Hagrid.
They walked down the pitch-black lawn towards the Quidditch pitch and entered the pitch through a crack in the stands. The Quidditch pitch is no longer flat and smooth. It seems as if someone has erected numerous long low walls here, which are intricately intricately stretched out in all directions.
"It's a wall! it looks like it's a labyrinth," Phoenix said, looking down at the low wall closest to him.
"Hello!" shouted a cheerful voice.
Ludo Bagman stood in the middle of the pitch, next to Krum and Fleur. Harry and Phoenix stepped over the low walls and walked towards them.
"Well, what do you think?" asked Bagman happily as Harry and Phoenix climbed over the last low wall, "it's going well, isn't it? Don't worry," he said with a smile on Harry's unhappy face, "as soon as the tournament is over, your Quidditch pitch will be back to its original state!
For a moment no one spoke, and thenโ
"Labyrinth. Krum said in a gruff voice.
"That's right!" Bagman said, "it's a labyrinth." The third project is very simple and clear. The Triwizard Cup is placed in the middle of the maze, and whoever touches it first will get a perfect score. โ
"We just need to go through the maze?" Fleur said.
"There will be many obstacles," said Bagman cheerfully, tiptoeing around, "Hagrid offers a whole bunch of animals - and some spells that must be lifted - and so on, you know. Also, the Warriors who lead the scoring go into the maze first. Bagman smiled at Harry and Phoenix, "Then Mr. Krum went inโand Miss Delacour at the end. But you all have to work hard to succeed, and it depends on your ability to overcome obstacles. It's supposed to be fun, isn't it?"
"Very well-if you're all right, let's go back to the castle, okay? It's a little cold here-"
As they stepped over the growing wall, Bagman hurried past Harry. It looked like he wanted to talk to Harry alone, but just then, Krum tapped Harry on the shoulder.
"Can I have a word with you?"
"Yes, no problem. Harry said, slightly surprised.
"Come with me, okay?"
"Okay. Harry said curiously.
Phoenix ignored Krum's hostile gaze and turned to walk away. The night did not end in peace, and before he went to bed, he received an urgent letter from Snape, the tail feathers of a phoenix.
"Crouch appeared in the Forbidden Forest, but by the time Dumbledore arrived, he was missing again. I think Crouch Jr. should have taken him to the end. The tiny fur of the feathers trembled slightly, and a low, clear voice came out.
"That's good. He didn't leave a clue, did he?"
"No, it was very clean. โ
"Good, you keep staring. โ
The next day, Phoenix received word that the Ministry of Magic was looking for Crouch, and that his personal assistant, Weasley, Percy, had been suspended for investigation. Fudge is trying his best to block the news, and if it is known that an important official from the Ministry of Magic is missing, he will finally settle the World Cup incident, and he doesn't want to get into another big problem so soon.
They went to the north tower for a divination class. Dazzling golden sunlight casts a wide band of light through the high windows of the corridor, and the blue sky outside the window is as bright as if it has just been glazed.
"Fudge, that idiot, always knows the remedy when he gets out of the basket. "They walked up the stairs that led to the silver staircase and the trapdoor," Knott said.
"Then again, there aren't many ministers of magic who are competent, and most of them are the same as Fudge. โ
"Would you like to try it? Phoenix. โ
"Forget it, if you want, I'll help you Draco. "They came to the trapdoor, and Melinda was right in front of them, and saw Phoenix slam the door shut.
"You haven't explained to her yet?"
"Nope. โ
"In my opinion, if you don't look for her, she'll fly. "Bress looks very experienced.
"Come on, Brayce. We all know that you don't look down on anyone, what experience you can have with girls. "When they arrived, the dimly lit classroom was breathlessly hot. The smell of incense is stronger than usual.
"My dear," Professor Trelawney sat in the winged armchair, scanning them with her surprisingly large eyes, "we're almost done with planetary divination. But today is a great time to study the role of Mars, because it is currently in a very interesting position. Look this way, I'll turn off the lightsโ"
With a wave of her wand, all the lights went out. The fire became the only source of light. Professor Trelawney bent down and pulled out a small model of the solar system in a round glass enclosure from under his chair. The model is stunningly beautiful, with the burning sun, the nine planets, and their moons suspended in a glass dome, glittering in their respective positions. Professor Trelawney begins to explain the wonderful angle between Mars and Neptune.
Just as most of the people were drowsy, Harry suddenly rolled to the ground, screaming as if possessed by something. Everyone immediately avoided him, and one or two girls screamed in fright, and the scene was chaotic for a while.
"Harry, Harry!" Ron rushed over and knelt on the ground, holding him down as hard as he could, calling his name without stopping.
Harry opened his eyes. He lay on the floor of the classroom, his hands over his face. The whole class was standing around, and Ron knelt beside him, looking terrified.
"Are you alright?" said Ron.
"Of course he's in trouble!" Professor Trelawney looked excited. Her big eyes stared at Harry, sinister as she approached him. "What's going on, Potter, an omen, an apparition, what do you see?"
"Nothing," Harry sat up, his body shaking. He couldn't help but look around, peeking carefully into the shadows behind him,
"You covered your scars!" Professor Trelawney said, "You rolled on the ground with your scars! Come on, Potter, I've got experience with that!"
Harry looked up at her.
"I think I need to go to the hospital," he said, "and I have a terrible headache." โ
"My dear, you are obviously affected by the peculiar visual vibrations in my classroom!" said Professor Trelawney, "and if you walk away now, you won't see anything you've never seenโ"
"I just want to see a cure for my headaches. Harry said.
He stood up, and the class retreated, all with uneasy expressions on their faces.
"I'll see you later. Harry whispered to Ron. He grabbed his bag and walked towards the trapdoor, ignoring Professor Traolini. She looked depressed, as if she had been deprived of a rich feast.
"I'll just say Potter isn't in his right head. Draco said maliciously.
"yes, help me get in the way, I'm sleeping. โ
